Story
This girl is 26 pounds of energy and love. She had to be captured by the local animal control officer and was prettified. She was lunging and growling and very upset. But something in her eye just pleaded for me to help her. So I picked her up from the shelter and brought her home where George (our cat) helped me show her that humans and other animals are good. George helped her calm down and let her guard down and after about an hour she was giving me lots of kisses. She is hilarious and is definitely a lover. She may need a couple of minutes to feel safe, but once she does, she is glued to you. She is extremely smart, loves to go for rides, walks and hikes or any adventure (we went kayaking) She prefers not to be left alone as she does have some separation anxiety. This little girl is ready for her happily ever after. Please visit funnyfarmpets.org to read all about our TN based rescue and how the adoption process works. Her adoption fee is $325 and if transport is necessary that is an additional $200 We are hoping to find her someone local to TN. She is a special girl who will need a special mom or dad to navigate through her fears. I may end up writing a book about her as she has given me lots of great stories.

Story
Justice is ready!!!! He is 48 pounds of pure delight. He loves all people and all dogs. He loves kids and would love a fun active family. He loves to go for walks, hikes, swims and he loves to ride in the car or the side by side. He does chase the cows and horses so we don't recommend a home with anything he chases. If you have an adult dog and want another adult that will 100% get along, this is your guy. We think he was born about January of 23 so he is a perfect age. He loves to fetch and have belly rubs and is finished with that destructive puppy phase of life yet he has a puppy attitude. He is so very sweet and a fun guy. If you think you are fun and active enough for this guy you will need to visit our website at funnyfarmpets.org to read all about our rescue and how the adoption and transport process works and to submit the application. He is fostered in TN and will travel once his adoption is finalized. His adoption fee is $325 and transport is an additional $200. He is fully vetted, happy and ready to join his forever family. This sweet boy was found on the Supreme Court steps. Apparently he was seeking justice for his past treatment. He is badly scarred and very thin but oh so sweet and friendly. He is on antibiotics now and getting all the grub he needs. He loves other dogs and is very sweet and gentle. He appears young. Maybe about a year old. He is only 36 pounds now but needs to gain at least 10 pounds. He will be a perfect medium size dog who will be a great addition to almost any home.

Story
"The Sweet Cowgirl Pup!" Are you ready to add some sweetness to your life? Meet Elsie, a lively 5 month old Australian Cattle Dog/Rat Terrier mix. Born to mama Bessie on June 4, 2024, Elsie is one of the "7 Cowgirl Puppies." DNA testing on her sister confirms their primary breeds as Australian Cattle Dog, Rat Terrier, and Australian Shepherd. She currently weighs about 15-20 lbs and is expected to grow to a medium sized dog. She has petite features and refined bone structure like her mama (mom was about 30 lbs).  Elsie has demonstrated good social skills. She's working on potty training and doing very well, learning to sit politely for pets, and is friendly with other dogs and people alike! She is up-to-date on vaccinations, crate trained, and microchipped.  From Elsie's current foster:  "Although Elsie is bred to be high energy she’s actually the perfect mix of energy levels. She will calmly hang out in her crate while I’m at work or doing something in the house that I can’t watch her. Outside she will run laps and play but never runs too far out of sight and comes every time she’s called. She will play with her toys or other dogs in the house but most likely she’s relaxing on the couch chewing a bone or taking a nap. She’s not wired or super hyper. She wants to please her humans and tries hard to figure out what’s expected from her. She’s a pleasure to foster. Her terrier DNA does have her barking at the cats and will chase them if they run but she’s working on those behaviors." Apply to meet this sweet girl today!  Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2129940##

Story
"The Ultimate Adventure Buddy!" Are you ready to add some joy to your life? Meet Dottie, a lively 5 month old Australian Cattle Dog/Rat Terrier mix. Born to mama Bessie on June 4, 2024, Dottie is one of the "7 Cowgirl Puppies." DNA testing on her sister confirms their primary breeds as  Australian Cattle Dog, Rat Terrier, and Australian Shepherd, with mom's small stature and presumed Aussie Shepherd mix dad suggesting Dottie will grow into a medium-sized dog.  From Dottie's current foster: "Dottie (or Lil’ Bit as her foster mom calls her) has blossomed lately. This bouncy little circus dog may look like a a full grown terrier but she’s actually still just a pup who is an amusing mix of smart, active breeds. She quickly masters food puzzles and is working on fetch. She sleeps through the night in her crate and is happy as long as you are nearby. She’s still mastering the art of house training but with consistency she should get the hang of it soon. She would love a doggy sibling who can match her energy and a family that is ready to exercise her mentally and physically. Once she’s done playing, Dottie likes to crash in your lap (she’s on the petite side)." Apply to meet this sweet girl today and get ready for a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and unconditional love. Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Story
Dolly and her siblings were on the side of the road hungry. She is a floppy snuggly girl and so pretty! She loves water, enjoys her siblings playing and running. She is great in the house and has been with dogs and cats. This sweetheart will make a great family member! Dolly Pawton Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.
