Story
Zeus is deeply affectionate and loves to cuddle. He has been with cats at his foster home and is equally tolerant of his doggy housemates large and small even when they are less than welcoming! Zeus will never pick a fight preferring to avoid conflict. When Zeus came to us he was about 5 years old 10 to 15 lbs overweight from lack of exercise and nervous about nearly everything. Today, thanks to loving foster homes, Zeus is slim and agile. He comes willingly to kind handlers and is always naturally in look-at-me mode. He adores walks but is not well leash trained. Off leash he wants to stay close to his handler and to home. He is cautiously friendly but gentle with house guests. Zeus is moderately active and would thrive in a more rural environment. His personality suggests he would be compatible with livestock.    Zeus is not fond of car rides.  Due to some separation anxiety and possible past trauma, a patient and experienced adopter would be best for this loving dog. If you want to meet Zeus or know more about him please call to talk to his foster mom or arrange a meeting.   Thank you for considering adopting a Rescue Ranch dog. While they are with us, each and every rescue dog receives the best of care in a loving and nurturing  environment. Story
***Due to a house fire, it is extremely important to rehome Xochitl. It's become impossible to help her while trying to rebuild my life. Please be in touch if you have a loving home for her. *** More about her: Xochitl is such a loving dog. Her name means flower. She has endless energy and needs to be in a home that can allow her to get out all this energy. It's important for her to be able to play and run around or be walked to get her energy out. She is very playful but she needs some training as she has some issues with jumping up. May not be good for smaller children before training is done. She will be a perfect farm dog and is very protective. She is around 1.5 years old and I adopted her from a litter that was being given away at a local city park.

Story
Looking for a canine partner that is already professionally trained? Look no further than Vinny! Vinny came to Sanctuary One from a high kill shelter back in June. The shelter staff sent numerous videos of him interacting with dogs, children etc. and he did great! Once he arrived he was fine with our other shelter dogs and staff. Vinny was adopted but returned because he started resource guarding food, toys etc. This was not a behavior we had seen from him prior to being adopted. Our volunteer dog trainers from Companion Canine took Vinny home for a 2 week crash course where he learned to have manners and we found out that he is really smart and loves his training sessions! Here is the video the trainers made of him: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-FxCGpywk_f13IbfggqC2cMwZiCIAl-_/view Vinny is an amazing little guy but will need an adopter that is willing to keep up on his training. He is super smart and would excel in scent work or advanced obedience training. He has retained all of his training since he has been back with us. Vinny is very sweet, he loves to give hugs! If Vinny sounds like a match for you, please put in your Adoption Application today: https://sanctuaryone.org/rescue-animals/adopt-us/adoption-application/
