Story
Hi, I'm Riddle. Thanks for taking a look at me! I know my cute face is irresistible, but remember that I will take up lots of your time and attention while I grow into an awesome adult dog. Socialization, training (including house training), and exercise are just a few of the things I will look to you for. Chewing, teething, and learning what is Okay and not Okay to put in my mouth are all part of the puppy experience. And, be prepared for the time and money for frequent trips to the vet during the first few months so I can get up to date on my boosters and vaccines. But most of all, be prepared for all of the LOVE, puppy kisses, and joy I will bring into your life. If you are up for the challenge and the fun, stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Aaron - Male Cattle Dog/Mountain Cur Mutt Mix. (Breeds are STRICTLY BEST GUESS ONLY) Date of Birth 1/29/2024 Current Weight 28-30lbs Aaron is a one-year-old, 28-pound bundle of love who has spent his entire life in a shelter, waiting for his chance at a forever home. Now that he's in Illinois, he’s getting his first real taste of home life, and he’s loving it! This handsome boy adores being near people and is already well-socialized with other dogs. He’s a friendly, affectionate pup who’s eager to bond and learn. Since living in a home is brand new to him, he’ll need a patient adopter willing to continue his basic training and help him build confidence in his new world. Aaron would thrive with someone who will guide him as he discovers the joys of being a beloved family member. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, going for walks, or simply being by your side, this sweet boy is ready to give you his whole heart. Aaron would do best with a fenced in yard. He can be active. (In a good way) Will be a great companion for an active family or person. If he seems like he would make a perfect fit for you and your family. Please visit the rescue webpage www.foreverhomedogrescueil@ gmail.com for requirements, process and applications. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Thank you for considering the adoption of one of our rescue dogs. We are committed to finding our rescues the perfect home. Together we can make a difference in the life of a dog. The adoption process should be a fun and exciting time for families and dogs. Our goal is to place our babies in forever homes. The potential adopter needs to be dedicated to their care and training for life. Understand that sharing your life with a dog can be a commitment of 15+ years. This would include feeding, exercise, training, vetting, and providing a loving home. Ask yourself, "Am I ready for this type of commitment?" If you are ready, we are here to help. We do have some requirements to help us find the perfect placement of our babies. WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE ONLY. WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL BUILDING 1. Apply online at https://www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family (including other dogs) to approve an adoption. Only a final approval for adoption can take place after a successful meet and greet. This is done by appointments only. We will not proceed with the adoption if everyone has not met the dog. This will allow others the opportunity to adopt the dog. 2. Adopters MUST be 25 years old. Information on all adults/members living in the home is required We REQUIRE you to provide proof and vet reference that all current and past pets have been kept up to date on all routine medical. 3. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, 4. If you do not own your home, you must provide landlord contact information on the application and a copy of your lease that outlines the rules for dog ownership in your residence. Large breed dogs will not be adopted into apartment settings or where there are breed/ size restrictions. Puppies have special needs and require a home where someone is available to care for, socialize, and give basic training. If you are gone for more than a couple hours at a time, please consider adopting a teen or older dog. 5. Adoption fees are $425.00. We accept Zelle, Cash or Checks. (Prices are subject to change without notice). 6. All dogs and puppies adopted through Forever Home are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Keep in mind once you take possession of your newly adopted dog, any and all future medical costs or care is YOUR responsibility. 7. First time puppy/dog adopters will be required to sign up for and pay in advance a basic training class. A deposit of an extra 50.00 will be required until a class has been completed, it will then be returned. 8. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Medical included is as follows: Spay/Neuter (age appropriate) *Forever Home uses Fox Valley Animal Welfare League in Aurora, IL Age appropriate core vaccines Fecal testing and deworming Flea and tick preventative Free 1st Vet visit at one of our participating vets Microchipping Forever Home Dog Rescue reserves the right to deny any applicant.

Story
Hi, I'm Mazie. A sweet and loving gal, looking for a loving home. When I arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, I tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm positive dogs like me to be while going through treatments and recovering is with a loving and forever family like yours. If you choose to adopt me, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support. The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep me safe while I recover. The last step in the process is a follow-up test six months after my treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will fully recover! Yeah! And you should know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitoes. Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Meet Warren! Warren joined Second City as a surrender to CACC, along with his brother, Wyatt. Though a little shy at first, this sweet pup quickly reveals his loving, playful side once he feels comfortable. He’s a vocal little guy with lots of opinions—whether it’s about people walking by, the dishwasher, or even the Starbucks drive-thru lady!Still a puppy, Warren is smart and eager to learn. He’s already mastered “sit” and is working on potty training with progress every day. He loves his toys, enjoys yard time, and does well on walks with a harness, though he’s still gaining confidence. While he needs a bit of patience as he adjusts to new environments, Warren`s cuddly, goofy personality makes it all worth it. With the right family and maybe even a calm, confident dog sibling to guide him, Warren will make a wonderful forever companion.Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Meet Copenhagen! This sweet 5-month-old Heeler/Lab mix is named after the charming city known for its warmth and personality — and he has plenty of that to share! While he may be a bit shy, Copenhagen’s playful and affectionate nature really shines through if you give it time to warm up. He’s already potty trained, sleeps soundly in his crate, and is food-motivated, which makes him a quick learner. He’s even starting to master `sit`! As a puppy, he’ll need ongoing training, but his eagerness to please will make the process enjoyable for both of you. Copenhagen can be a little vocal, but that’s just his way of expressing his joy and enthusiasm. His striking blue and brown eyes will captivate you, and his adorable smile will melt your heart every time. He’s also dog-friendly and enjoys playing `chase me` with other pups. If you’re looking for a playful, loving, and intelligent companion who’s ready to grow and learn with you, Copenhagen might be the perfect fit for your family!Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Adamo is a stunning 1-year-old Australian Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his potential! Though initially shy and skittish, he has made incredible progress in just a few days in his foster home and continues to gain confidence with patience and kindness. He thrives with a calm, steady approach and does best when given time to warm up. Once he trusts you, he enjoys gentle chin scratches and will happily stay by your side. He’s already been on several outings to places like Petco and Home Depot, meeting new people and learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. This smart and gentle boy is highly treat-motivated and doing great with training—he’s already picking up "sit," "come," and leash manners. He’s crate-trained, house-trained (with only a couple of accidents while adjusting), and loves going on long daily walks. Adamo has even shown some agility potential, confidently navigating park equipment and balancing on curbs for fun! He’s a fantastic car passenger, a quiet companion, and a champion napper. With the right loving, patient home, Adamo will continue to flourish and become the best adventure buddy or cozy cuddle companion you could ask for!
