Story
Hi, I my name is October. My foster family nicknamed me Handsome, because I am just a dashing little dude with the BEST and most EXPRESSIVE eyebrows! I am a pretty chill dude who does love to play, but I will be the first to find a human’s lap to fall asleep on when I get tired. I am EXTREMELY people focused and love playing with the little kids in my foster home. Snuggling with them in the evenings is my favorite! I have some adult dogs in the home too and they are fun to play with as well! I want a forever family so bad!! I was born on October 19th and am now 12 weeks old. I am came to Colorado from a high-kill shelter in Houston, TX when I was 4 weeks old with my mama and siblings. I have been socialized with people ever since. Did I mention I am a super smart boy? I am already crate trained and working hard on house breaking. I already use the dog door. My mama, September, is just 45lbs, so I will probably be around a 45-50lb medium sized dog. And as for my breed? Well, my mama is a red headed shepherd/pittie mix…maybe? It is all a guessing game really. My foster mom says we are perfect Heinz 57 dogs! If you are looking for a peoople focused puppy that loves a good romp around then chilling on the couch for some Netflix, I am your dude!! October is being fostered in Castle Rock, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/october/. Story
Harlow the 76 lbs lap dog! I said what I said, ok? Harlow is a 2 year old, male, Australian Cattle Dog/Pit Mix. This sweet, sweet boy is unfortunately, looking for a new home after his humans decided they needed a doodle type dog instead. Harlow is a loyal companion. He is affectionate and loves to kiss his foster mom and dad’s chin. He also LOVES dog friends and would be thrilled to have a playful canine companion in his home. Harlow is untrusting of kiddos and things like bicycles, etc. So, he’s looking for a kid free home – although he does grow deeply loyal to children he knows. They just need to be dog savvy. He enjoys taking sniff walks and responds well to redirection while on leash. At his prior home, Harlow jumped the split rail fence to play with the neighbors dogs. Because of this, we prefer a home with a 5-6 ft privacy fence. Harlow is house trained, crate trained, and did we say a lap dog? He has attended doggie day care and he LOVES it! He was shy and nervous with the staff at first but when they let him with the other dogs he lit up! He’s a goofy, silly, loyal, lovable companion that’s ready to move along to his true forever home. Harlow is in foster in Loveland, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/harlow You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Hi, I my name is December and I am an adorable little guy! My photo makes me look much bigger and more serious than I really am. I am still a fuzzy, floppy puppy. I am a super playful dude who loves his toys and playing with my siblings and the adult dogs in my foster home. But what I love most is PEOPLE!! I am pretty obessed with the little kids in my home and my foster mama, well, following her around is a hobby of mine. After a good play session, I enjoy snuggling on the couch with my foster family. My mama (who is the sweetest dog) is just 45lbs, so I will probably be around a 45-50lb medium sized dog. And as for my breed? Well, my mama is a red headed shepherd/pittie mix…maybe? It is all a guessing game really. My foster mom says we are perfect Heinz 57 dogs! I do have my mama’s ears though! I am sooo soft!!! If you are looking for a people focused puppy who loves to play and then hard core snuggle, I am your guy! I would love to find my forever family where I can go on walks or hikes, play with people and even other dogs. Is that you? Story
"Meet Ludo (also known as Luey and occasionally Ludifer). Once upon a time, Ludo was feral, pancaked to the floor in fear, and convinced humans were a deeply suspicious concept. That chapter? Closed. This is his glow-up era. Ludo is now a certified love sponge who lives for belly rubs, attention, and being as physically close to his people as possible. He is the most loyal shadow you will ever meet — laying at your feet everywhere you go, ensuring you accidentally step on him multiple times an hour just so he can confirm you still care. He desperately wants to be loved by humans and dogs and has fully learned how wonderful affection is. He’s a people-pleaser, a dog-pleaser, and just generally thrilled to be included in anything at all. Strangers can still earn a cautious side-eye at first, but the progress he’s made is remarkable — and once you’re in, you’re in. Potty accidents? None in over a month. We’re calling it: potty trained. Belly rubs? His love language. Food? He can eat his body weight and then ask what’s for dessert. Feeding time is his Super Bowl. Ludo loves playing with other dogs and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. He’ll also happily play fetch with himself for an hour if no one is available — self-sufficient king behavior. His only quirks: he occasionally decides the kennel is an unforgivable injustice and will howl accordingly (other nights he sleeps like an angel), and car rides over an hour make his tummy protest. Worth noting. Still perfect. From terrified pancake to affectionate, loyal, goofy companion, Ludo has become the dog who just wants to belong — and once he does, he’ll never leave your side." Ludo is in foster in Longmont, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/ludo. Hi, I am April, I am a super sweet little girl with the coolest patch over my bright, blue eye! My photo makes me look bigger and more serious than I am…I still a floppy, soft puppy!! I have such an even keeled personality and am up for anything. Hanging out and playing with people? That’s my FAVORITE thing! I am extremely human focused. I love playing with the little kids in my home, then chilling next to them on the couch, chewing a bone in the evenings. My foster family have great laps to sleep on. I love cuddling! I enjoying playing with my siblings and the other adult dogs in the house. Sometimes my siblings and I team up for a great game of tug-o-war with one of the adult dogs in the home. It is so fun! I was born on October 19th and am now 12 weeks old. I am came to Colorado from a high-kill shelter in Houston, TX when I was 4 weeks old with my mama and siblings. Story
Hi, my name is Red! I am an energetic and playful boy who is looking for my new home. I like to play with balls and learn new tricks. I am selective with my dog friends, so I need to find a home where I can be the only dog. I also need a home without kids under 12 years old because I am shy, but then jumpy and mouthy. I would love to go home with you and go on advetures together!

Story
I received Gunner as a birthday gift from my kids! I was diagnosed with MS and thought I was able to take care of him! He's very spoiled and I think i'm doing him more harm than good seeing as how I'm in an apartment! He needs to have a yard or alot of acreage to run around! He's not an apartment dog! I care so much for him, I look at him when we are walking by ourselves and he loves it! I always have him on leash when there is no fences, because he or I think he has no recall! But when we go to the dog park he doesn't leave my side! It takes him a minute to warm up to others dogs mainly because he's afraid. When he was a puppy he was afraid of everything! He is leash aggressive and we are trying to work on that but he is too strong for me so I don't walk him on leash around other dogs! I have an electric shock collar for him, but I dont like to use it if I don't have to! I hope that his new owner would love him as much as I do!
