Currently in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS, Mylo is ready to transport out of state once his forever family is approved and ready to fall in love. Let’s start with the obvious: Mylo has a perma-blep. That’s right—his tongue is just a little too long for his mouth, and it’s almost always peeking out like he’s mid-lick or permanently saying, “hi.” A vet has checked it out and confirmed there’s nothing wrong—he was just born with extra tongue and endless flavor to sample. It doesn’t cause him pain, but it does mean he occasionally needs a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage—again, no cause for concern, just more proof that this boy was truly “born this way.” We like to say he’s one part goofball, one part model, and 100% original. Mylo is an affectionate, silly, and curious guy who loves to play and explore. He has a bit of that classic Cattle Dog energy—he thrives with daily activity, enjoys long walks, and loves a good romp in the yard. He plays well with dogs of all sizes and currently lives in a multi-dog home with pups ranging from tiny Chihuahuas to an 80-pound Boxer mix. He does well reading other dogs’ social cues and adjusts his play accordingly. He’s also very vocal when he plays or gets excited—growling, grunting, and making silly noises are just part of his charm. Once you get to know him, you’ll realize it’s just his voice, not a sign of anything aggressive. He enjoys meeting new dogs on walks, though he might sound a little intense at first—again, that vocal streak—but he’s friendly and well-mannered. He’s shown some interest in chasing cats, so to be safe, a feline-free home is best. Mylo has met children of various ages through his foster family and has done well overall. Due to his occasional jumping and enthusiasm, we recommend a home with older kids (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an active dog. True to his namesake, Joey could be easily mistaken for a baby kangaroo! This sweet young guy is as bouncy as they come and would love to hop right into your lap. Our Training & Behavior team has been having fun teaching Joey all sorts of life skills, including how to walk on leash without jumping and how to relax with a chew when it`s chill out time, and he`ll benefit from a home that wants to keep working on these skills. Rocky, blue heeler / red heeler mix, 8 yo, neutered male, 42 lb Rocky is very calm, sweet and seems to always be in a good mood, happy to join any activity or just be around. He has unique fuzzy heeler coloring, mostly silver wit a little bit of red. He is loving and dog friendly, wags his tail when meets a new dog. Loves to run and investigate outside, you can see joy and anticipation on his face. Was surrendered due to owner moving. Lady, cattledog mix, 5 yo, 60 lb, spayed femaleLady is thin long-legged cattledog mix with the cutest face and floppy ears. She is curious and fascinated by all kinds of things. Lady spent months and months in limbo in boarding and was happy to join our gang and have a choice of playmates.  She is young and active, and needs a fenced yard.  Lady finds it most comforting to lie down close to you especially if she can somehow lean into you. Bambi is a sweet, sensitive girl looking for the right people to call her own! This petite gal might take a little bit to warm up, but once she does, her smile and play bows will be so worth it! And once you`re her human, she`ll be your sweet shadow, following you everywhere and then will be over the moon with excitement when you return home. Bambi lived with another dog in her previous home and has enjoyed play groups with dogs here at the shelter. She would love to go to a home with a kind, gentle canine buddy who can show her the ropes. Given how much Bambi loves other dogs and gains confidence from their presence, we`re requiring that she go to a home with another dog.
