Spike Energetic Cattle Dog Mix | Adventure Seeker | Herding Enthusiast Objective: Seeking an active and adventurous forever home where I can put my energy and instincts to work. Would excel for a farm or a home that loves outdoor activities like hiking, running, or four-wheeling. Skills & Strengths: - High Energy: Always ready for action, whether it's exploring trails, chasing a ball, or helping with chores. - Herding Instincts: Natural talent for keeping everyone in line—humans and animals alike. - Playfulness: Loves toys, games, and interactive play sessions. Frisbees are my favorite but they don't last long. - Adventure Buddy: Thrives in outdoor environments and enjoys being part of the action. - Quick Learner: Smart and eager to take on challenges with the right guidance. Areas for Growth: - Mouthy When Excited: I get so thrilled about life that I sometimes use my mouth to communicate since I don't have thumbs—training and consistency will help. - Mischievous: My curiosity can get the best of me, but it just adds to my charm! Give me a toy or puzzle to pass the time. Ideal Environment: - A spacious property where I can have a "job" to channel my energy and instincts. - An active owner or family who loves outdoor adventures and appreciates a playful, hardworking companion. - Someone experienced with herding breeds who can help guide my energy in positive ways. Fun Fact: I’m the kind of dog who will keep you entertained with my clever antics, big personality, and never-ending enthusiasm for life! Ready to meet your adventure partner? Story
Luna is an absolute sweetheart! She is great with other dogs and kids, and will play all day long if you let her. She fetches and knows basic commands. She has been slightly stubborn to train as is normal with her breeds. She does seem to have some separation anxiety, however it has been improving lately with the work we’ve been doing. The only reason we are wanting to find her a new home is our other dog does not get along with Luna. We don’t want anything to happen to her, so it is with much sadness we put her up for rehoming. What we believe Luna needs. -someone who doesn’t leave for the majority of the day (anxiety) -someone with other pets that are good with a energetic puppy. -someone willing and able to commit to training a stereotypical stubborn breed.

Story
Rosie is a sweet girl that my husband and I saved from a kill shelter. She was pregnant at the time and we were able to rehome all her puppies free of charge. Unfortunately Rosie has not been able to find a forever family. We are in desperate need of one due to my recent diagnosis and not being able to care for all of our dogs anymore. Please consider giving Rosie a loving family. She truly deserves it.

Story
Meet Giblets! Small in stature but big in personality this little ball of energy will keep you on your toes. She’s a 2 year old female unaltered Australian Cattle Dog Mix - mixed with what we don’t know - but she’s 100% cattle dog. Cattle dogs also know as red heelers or blue heelers, are considered one of the top 10 most intelligent dog breeds and Giblets is no exception. This red heeler will be the most loyal and energetic companion you have ever met. Quite frankly we don’t know why she hasn’t been snatched up by now. If you like an active ball chasing, frisbee catching partner she’s your gal. This amazing working dog is not only strong and resilient but easily trainable. ACD’s are known to excel at dock diving and agility but they do have a hard off switch to relax and be that couch potato you need, but only for a little while. She has work to do. She will protect your home and loved ones making her the perfect family pet. Every dog lover needs the experience of being “owned” by an Australian Cattle Dog. If you’re ready for an adventure and a lifetime of love, consider adopting Giblets today! For more up to date information on this dog please go to our website @ https://www.playk9rescue.org/adopt-a-dog The adoption fee for this pet covers the cost of care and training which may have been for several weeks or several months depending on the health and training needs. The fee also covers all vet bills during this time to ensure his/her health is improved or maintained and provides you with assurance that this dog has been well cared for while in our possession and evaluated to meet your home's needs. Included in this fee is also life- long training support provided by PLAY! K9 Academy located in Bradenton, FL as well as Life time microchip registration. When you adopt from a local shelter, you may not receive any medical history for this dog nor will you receive any behavioral history. We hope you understand that the minimal adoption fee we are asking is to continue our mission to rescue unwanted herding and working breeds from shelters/owners and get them adopted to their forever home. PLAY! K9 Rescue will pay for the spay/neuter of this adopted dog. The spay/neuter must be done at a clinic or veterinarian's office approved by PLAY! K9 Rescue. If the adopter chooses to take the pet to their own veterinarian for the spay/neuter procedure, PLAY! K9 Rescue will refund the cost equivalent to an approved PLAY! K9 Rescue veterinarian or clinic. All of our unaltered pets have a fully refundable deposit of $150.00 included within the adoption fee. Once the pet is altered at the appropriate time and proof supplied to our rescue, the adopter will be reimbursed $150.00. Our adoption contract explains this process in detail.
