Story
AN ACTIVE & FUN FELLOW:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 33 lbs. Hello – I’m Cody!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’ve been soaking up the love ever since!  As much as I love the great volunteers, I am ready to meet my new family and start my ‘happily ever after’ with them!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program having fun and learning a lot!  I was adopted for 2 months, and though my family loved me a lot, I just needed more stimulation and exercise than they could provide, so I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for the right fit.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was friendly with them.  I also played nicely with a 3-year-old larger dog in a temporary foster home, with just a few playfully mouthy moments (common for my breed mix).  I can also play alongside with a toy in my mouth, so if you have a nice doggie at home already who sounds like a match for my play style, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  In my temporary adoptive home, I got to go to doggie day care at times and enjoyed that! / Cats unknown. / I liked the kids I met with my temp. adoptive home, though I don’t recall their ages, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over, as I am pretty strong and active. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a busy guy with a friendly demeanor.  In fact, I’ve heard the volunteers describe me as ‘a strong and lovable guy with a sweet nature’.  I’ll either charm you with my handsome good looks or delight you with my contagious playfulness!  Though I’m quite energetic, I did calm down for my shelter bath and the great rubs and pets that came with that.  I have been a bit playfully mouthy and wiggly during leashing at the shelter and leave my kennel raring to go, so be ready for my enthusiasm, right out of the gate.  I’m just so happy to be out and about with the volunteers!  They say that I do the most adorable head tilts when I hear certain sounds, like whistling – so cute!  I was a good home office dog in a temp. foster home, relaxing in a dog bed while my person worked.  I did a little counter surfing, but this is trainable.  Affectionate and fun, I’m ready to bring lots of fun and adventure to my new home! / My energy level is 6-8 so I’ll want my family to be active with me! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘down’, and ‘drop it’ commands as well as how to utilize proper door etiquette.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, though I don’t want to spend a lot of time in my crate.  I didn’t want to be crated at night in my temp. foster, but maybe I won’t need a crate in my new home. / My former adoptive family reported that I did well with my potty manners while with them, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home.  • LIKES/DISLIKES: I LOVE being petted and will happily spend time hanging out with a volunteer on the front bench after my walks – collecting all the tummy scratches / rubs you wish to give!  I’m also quite treat motivated, so have those handy when you want my undivided attention.  I went on a sunset hike with a volunteer, enjoying the exercise and happily rewarding them with plenty of kisses along the way.  I enjoy a soft dog bed and relaxing on the couch with my people!  Toys get my attention as well, so let’s PLAY! / Other than not wanting to be in a crate too much, I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a wonderful home with a family that will be active and have fun with me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 14, 2026, 7:14 am

Story
Queenie is a nine-month-old, 40-pound cattle dog mix. This little low rider was the only one left at the shelter when time was up, so we just took her too, what’s one more? Queenie was terrified at first and had to be carried from the shelter, but a foster took her after she was vetted. She is doing great now, loves the foster dogs and kids, and seems relaxed, as if she knows she is safe. If you would like to foster or adopt this cute girl, please submit an application. ##2666029##

Story
Tweety is a cattle dog (likely mixed with a Smooth Coat Collie), which basically means she’s equal parts brilliant, busy, and always three steps ahead of everyone in the room. If there’s a job to do, Tweety has already done it… and improved it. Right now, Tweety is training in our Beyond The Bars program, where she’s channeling all that lively puppy energy and sharp intelligence into focus, structure, and partnership. She’s the kind of dog who makes you laugh one minute and say “how did you even figure that out?!” the next — constantly observing, learning, and engaging with everything and everyone around her. Whether she’s zipping through training exercises, locking eyes with her handler like she’s solving a puzzle, or soaking up a quiet moment of connection, Tweety is showing just how much potential she has. The puppy in her means her attention span is simiar to a gnat - lol - but when she's focused, she's really focused! April 29, 2026, 12:17 am

Story
Meet Odie! Odie is one of many dogs we have saved from rural Upson County lately. Being a very small, rural shelter the dogs are only held for a very short stray hold before they are at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully they have a very dedicated group of volunteers who work tirelessly to try to get the dogs to safety before their time runs out Odie is about a year and a half old and not even 35 lbs - what a great age and size! It's hard to know for sure what breed he is given that he was a stray but those tell tale spots could mean there is some heeler or maybe even bird dog in there. We prefer to think of him as 100% purebred Rescue Mutt - the best kid of dog there is! Odie is great with other dogs and has learned to really love his crate as well. He's a super social guy who was a big hit at one of our adoption events recently - stopping to greet all of the new people he came upon. This well rounded lovebug will make an amazing addition to one lucky family! Interested in adopting? Email adrienne@rescuemega.org or fill out an adoption application on our website- www.rmgdogs.org ##2349029##

Story
Preface: I have a back injury. Meet Energetic, DEVOTED, Smart Tucker whom I rescued the night B4 he was going to the LB. Adopted from the LB by someone who did not know what they were getting, the poor guy had lived in an apt. in a crate for most of the day for 2 YRS; thought indoor pads were the Only place to do his business. We have broken him of that but he does sometimes use the pad of our senior Aussie. He gets along with other dogs but doesnt realize his strength w our mini Aussies but our Bijon Can control him, LOL. Tucker wants to be a constant companion w someone to give him lots of love, activity & a job & would probably be a fantastic herding dog, with training, or an incredible agility dog. He can be Very focused. He is protective of our space & MUST NOT be approached initially without an owner present (Delivery beware). Then he will be their bestie. Throw him a stick! HAPPYDOG!

Story
Remy is a 2-year-old spayed purebred Australian Shepherd looking for her forever home. She came to us from a breeder and has been loved every single day since which is exactly why finding the right home for her matters so much. Remy loves deeply and bonds closely. She struggles with separation anxiety, and honestly that just tells you everything about who she is, she is a dog who gives her whole heart. Her greatest comfort is being petted and cuddled, and she will lean into you like you are the safest place she has ever known. She is absolutely wonderful with children gentle, sweet, and patient in a way that melts your heart. She does best as the only pet in the home, as other dogs tend to stress her out. She deserves a calm, peaceful space where she can fully relax and thrive. Remy needs someone who understands that her anxiety isn’t a flaw it’s just a piece of her heart that needs the right person to hold it.
