Story
Hootie is one of our sanctuary dogs. He is at a foster home. He has been with us 2 1/2 years and he is now 5 years old. His owner moved to chicago and Hootie, an already fearful dog could not handle the traffic, horns and city life. The owner could not walk him on the chicago streets.  When Hootie came to us our intention was to put him up for adoption right away. This did not happen because he was so scared here at first. Hootie is still a scared dog , but not with us. We really need to find him a home. He craves love and attention, which he gets here, although he must share it with the other dogs. He really needs his own human. He sleeps in the bed at night. He is a house dog, our Sanctuary Dogs are all in foster homes.  He is housbroken. He is a sweet, loving and a wonderful boy. When he gets to know you he will always being lying at your side, or try to get on your lap. He is good with other dogs, however he seldom plays. He just wants his humans. He lays under his fosters desk when she is working. He is always there by her side.  He will be EXTREMELY scared when he goes to a new home. It took him a couple of weeks to come around. He is available under our Foster to Adopt Program. He needs someone home during the day. He will never be a social butterfly, he will always be a homebody. If you travel or go on vacations he can't be boarded or go along with you. He would need a dog sitter to come to your home. Hootie cannot be in a home with lots of activity. Any noise or quick moves scares him, where he will jump and look around. He will hide from strangers . He needs a quiet home with one or two people that will be his forever family. He is a homebody. . He is calm, quiet and very well behaved.  He would do best in a home with no children living in the house, or a home with teens. If anyone comes to visit he will just go and hide until he knows them. He does not bite or growl, he is very submissive, just scared of new things and new people.  He needs a secure fenced in yard. Someone who is home such as a healthy active retired couple because can live another 10-12 years. His new family must live no farther than 50 miles away from Grovertown, Indiana. We would want you to come and meet him here, and if it goes good we will need to bring him to your house. It may take a couple of visits if we feel he needs to get to know you better. We are in no rush for him to leave. We need to find the right home for him. Hooties adoption fee is $100. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. For more information on our Foster to Adopt Program go to this link https://indianasaveadog.com/foster-to-adopt ##671776##

Story
Meet Sadie! This 6-year-old Heeler/Shepherd mix is ready to find her forever home. Sadie would love nothing more than to be crowned `Queen of the Couch,` with her favorite spot right next to you—whether she’s enjoying a toy or taking a peaceful nap. She’s the perfect balance of calm and playful, offering the best of both worlds. Sadie is a well-mannered, polite girl, and the wild puppy antics are behind her. She’s a joy to walk on a leash, making your daily strolls both easy and enjoyable. While we haven’t tested her with other dogs yet, the shelter we transferred her from mentioned that she was good with them. Sadie is sure to be a loving, loyal companion. Could she be the perfect fit for your family?

Story
This handsome fella is an Australian cattle dog mix named Prince. He is about 1 year old. Prince was surrendered and it is clear he has had a rough time. Prince is fearful and can be jealous of other dogs because he is starved for attention. He is working on house training and understanding toys. He has been friendly with dogs in the past. Prince needs a special family to help him build confidence and learn that the world isn't scary. He is currently in the Chicago suburbs but he can be transported to an approved foster or adopter.

Story
My mom was one of two young dogs abandoned at an intersection. They were being fed by a nearby resident; eventually she realized they were both pregnant. The resident's friend posted on Facebook and another nearby resident saw the plea and took action. SPOT agreed to help when a foster offer came through! This PUPPY is currently located in Wharton County, Texas, but can be transported to Chicago via a licensed, reputable transport company. The transport fee is included in the adoption fee.
