Story
This is Chewy, a 3 year old Australian cattle dog who is neutered and vaccinated (with vet records). He is located in Louisville, KY. Chewy is very smart and learns quickly. He is house and crate trained, and he loves to play outside. I have been taking care of him for about a month while trying to find a permanent home, since his original owner’s living situation changed and could no longer keep him. He has learned so much over the past month and I expect him to keep on learning! Chewy is good with other dogs and older children. He has never displayed aggressive behavior. He is looking for someone who is relatively active and has some experience (or is willing to learn) about herding breeds!

Meet Apollo! Apollo is a 5-year-old Cattle Dog mix. If you're looking for the perfect companion, you can choose any adventure you want with this dog. He loves the car so pick a park, pick a kayak, pick a trail - He's ready to go. At home, he's good for zoomies in the yard or settling down for cozies on the couch. He might look a little serious, but he's very affectionate. He's a straightforward dog with simple needs. At his age and maturity level, he does not need to be entertained or exercised all day. He is not a groupie, he just needs his "person", his BFF. Apollo requires a physically fenced in yard and a home without other animals. A graduate of the Paws Behind Bars program, Apollo was awarded the highest praise for his learning. All the volunteers rave how sweet Apollo is and now he is ready for you! If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Apollos picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach.

Story
LENNOX is a 2 year old, female cattle dog mix. She weighs 39 lbs. She was originally adopted out as a puppy and came back when she hit her "terrible teens". Those days are now long gone and she has blossomed into a lovely, young lady. Our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program was just what she needed. Here, the rules are the rules and slowly, but surely, Lennox started to fall into line. Cattle dogs are a very task driven breed and obedience training was actually what she needed. She also polished up her social skills. Her "perfect fit" home will be an active one with older children. (cattle dogs will always want to herd). A fenced in yard is a must so she can get the proper amount of exercise. She loves people and thrives on obedience and structure. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Lennox's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!

Story
EVIE is a 6 month old, female cattle dog/hound mix puppy. She's got soooooo much going for her! She's beautifully marked. Her beautifully, ticked coat really sets off her big, brown eyes. She's very friendly and outgoing. She's playful but with just the right amount of energy. She is ready to graduate our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program. She knows basic obedience, walks nicely on a leash, and is crate and house trained. Her perfect fit family should be an active one. She is at an age where she can grow up with anything as her ; - other dogs, cats & kids. A fenced in yard is recommended, so as she grows, she can get the proper amount of exercise. If you are interested in Evie, submit an online application found on our website, www.adoptmebluegrasspeterescue.com. Additional adoption FAQ's can be found there also. Meets will be set with approved applicants. Thank you

Two Loving Blue Heelers Looking for Separate Homes We have two 7-month-old Blue Heelers that need separate, loving homes due to litter mate syndrome. These are amazing dogs—smart, loyal, and great with children—but they are better suited to homes where they can thrive individually. Details: Temperament: Friendly, loving, and attentive. They listen well and are eager to please. Behavior: They do have a strong herding instinct and will chase sheep, so a home without livestock is ideal. Like most puppies, they occasionally chew on things in the yard. Health: They are not fixed yet and are in good health. We have a toddler and another baby on the way, which makes it difficult to give them the individual attention they need. These pups will make wonderful companions for the right families. If you're interested in adopting one of these sweet dogs, please contact us to learn more. Important Note: They must go to separate homes to ensure their best development and happiness.
