Hi, I my name is October. My foster family nicknamed me Handsome, because I am just a dashing little dude with the BEST and most EXPRESSIVE eyebrows! I am a pretty chill dude who does love to play, but I will be the first to find a human’s lap to fall asleep on when I get tired. I am EXTREMELY people focused and love playing with the little kids in my foster home. Snuggling with them in the evenings is my favorite! I have some adult dogs in the home too and they are fun to play with as well! I want a forever family so bad!! I was born on October 19th and am now 12 weeks old. I am came to Colorado from a high-kill shelter in Houston, TX when I was 4 weeks old with my mama and siblings. I have been socialized with people ever since. Did I mention I am a super smart boy? I am already crate trained and working hard on house breaking. I already use the dog door. My mama, September, is just 45lbs, so I will probably be around a 45-50lb medium sized dog. And as for my breed? Well, my mama is a red headed shepherd/pittie mix…maybe? It is all a guessing game really. My foster mom says we are perfect Heinz 57 dogs! Harlow the 76 lbs lap dog! I said what I said, ok? Harlow is a 2 year old, male, Australian Cattle Dog/Pit Mix. This sweet, sweet boy is unfortunately, looking for a new home after his humans decided they needed a doodle type dog instead. Harlow is a loyal companion. He is affectionate and loves to kiss his foster mom and dad’s chin. He also LOVES dog friends and would be thrilled to have a playful canine companion in his home. Harlow is untrusting of kiddos and things like bicycles, etc. So, he’s looking for a kid free home – although he does grow deeply loyal to children he knows. They just need to be dog savvy. He enjoys taking sniff walks and responds well to redirection while on leash. At his prior home, Harlow jumped the split rail fence to play with the neighbors dogs. Because of this, we prefer a home with a 5-6 ft privacy fence. Harlow is house trained, crate trained, and did we say a lap dog? He has attended doggie day care and he LOVES it! He was shy and nervous with the staff at first but when they let him with the other dogs he lit up! He’s a goofy, silly, loyal, lovable companion that’s ready to move along to his true forever home. I received Gunner as a birthday gift from my kids! I was diagnosed with MS and thought I was able to take care of him! He's very spoiled and I think i'm doing him more harm than good seeing as how I'm in an apartment! He needs to have a yard or alot of acreage to run around! He's not an apartment dog! I care so much for him, I look at him when we are walking by ourselves and he loves it! I always have him on leash when there is no fences, because he or I think he has no recall! But when we go to the dog park he doesn't leave my side! It takes him a minute to warm up to others dogs mainly because he's afraid. When he was a puppy he was afraid of everything! He is leash aggressive and we are trying to work on that but he is too strong for me so I don't walk him on leash around other dogs! I have an electric shock collar for him, but I dont like to use it if I don't have to! I hope that his new owner would love him as much as I do!
