Story
Max is a loving and amazing dog. He is such a people person and always shows constant affection. He is very energetic and needs lots of attention. He is trained well and responds quickly to commands. He would be a great fit for a young family or a farm that can give him the space and time for his energy. I am relocating a cross the country this fall and need to find an amazing home for this sweet boy.

Story
Rocky is 11 years old. He LOVES people. He always wants to be where his people are at and by your side. He is a true Velcro dog. We would like Rocky to go to a home where he could get a lot of attention and daily exercise. He would be a great fit for someone who wants a loyal companion. He does not like other animals very much(he tolerated our dog that has since passed, and we are unsure if he would get along with another dog). He does not like cats. Rocky would need to be an only "child."

Meet Boots! Boots is a 5-year-old Cattle Dog mix with a striking set of "boots"! If you're looking for the perfect companion, you can choose your adventure with Boots! He is ready for the coffee run and pup cup car ride, a stroll in the park, zoomies in the yard, and being your cozy companion at home. He is inquisitive, enjoys people and giving kisses. Boots is a simple dog, with simple needs. At his age and maturity level, he does not need to be entertained or exercised all day. He does not need an active family or other dogs to play with. He is not a groupie, he just needs his "person", his BFF. A graduate of the Paws Behind Bars program, Boots was awarded the highest praise for his learning. All the volunteers rave how sweet Boots is and now he is ready for you! If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Boot's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!

Story
LENNOX is a 2 year old, female cattle dog mix. She weighs 39 lbs. She was originally adopted out as a puppy and came back when she hit her "terrible teens". Those days are now long gone and she has blossomed into a lovely, young lady. Our Paws Behind Bars prison dog training program was just what she needed. Here, the rules are the rules and slowly, but surely, Lennox started to fall into line. Cattle dogs are a very task driven breed and obedience training was actually what she needed. She also polished up her social skills. Upon graduating from the program, she went to a great foster home. Here, she became BFF's with the foster's dog. (Who was also in our program and came back as an unruly teenager before he, too, went through Paws Behind Bars) Her "perfect fit" home will be an active one with older children. (cattle dogs will always want to herd). If there is another dog, a male would be preferred. A fenced in yard is a must so she can get the proper amount of exercise. She loves people and thrives on obedience and structure. If interested in adopting, our process begins with submission of our application. Please visit our website at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com and click on Lennox's picture in "Adoptable Dogs". Additional adoption FAQ's can be found here also. Meets will be set with approved applicants based on our "best family fit" approach. Thank you!

Story
I got tippi as a surprise Christmas gift three years ago, Since then, he has been glued to my hip. The moment I got him in the truck, I knew something was off. I’m not sure if he has a mental disability or neurological problem.I have tried to get him diagnosed, but became a parent that was out of my financial reach. He is protective when new guests arrive , but adjusts after 5/10 mins once he gets to smell them. Mostly barking. He is a very sweet goofy dog, We like to describe him as Jim Carrey because of the way that he overreacts with his body language. He’s very enthusiastic and playful. He does live with a cat currently and they get along very well and even play with each other. I’m not sure how that will be for others, I think just time to adjust will do. I have noticed that he has a lot of Leash aggression, Which I have tried to work on with him by giving him treats and positive reinforcement. He hasn’t been around a lot of children. He is mostly used to adult
