Story
Poptart is a very sweet and loving boy. He has spurts of energy and loves to play like any puppy but also really loves to cuddle up on your lap and take naps. Poptart is a little apprehensive of new sounds, experiences, and people but in one week has made a lot of progress on coming out of his shell. He has an overall calm and gentle personality. He is winning over our older dog with his gentle play and snuggles. He’s smart and responds well to training cues and can sit on command. He is working on potty training still and does well if taken out frequently. He sleeps in his crate and only cries for a few minutes or not at all when going in his crate. He still needs to go out once in the night. Poptart may do best in a calmer environment and needs a family with patience to help him continue to build trust and confidence.  ##2710113##

Story
Meet Archie 🐾 At just 11 weeks old, Archie is a sweet, affectionate Aussie mix who’s fully embracing his bitty puppy era. He’s got a heart as big as his paws—and a whole lot of energy to go with it! This little guy is always on the move, ready to play, explore, and turn anything into a game. He thrives on activity and will need plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation to keep his clever puppy brain happy. Archie is incredibly friendly and would do best in an active household that can keep up with his playful, go-go-go spirit. He’d especially love having another young dog around to wrestle, chase, and learn from—it would help him burn off energy and build confidence. Like any growing pup, Archie will need consistent obedience training to channel all that enthusiasm into good habits. With structure, exercise, and love, he’s going to be an amazing companion. If you’re looking for a future hiking or running buddy who will keep you active, make you laugh, and then curl up for snuggles after a big day, Archie might just be your perfect match 💛 Archie is being fostered in Castle Rock, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/archie/. Story
Harlow the 76 lbs lap dog! I said what I said, ok? Harlow is a 2 year old, male, Australian Cattle Dog/Pit Mix. This sweet, sweet boy is unfortunately, looking for a new home after his humans decided they needed a doodle type dog instead. Harlow is a loyal companion. He is affectionate and loves to kiss his foster mom and dad’s chin. He also LOVES dog friends and would be thrilled to have a playful canine companion in his home. Harlow is untrusting of kiddos and things like bicycles, etc. So, he’s looking for a kid free home – although he does grow deeply loyal to children he knows. They just need to be dog savvy. He enjoys taking sniff walks and responds well to redirection while on leash. At his prior home, Harlow jumped the split rail fence to play with the neighbors dogs. Because of this, we prefer a home with a 5-6 ft privacy fence. Harlow is house trained, crate trained, and did we say a lap dog? He has attended doggie day care and he LOVES it! He was shy and nervous with the staff at first but when they let him with the other dogs he lit up! He’s a goofy, silly, loyal, lovable companion that’s ready to move along to his true forever home. Harlow is in foster in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/harlow You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Chanel is a smart, loving, 42 lbs, cattle dog mix. She was adopted from a high intake shelter as a puppy in 2023 and was recently returned due to a move. Chanel’s time was up and she was in line to be euthanized when her story caught our eye. So, she packed her bags and got the heck outta dodge. Chanel is happy and friendly, gives kisses, loves food/treats, plays, gets the ‘zoomies’, LOVES to use her nose and sniff as much as possible (seriously…she could spend hours every day strolling along and smelling the world if anyone would walk her that long), enjoys humans and snuggles, naps and sleeps through the night, rides well in the car, and overall seems content. However, we noticed that she moves and sits a little strangely. So, we did some investigating and found that Chanel, once again, drew the short straw. Chanel’s hind legs have a few structural abnormalities. After consulting with numerous veterinarians, we concluded Chanel is best supported through pain management (as it arises) and joint supplements. Her legs, while quite abnormal, are all she’s ever known, and they are not currently preventing her from enjoying her life. Chanel’s good attitude and resilience are inspiring, and she’s also otherwise healthy. This girl doesn’t know she’s different and deserves a loving forever home just as all dogs do. Her adoptive family will need to commit to watching her weight and managing any pain symptoms as they arise to help her to lead as normal of a life as reasonably possible for as long as possible. There will come a day when her mobility/arthritis will impact her quality of life and she will need a peaceful send off over the bridge surrounded by the ones she holds dear. We can’t predict when that will be. In the meantime, this girl will remind everyone around her to live life to the fullest; we believe she has a strong purpose and will change many lives for the better. She just needs her human(s) to be open minded enough to come along with her for the ride! Chanel is good with most dogs and is well-behaved in a crate! Chanel is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/chanel/. Story
-In foster care-Edda is a striking little beauty with snowy white fur, adorable brown spotted ears, and mesmerizing blue grey eyes. She may resemble a tall Chihuahua, but she carries herself like a tiny snow white tiger, graceful, confident, and always aware of her own quiet power. This girl is a total lap dog at heart. If there is a warm spot on the couch or a free arm to curl into, Edda will find it. She loves being close to her humans and settles in quickly for snuggles. As the leader of her sister duo, Edda keeps everyone on schedule, especially at mealtime. She is loud, enthusiastic, and hilariously dramatic when she knows food is coming. She is highly food motivated, which makes training fun and easy. She is already potty pad trained and picking up new routines quickly.Edda also has a silly, spicy streak. Her foster family lovingly calls her their little piranha because she plays with big puppy gusto and a mouth full of determination. If you are looking for a confident, affectionate, personality packed puppy who will keep you laughing and fill your lap with love, Edda is ready to be your girl.I am in foster!
