Story
AN ACTIVE & FUN FELLOW:  Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 33 lbs. Hello – I’m Cody!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’ve been soaking up the love ever since!  As much as I love the great volunteers, I am ready to meet my new family and start my ‘happily ever after’ with them!  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program having fun and learning a lot!  I was adopted for 2 months, and though my family loved me a lot, I just needed more stimulation and exercise than they could provide, so I’m back with Mostly Mutts looking for the right fit.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was friendly with them.  I also played nicely with a 3-year-old larger dog in a temporary foster home, with just a few playfully mouthy moments (common for my breed mix).  I can also play alongside with a toy in my mouth, so if you have a nice doggie at home already who sounds like a match for my play style, let’s meet and see if we can be pals.  In my temporary adoptive home, I got to go to doggie day care at times and enjoyed that! / Cats unknown. / I liked the kids I met with my temp. adoptive home, though I don’t recall their ages, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over, as I am pretty strong and active. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a busy guy with a friendly demeanor.  In fact, I’ve heard the volunteers describe me as ‘a strong and lovable guy with a sweet nature’.  I’ll either charm you with my handsome good looks or delight you with my contagious playfulness!  Though I’m quite energetic, I did calm down for my shelter bath and the great rubs and pets that came with that.  I have been a bit playfully mouthy and wiggly during leashing at the shelter and leave my kennel raring to go, so be ready for my enthusiasm, right out of the gate.  I’m just so happy to be out and about with the volunteers!  They say that I do the most adorable head tilts when I hear certain sounds, like whistling – so cute!  I was a good home office dog in a temp. foster home, relaxing in a dog bed while my person worked.  I did a little counter surfing, but this is trainable.  Affectionate and fun, I’m ready to bring lots of fun and adventure to my new home! / My energy level is 6-8 so I’ll want my family to be active with me! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer.  I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘down’, and ‘drop it’ commands as well as how to utilize proper door etiquette.  Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, though I don’t want to spend a lot of time in my crate.  I didn’t want to be crated at night in my temp. foster, but maybe I won’t need a crate in my new home. / My former adoptive family reported that I did well with my potty manners while with them, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home.  • LIKES/DISLIKES: I LOVE being petted and will happily spend time hanging out with a volunteer on the front bench after my walks – collecting all the tummy scratches / rubs you wish to give!  I’m also quite treat motivated, so have those handy when you want my undivided attention.  I went on a sunset hike with a volunteer, enjoying the exercise and happily rewarding them with plenty of kisses along the way.  I enjoy a soft dog bed and relaxing on the couch with my people!  Toys get my attention as well, so let’s PLAY! / Other than not wanting to be in a crate too much, I can’t think of any real dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a wonderful home with a family that will be active and have fun with me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 14, 2026, 5:26 pm

Story
Bear is an 8 month old male Australian Cattle Dog mix, whose adorably expressive ears and hopeful smile are sure to win your heart! He is a shy, tender-hearted pup who’s still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. Bear was a young puppy when brought into the shelter with his siblings, so he has basically grown up without knowing the comforts of a home. Yet Bear has so many wonderful traits that will make him an amazing companion, with his lovable nature, adorable playfulness, and gentle spirit. Plus he is young and eager to learn from his human friends. Bear doesn’t ask for much, simply hoping to find a loving family to call his own … the ones who will give him the security and love to allow him to blossom into the loyal devoted companion he was born to be! The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Story
River is a 1 year old female Australian Cattle Dog mix who may be small for her breed, but she’s overflowing with personality and love! River is easy on a leash with the cutest little strut, and might even “talk” with her doggy neighbors as she passes by their cages (a little sass included!). Once she is in the park, it’s all about fun … greeting other pups and running along the fenceline with them, enjoying every joyful minute. And her favorite part? You! River absolutely loves affection and will gaze up at you with the most adoring eyes … it’s impossible to resist. Add in her adorable nubby tail, beautiful merle coat, and those perky ears, and you’ve got one unforgettable girl. River is ready to bring her playful spirit and loving heart to a forever home. Skylar is a super sweet girl! She has lots of energy and needs an active owner. She is needing to be rehomed at no fault of her own. My work schedule is super chaotic and I don’t have the time I feel like she deserves.
