Story
Cooper, Blue Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 40 lbs. Cooper tends to be shy at first but warms up pretty quick. He has a lot of energy and loves playing with Junie going on walks and exploring with her. He LOVES attention. He is a very loving and loyal dog with the silliest personality. I think he may be more human than dog. He gets along with other dogs but does take a minute to acclimate to them. He loves to give kisses (I think he was a lizard in his past life…hahaha). Junie, Australian Shepherd/Heeler, 4.5 yrs., 40-45 lbs. Junie is a very loving and loyal dog. She is the boss and loves keeping Cooper in line. She likes to go on walks and explore with him. She gets along with other dogs great, but she will growl when she has had her fill. She will not nip or bite. She is a bit more relaxed and laid back than Cooper, but still loves to play around with him. She also is a bit of an attention hog. She will stare through your soul until you acknowledge her. She is very in tune with human emotion and will snuggle with you when you are sad. She’s a very sweet soul. She also may be more human than dog. They are a bonded pair. They have grown up together and I would hate to separate them. They are soulmates and I would love for them to stay together. I understand that this is a lot to ask, but they are so worth it! We are having to re-home them due to a move across the country. This means we will be living out of a small camper and traveling all over the southeast. I don’t feel that this is a fair life for my pups to live. They love to run and play, and they wouldn’t get this freedom if they came with us.

Story
Hello - my name is Frankie! I'm from Texas and guessed to be a Lab / Cattle Dog mix. I am a handsome pup with lots of energy, hoping to find my furever home in Colorado! I'm about 2 years old and weigh aboout 68 lbs, I love to run and play ball and would do best with a big fenced yard and an outgoing family willing to spend time training with me and include me on adventures. I'm confident, kinda selective about my dog-friends (does best with submissive females), and also a quick learner - especially if you have hot dogs. Sure would be great if you could come by Windsor and meet me!

Meet MILO! Milo is a handsome 7 month old Cattle dog mix around 35 lbs. He is a sweet and friendly pup, and true to his breed, he has lots of energy. He is a playful, fun-loving pup who enjoys his people and dogs alike. He gives out many kisses and loves getting pets. He is good with kids and enjoys chasing after his foster family during games of tag. Milo is learning manners and about potty training in a home without a dog door, but is house trained with a dog door. He is a smart boy and knows "sit" and shake”! He would do good with another active and playful dog, or with an active human... He also got his first taste of snow and LOVES it!! A yard with a fence to run and play is a plus... Come say helloooooo to Milo. He is waiting in Ft Collins!

Story
Harlow the 76 lbs lap dog! I said what I said, ok? Harlow is a 1 year old, male, Australian Cattle Dog/Pit Mix. This sweet, sweet boy is unfortunately, looking for a new home. You see, Harlow has springs on his feet. These springs sometimes land him on the other side of the fence where he doesn’t belong and his family is having a hard time keeping him contained. Harlow LOVES dog friends and he just leaves to go seek out canine companions to romp around with. So, he’s looking for a home with a 5-6 ft privacy fence and a canine companion that likes to wrestle and play. Harlow does well with the children in his home, however, he isn’t the most social guy and can be growly and on edge with new people, so we feel a home without a lot of comers and goers would be best for him. He warms up, but his humans should be mindful of his skepticism and help him learn to trust accordingly. He’s house trained, crate trained, and did we say a lap dog? Harlow has attended doggie day care and he LOVES it! However, he was shy and nervous with the staff but when they finally let him with the other dogs he lit up! Harlow is in foster in Thornton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/harlow. Story
Ace! He’s ready to be your ace in the hole! Ace is a 2.5-year-old, male, Cattle dog mix. He’s a bigger dude, at approx 69 lbs. Ace is amazing with dogs, nearly perfect in a home, and knows a variety of tricks. He was adopted from MHCR as a young pup, however, as his human family grew, Ace became increasingly nervous around the small kiddos that came along. He’s never acted out or aggressively, he just gets anxious and uncomfortable. Therefore, Ace is seeking an adult only home without toddlers. Older kiddos are likely ok. Ace is a food motivated fellow, and his family has noted that all it takes is the right treat to get him to make the right choices. Ace is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/ace/. Story
Poor Kino was found by a dumpster in Texas. We don’t know how long he was on the streets, BUT we do know the street life was no life for him. He loves people and seems to have lived in a home at some point in his life. He is around 3 years old, about 55 pounds, and we assume a heeler type mix. After he was found by the dumpster, he ended up at a high-kill shelter in Houston and was euthanasia listed for space before he came to MHCR. He was very sick when first rescued; he was underweight and battling an infection. After some TLC in his foster home and various medical screens and antibiotics, he is doing much better now and is ready to find his family! Kino has done well with various other dogs, and he likes kids. He likes to play but is also low-maintenance in that he is crate trained, quiet, good on leash, and sleeps through the night. Pretty much perfect, right? Kino is a very smart, loving, and attentive dog who deserves the best from here on out. Please apply if you think there is space for him in your family! Kino is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/kino You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.
