He’s a social eater (he likes to dine near his people like the little gentleman he is) and an expert napper who takes his sunbathing schedule very seriously. Rizzo`s foster mom states that he enjoys running with her, and they`ve even started doing Couch to 5k together!Rizzo has been an excellent office buddy here at HSHC and a devoted companion to the people who’ve taken the time to get to know him. He’s hoping for a calm and steady home where guests are few, and he can really settle in as someone’s best friend. He may not be the life of the party, but if you prefer quiet mornings, loyal company, and a dog who thinks the sun rises and sets with you... Rizzo is already halfway in love. Come meet him and see if the feeling’s mutual!

Lola Moon`s Compatibility:Dogs: Yes!Cats: Prefers no catsKids: Yes, dog-savvy teens are a great fitLola Moon is a one-of-a-kind girl with a big personality, a love for the outdoors, and a name that sounds like she should be in a folk band. She’s clever, sensitive, and has a strong herding instinct, which means she takes her job of “supervising the household” very seriously. She was found as a stray a couple of years ago and has spent most of her time since then exploring big open spaces and perfecting her favorite hobbies: sticking close to her people, chasing the occasional leaf (or cat), and making her opinions about strangers very clear. She’s not a social butterfly; she’d prefer a tight circle of trusted humans who respect her space and understand her working-dog brain.Lola’s ideal home is calm and consistent. She’ll thrive with someone who’s ready to work with her and advocate for her needs. She has completed a board-and-train program, knows her basic cues, and does best with positive reinforcement and routine. While she may not want to be the life of the party, Lola has so much love to give to the people she bonds with. She’s loyal, smart, and goofy in her own way. If you give her a chance, she just might be your ride-or-die hiking buddy, backyard adventurer, and best friend. She’s not for everyone, but if she’s for you, she’s really for you. Come meet Lola Moon and see if her orbit feels like home!

Story
Ferdinand is a 9-year-old Heeler/Lab mix with a gentle, loving nature and a strong attachment to his people. He's kind with kids and enjoys being close to family, offering quiet companionship and affection. He's a smart, attentive boy who does best with secure outdoor spaces and supervised time outside. Ferdinand has been with his brother his entire life and shares a deep, reassuring bond with him. He can become anxious when they're apart, and he truly thrives when they're together as a bonded pair. This is a very difficult decision for our family. Our son was recently diagnosed with moderate to severe asthma, and despite every effort, we've been advised that rehoming our dogs is necessary for his health and safety. Our only goal is to find a loving, stable home where they can stay together and continue to be cherished.

Story
Milo is a 6 year old snuggle hound. He enjoys playing with other dogs but is just as happy looking out the window and alerting his family to any rabbits in the vicinity. He loves belly rubs and nylabones. He hates the cold but will go out with his jacket on. He had a rough start in life and had a number of parasites when we adopted him. He is healthy now but will always test positive for heart worm because he has the antibodies. He would do alright with older kids but very young children (under 5) make him nervous and defensive.

Story
Meet Baron! 🐾 Baron is a remarkable young pup, just 1 year old and weighing 45 lbs, who’s ready to find his forever family. He is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Baron previously tested positive for a tick-borne disease but has since been fully treated. With a heart as big as the ocean, Baron is a true water dog—he loves cooling off by lounging in a doggy pool on warm days. He’s well-mannered, house-trained, and kennel-trained, making him an easy addition to the right home. Baron gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and having a canine companion in the household is actually preferred, as he opens up more quickly when he has another dog to bond with. Baron can be a bit shy at first, especially around men, and may take a few days to feel comfortable. A patient, understanding family will help him blossom into the loving companion he’s meant to be. Because of his gentle and reserved nature, we recommend a home with a fenced-in yard and older children who understand boundaries. While Baron isn’t overly active, he enjoys relaxing around the house, exploring the yard, and going on regular walks—he walks beautifully on a leash. Sweet, loyal, and full of potential, Baron is ready to grow and thrive with a family who will give him the time and love he deserves. Could you be the one Baron has been waiting for? Take the first step toward a lifetime of love and companionship by giving Baron the forever home he deserves. 💙 I'm being fostered in La Feria, TX but can be transported to any midwestern or northeastern state. Adoption fee is $500. Please apply to adopt here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ASHT/Dog
