Story
Knox has been in my life since she was 8 weeks old, she is now 8 years old. She does well with kids and other pets. If you have company over, she doesn’t know a stranger and anyone willing to throw a ball or give ear/neck scratches is instantly a new best friend. Unfortunately, I recently got divorced and my life has been flipped on its head. Knox needs a fenced in yard or a highly active family. She still has lots of energy and needs a job to do. I just cannot provide that to her right now and she deserves more than what I can currently provide. I am hoping to be able to find a family that will love her just as much as I do. I’m open to any and all questions! I have no doubt that someone will fall in love with her.

Story
Stitch loves nothing more than his people, his foster siblings, belly rubs, and his tennis ball! Hes an energetic guy who is down to do whatever you want to do walk, hike, go for a ride, hang out at a restaurant patio, lay in the sun, lounge on the couch you name it except for swimming (which his foster parents will be working on now that the weather is nice). He is super smart, extremely athletic, and loyal. He would love a home with or without kids but definitely without cats. He is cautious when meeting new canine friends but does well with slow introductions. Once he is comfortable with his new friends he loves to play and cuddle. Stitch knows all his basic commands; sit, stay, no, shake, walks well on a leash, and his recall is amazing. He is e-collar trained, although he really doesnt need it anymore as he listens quite well. Did we mention how handsome he is?Apply at www.fursisters.org today!Additional information:We are not a shelter. All of our dogs are at private fosters. We only set up meets with approved adopters. If you want to meet our adoptable dogs, many pups will be at Brewhound for Fur Sisters Friday most Fridays from 6-8 pm.Adopters are chosen based on the best fit for each dog, it is not first come, first served. We do not 'hold' dogs. Please note: we have many dogs who are not yet listed as available due to the availability of volunteer time to post or because they are puppies. You'll be feeling chipper with Chip by your side! He's a very handsome Australian Cattle Dog mix, and only about a year old. He's medium-sized and housetrained. Chip is friendly with other dogs here at the shelter, so bring yours over for a meet-and-greet! He's affectionate and eager to give you a lifetime of loving. He has a white coat with black markings that you could call chocolate chips... plus one brown eye and one blue eye. And, a great smile! He's neutered, microchipped and up to date on his shots, so he's ready to go home with you. Please come on over and ask for Chip!

Story
This is Stella. Please read the whole post before applying to adopt. She is a very special girl with special needs.Stella came to us from living on her own, not knowing the comfort of a home or even a human touch. She had to be trapped for her safety. She was in Union County, we saw her sweet little scared face and immediately stepped in to take her in to rescue. She is currently in foster with me, Kelly, the founder of the rescue. She is a lot of work but 100% worth the effort. Stella is around 10 months old. She came to us in December right before Christmas. She was living outside on someone's property and had to be trapped due to her fear of humans. She has made progress here and loves our dogs. She looks to them for comfort and guidance. She is very playful with them now that she is settled in. She is still very scared of new people and things. We are working on that, but it's a slow process. She was pretty much feral when she came to us. She is housebroken now here, but that may take time in a new environment until she is comfortable again. She sleeps in bed with us now, and that's where she is most comfortable with humans. She likes pets and belly runs when in bed. When out in the house, she still is very timid and will run if you try to pet or pick up. She is getting better with that too..but slow going. I'm trying to introduce her to more people to her used to it. She is a flight risk, so a very secure fenced yard is required. We are starting to work on getting her used to a leash, but that still terrifies her. So we are taking it slow in the backyard for now. I'm happy to chat more about her and her needs via phone call with anyone interested and willing to put in the work. Our vet thinks she is a mini aussie mix of some sort. She is adorable and sweet..just very scared and needs someone willing to have patience with her. Serious inquiries only, please. She will stay with us until the perfect home is found for her. Dogs like Stella are hard, but they teach us so much in the process of teaching her about the world she doesn't understand yet.

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Jacksonville, FL Meet Blue! He is an 4 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 47 lbs. He is microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention, but isn’t neutered. Blue is fearful around strangers (he warms up quicker to females when introduced properly). He hasn’t been tested around cats or other dogs, but is fine with the dogs inside of his home. No kids, due to his reactivity! He loves to play fetch, run around the yard, and snuggle up on your lap! Blue has had 3 bite incidents last year. He bit a toddler on the forehead. He bit a child when they approached him on the couch with a big toy. He also bit the owner’s toddler after she approached him and tried to pet him in the kitchen. The owner is surrendering him because he has bitten their young children and shown aggression towards them. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for him, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Blue. Owner’s Contact Information: Dayana Alvarez at dayana_01@hotmail.com.
