Texas is a very sweet boy that just needs a lot more time and attention than we can give him. A fenced in yard would be ideal, someone who has experience with Aussies and/or cattle dogs would be preferable. Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.

Story
BogartHeeler / Husky Mix1 year old 50 poundsMeet Bogart — a young, athletic guy with a big personality and an even bigger love for toys.Bogart came to us as a stray and quickly made himself known as the rope toy champion. If there’s a rope toy nearby, it’s his. His favorite move? Grabbing it and giving it a good shake, shake, shake. He’s a proud member of the toy “shaker” club and takes that job very seriously. At a year old, Bogart is full of energy and loves having a job to do. Running, playing, bike rides, and anything active are right up his alley. True to his breed mix, he’s smart, busy, and happiest when both his body and brain are getting exercise.Bogart also tends to be what people call a “one-person dog.” Once he chooses his person, he bonds hard and becomes extremely loyal. Because of this, he’ll need an owner who understands the Heeler/Husky personality and is comfortable with a dog who may not want to be everyone’s best friend. For Bogart, that means:• No cats• No kids• Someone familiar with or willing to learn about working breedsHe enjoys playing with other energetic dogs who match his rough-and-tumble play style, but his strongest connection will always be with his person. And just to be clear — Bogart isn’t a dog we’re trying to rush out the door. He’s happy here, has a solid routine, and gets plenty of exercise and mental stimulation while he waits for the right home to come along. What he really needs is someone who appreciates a smart, intense, loyal dog and is excited to build that kind of bond.If you’re looking for a devoted adventure partner who will always be ready to grab a rope toy and give it a good shake, Bogart might be exactly the dog you’ve been looking for.

Story
Resi is one handsome guy with brains to match! This sweet boy came to FDHS as an owner surrender through no fault of his own, and he’s been making quite the impression ever since. Resi is a smart, energetic pup who thrives when he has something to do. Whether it’s going for a walk, learning something new, or just exploring the world around him, he’s happiest when his brain and body are both getting a workout. He’s a perfect medium-sized companion and walks nicely on leash, making him a great fit for someone who enjoys getting out and about. Resi has shown interest in the other dogs here at the shelter and may enjoy a canine friend, given proper introductions. We don’t have any history of him with cats at this time.Resi is the kind of dog who will really shine in a home that can match his energy and continue helping him grow into the best version of himself. He’s a fun, eager, and lovable guy who’s ready to find a family to call his own!**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 40 lbs**

Story
Meet Booker a one year old mix breed dog. Since coming to the shelter he has been very sweet but very very shy. Go slow but be ready to see his personality shine when you get outside! While we haven't tested him with kids, with his shy personality he may be nervous of fast moving children so older children may be best.Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at info@awlwarsaw.com if you have any questions about me! If not, stop by the shelter at 1048 S 325 E in Pierceton, IN 46562 to look at me! No appointments necessary!
