Spike Energetic Cattle Dog Mix | Adventure Seeker | Herding Enthusiast Objective: Seeking an active and adventurous forever home where I can put my energy and instincts to work. Would excel for a farm or a home that loves outdoor activities like hiking, running, or four-wheeling. Skills & Strengths: - High Energy: Always ready for action, whether it's exploring trails, chasing a ball, or helping with chores. - Herding Instincts: Natural talent for keeping everyone in line—humans and animals alike. - Playfulness: Loves toys, games, and interactive play sessions. Frisbees are my favorite but they don't last long. - Adventure Buddy: Thrives in outdoor environments and enjoys being part of the action. - Quick Learner: Smart and eager to take on challenges with the right guidance. Areas for Growth: - Mouthy When Excited: I get so thrilled about life that I sometimes use my mouth to communicate since I don't have thumbs—training and consistency will help. - Mischievous: My curiosity can get the best of me, but it just adds to my charm! Give me a toy or puzzle to pass the time. Ideal Environment: - A spacious property where I can have a "job" to channel my energy and instincts. - An active owner or family who loves outdoor adventures and appreciates a playful, hardworking companion. - Someone experienced with herding breeds who can help guide my energy in positive ways. Story
**Meet Wiley – The Tiny Herding Dynamo! ** Wiley may be small, but don’t underestimate this *pocket-sized powerhouse*! This high-energy red heeler mix is always on the move, ready to herd anything that crosses his path—whether it’s toys, other dogs, or even his humans (someone’s gotta keep you in line, right?). Independent and sharp as a whip, Wiley knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it. He’s the kind of dog who thrives with a job to do, whether it’s chasing a ball, learning new tricks, or making sure everyone in the house is exactly where they *should* be. But don’t worry—after a long day of running the show, he’s happy to curl up for a well-earned rest (preferably somewhere with a good view of his "herd"). If you’re looking for a spunky, smart, and determined little sidekick who’s always up for an adventure, Wiley is your guy. Just be ready to keep up—because this cowboy never slows down!

Story
Luna is an absolute sweetheart! She is great with other dogs and kids, and will play all day long if you let her. She loves snuggling on the couch. She fetches and knows basic commands. She will need leash training or a large yard. The only reason we are wanting to find her a new home is our other dog does not get along with Luna. We don’t want anything to happen to her, so it is with much sadness we are putting her up for rehoming. What we believe Luna needs someone with other pets that are good with a playful puppy.

Story
Bandit is a young and handsome energetic pup. He is around 40lbs and is a year old. He needs a person willing to spend time continuing his training as he is young and still in the chewing stage. He is treat and attention motivated. He is crate trained, rides well in car, he has made great strides on leash walking and potty training. Bandit has a silly, fun personality. He is very curious and has a lot of potential, I would say medium to high energy but he does have an off switch. He was a little nervous during thunderstorms but just needs to know where his person is. Bandit is an all around love bug that gets along well with other dogs, is neutered, current on immunizations and on preventatives. If he sounds perfect for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration ane transfer to his new furever family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue eforts.

Story
Meet Giblets! Small in stature but big in personality this little ball of energy will keep you on your toes. She’s a 2 year old female unaltered Australian Cattle Dog Mix - mixed with what we don’t know - but she’s 100% cattle dog. Cattle dogs also know as red heelers or blue heelers, are considered one of the top 10 most intelligent dog breeds and Giblets is no exception. This red heeler will be the most loyal and energetic companion you have ever met. Quite frankly we don’t know why she hasn’t been snatched up by now. If you like an active ball chasing, frisbee catching partner she’s your gal. This amazing working dog is not only strong and resilient but easily trainable. ACD’s are known to excel at dock diving and agility but they do have a hard off switch to relax and be that couch potato you need, but only for a little while. She has work to do. She will protect your home and loved ones making her the perfect family pet. Every dog lover needs the experience of being “owned” by an Australian Cattle Dog. If you’re ready for an adventure and a lifetime of love, consider adopting Giblets today! For more up to date information on this dog please go to our website @ https://www.playk9rescue.org/adopt-a-dog The adoption fee for this pet covers the cost of care and training which may have been for several weeks or several months depending on the health and training needs. PLAY! K9 Rescue will pay for the spay/neuter of this adopted dog. The spay/neuter must be done at a clinic or veterinarian's office approved by PLAY! K9 Rescue. If the adopter chooses to take the pet to their own veterinarian for the spay/neuter procedure, PLAY! K9 Rescue will refund the cost equivalent to an approved PLAY! K9 Rescue veterinarian or clinic. All of our unaltered pets have a fully refundable deposit of $150.00 included within the adoption fee.
