Story
Meet Gidget, a 6-year-old Australian Cattle Dog/Pit Bull Mix weighing 46 pounds. Timid at first, but quick to warm up, she transforms into a wiggly-tailed, affectionate companion. She loves being petted and thinks she's a lap dog, playfully booping your hand if you stop. Her foster mom describes her as special, emphasizing Gidget's impeccable behavior, loyalty, and adaptability to various activities. This sweetheart's foster mom is proud to say that Gidget is getting much braver.  She used to hide upstairs when the family cooked and ate because of the noise, and she’ll now lay peacefully on the couch, doesn’t beg for food, and just watches TV with the family. She really loves routines and learns them very quickly - she has also became more food motivated. Gidget is calm, cuddly, and will follow you around and lay at your feet. She has a very happy and wiggly bottom, does a happy tap dance when given attention, and just super-loves her humans. Although Gidget loves humans, she needs to be the only dog in the home. Gidget thrives outdoors and on walks, demonstrating impeccable leash manners and regularly checking in with her walker. She loves running outside and often gets the "zoomies." She also loves playing fetch. Despite lacking formal commands, Gidget is incredibly well-behaved, calm, and quiet, with no exhibited prey drive—even in the presence of pet rats. In search of a loving home with a fenced yard, Gidget is ready to blossom with the right person or family. Her foster mom thinks she'll be great with kids, but believes she'll be most comfortable in a quieter home with children over 10 years old. She is a unique and special dog, eagerly awaiting the chance to become a cherished member of a lucky household. Her minimum adoption fee is $95 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Hi, I'm Pepper and I've lived a rough life! I was dumped at 2 years old to a shelter and adopted out a few months later only to be dumped in the country again. I have some trust issues but give me a day and I will love you so much! I love all dogs and cats. But kids are my absolute favorite over the age of 6. I don't want my tail pulled! As you can see, I was over fed and need to lose a few lbs.! I'm not happy about it because I live to eat! When I first meet people, I'm snarky and not happy about it because I have enough friends as it is, but mom says I have to so again give me a few minutes and I will love you! My absolute favorite thing in the world is car rides! I could do them all day long so if you know a trucker looking for a friend, I'd be happy to be copilot (just no gas station snacks allowed mom says)! Or if you have a kid, I also like to spend my day with them! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. Story
Birdie is a 10-month-old Heeler mix weighing 39 pounds, and he’s as sweet as they come! With one ear that stands tall and the other adorably floppy, his charm is undeniable. This amazing pup has a moderate energy level, making him the perfect mix of playful and snuggly. He loves running around in the yard with his foster siblings, chewing on bones, and playing with toys. Birdie is also respectful of dogs who prefer their space, making him a great fit in a multi-dog household. Birdie is crate trained (he’s as quiet as a mouse in his crate), house trained, and walks beautifully on a leash—he’d make an excellent walking buddy! He adores outdoor adventures and would thrive with a family who enjoys spending time outside. A true people-pleaser, Birdie showers his humans and doggy friends with affection. Whether he’s playing in the yard, snuggling on the couch, or loving on kids and adults alike, Birdie is happy as long as he’s with his people. Could Birdie be the perfect addition to your family? His adoption fee is $300, plus a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents if he’s 4 months or older.
