Hi, I'm Riddle. Thanks for taking a look at me! I know my cute face is irresistible, but remember that I will take up lots of your time and attention while I grow into an awesome adult dog. Socialization, training (including house training), and exercise are just a few of the things I will look to you for. Chewing, teething, and learning what is Okay and not Okay to put in my mouth are all part of the puppy experience. And, be prepared for the time and money for frequent trips to the vet during the first few months so I can get up to date on my boosters and vaccines. But most of all, be prepared for all of the LOVE, puppy kisses, and joy I will bring into your life. If you are up for the challenge and the fun, stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Aaron - Male Cattle Dog/Mountain Cur Mutt Mix. (Breeds are STRICTLY BEST GUESS ONLY) Date of Birth 1/29/2024 Current Weight 28-30lbs Aaron is a one-year-old, 28-pound bundle of love who has spent his entire life in a shelter, waiting for his chance at a forever home. Now that he's in Illinois, he’s getting his first real taste of home life, and he’s loving it! This handsome boy adores being near people and is already well-socialized with other dogs. He’s a friendly, affectionate pup who’s eager to bond and learn. Since living in a home is brand new to him, he’ll need a patient adopter willing to continue his basic training and help him build confidence in his new world. Aaron would thrive with someone who will guide him as he discovers the joys of being a beloved family member. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, going for walks, or simply being by your side, this sweet boy is ready to give you his whole heart. Aaron would do best with a fenced in yard. He can be active. (In a good way) Will be a great companion for an active family or person. If he seems like he would make a perfect fit for you and your family. Please visit the rescue webpage www.foreverhomedogrescueil@ gmail.com for requirements, process and applications. WE DO NOT DO OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS Thank you for considering the adoption of one of our rescue dogs. We are committed to finding our rescues the perfect home. Together we can make a difference in the life of a dog. The adoption process should be a fun and exciting time for families and dogs. Our goal is to place our babies in forever homes. The potential adopter needs to be dedicated to their care and training for life. Understand that sharing your life with a dog can be a commitment of 15+ years. This would include feeding, exercise, training, vetting, and providing a loving home. Ask yourself, "Am I ready for this type of commitment?" If you are ready, we are here to help. We do have some requirements to help us find the perfect placement of our babies. WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE ONLY. WE DO NOT HAVE A PHYSICAL BUILDING 1. Apply online at https://www.foreverhomedogrescueil.org We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family (including other dogs) to approve an adoption. Only a final approval for adoption can take place after a successful meet and greet. This is done by appointments only. We will not proceed with the adoption if everyone has not met the dog. This will allow others the opportunity to adopt the dog. 2. Adopters MUST be 25 years old. Information on all adults/members living in the home is required We REQUIRE you to provide proof and vet reference that all current and past pets have been kept up to date on all routine medical. 3. Illinois law requires that all of our dogs and puppies be spayed/neutered within 30 days of adoption. In order to fully comply with this regulation and reduce the number of homeless dogs and puppies, 4. If you do not own your home, you must provide landlord contact information on the application and a copy of your lease that outlines the rules for dog ownership in your residence. Large breed dogs will not be adopted into apartment settings or where there are breed/ size restrictions. Puppies have special needs and require a home where someone is available to care for, socialize, and give basic training. If you are gone for more than a couple hours at a time, please consider adopting a teen or older dog. 5. Adoption fees are $425.00. We accept Zelle, Cash or Checks. (Prices are subject to change without notice). 6. All dogs and puppies adopted through Forever Home are fully vetted with age appropriate vaccines. Keep in mind once you take possession of your newly adopted dog, any and all future medical costs or care is YOUR responsibility. 7. First time puppy/dog adopters will be required to sign up for and pay in advance a basic training class. A deposit of an extra 50.00 will be required until a class has been completed, it will then be returned. 8. Story
Hi, I'm Mazie. A sweet and loving gal, looking for a loving home. When I arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, I tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm positive dogs like me to be while going through treatments and recovering is with a loving and forever family like yours. If you choose to adopt me, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support. The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep me safe while I recover. The last step in the process is a follow-up test six months after my treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will fully recover! Yeah! And you should know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitoes. Stop in and meet my cute self in person during our adoption hours. For more information, email info@ahconnects.org or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Story
Meet Cadbury Cadbury has sure had a tough few years. A few months ago, he found himself at a high-kill shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. It was not the first time he ended up homeless and alone…through no fault of his own. Cadbury is a special boy, just 7 years old and about 38 lbs; he's small and compact, and a little stocky. We are not sure of his breed…could be a Cattle Dog/Lab Mix? He looks like a giant Chihuahua. He's a special-needs pup because he is missing his front right leg which became mangled about a year ago, and could not be saved. While sometimes difficult to get around, he does ok overall. Most challenging for him is going up and down stairs. As such, a ranch-style home or other one-level home would be best for him. Cadbury loves attention and enjoys the company of people. He also enjoys hanging out with other dogs, of all sizes. He is good with cats too. Cadbury enjoys car rides and is a very well-mannered passenger. Overall this sweet boy is a great dog, deserving of a loving and compassionate family of his own. Cadbury is up-to-date on all vetting, including vaccinations, is heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention. He’s neutered and microchipped. Cadbury is housebroken as well. If you are interested in adding this precious boy to your family, please contact BAARKDogRescue@gmail.com or 847-852-0895 for more information and an adoption application. Note that BAARK is located in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago; we adopt local to our area.
