Story
To apply or learn more about Isco, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/11/2/isco Indigo is a 4 yr neutered cattle dog whippet mix (best guess) in need of a special home! Adopted as a puppy through HFP back in 2020, Indigo is looking for a quiet, calm adult home as your one and only! ✅ no separation anxiety ✅ housetrained, crate trained ✅ wonderful base of basic training ✅ smart & trainable ✅ cutest submissive grin/wiggle butt when you come home ✅ moderate activity (relaxed inside but loves to fetch and play!) ✅ doing much better at car travel He was adopted as a 4 month old puppy through HFP but sadly returned 3 years later -- he is currently in a Sacramento Foster home but is really in need of a home of his very own as his foster cannot keep him forever. More about Isco: he has a great base of training and ready to impress you with all his cues, including: Sit, Wait/Stay, Bed, Crate, Down and Off. He walks well on leash and doesn’t pull a ton. He LOVES to sniff everything during his walkies aka Sniffaris ( but doesn’t stop to mark, only sniff). He would do best in a quieter neighborhood as very busy places can make him nervous. Moderate energy -- he loves playing fetch in the backyard and a long daily walk would be ideal for Isco. In the home he is relaxed and independent. He has lived with 2 small dogs in the past and may be able to make dog acquaintances with slow intros but does not have a ton of experience with other dogs at this time. He would do best as prince of the palace as a solo dog in the home. Indigo previously lived with a cat who he loved to play with but can chase other cats, he may do well in a home with a well-matched cat friends; we ALWAYS recommend slow intros into the home/early separation for cats/dogs as they get to know one another. Indigo has the CUTEST prance and loves to play fetch. He is treat motivated which makes continued training and intros to people much more of a breeze. Housetrained, Crate Trained, around 55 lbs. Neutered, Vaccinated, Vetted, ready to be yours! Indigo adoption donation is sponsored. You might be wondering what “sponsored” means. A dog is sponsored when their foster or a donor loves them so much that they cover the adoption donation for a future adopter. This in hopes that the pup finds his or her forever family ASAP!

Story
This is a courtesy post. Please email Pilar at pilarmajors@gmail.com, Stella is fostered in Glencoe, CA. Here is the information that Pilar (her foster mom) has to say about Stella: Stella is about two years old, a mix of heeler and shorthaired pointer, located in Glencoe, CA and is looking for an active person or family she can call her own. We have been fostering her for a year after she was found by us and neighbors in the highway multiple times. She had fleas, about 25 ticks on her, was underweight, and had very bad habits of escaping and running for miles (she is a VERY athletic dog!), had zero training, and showed signs of being kicked by people. However, she was still naturally an incredibly sweet, cuddly dog who clearly wanted to have friends and be an active family dog! We have since gotten her fully de-bugged, to a healthy weight, spayed, and vaccinated, and her training is coming along well to ensure she can fit in to a new family. She is the perfect size…small enough to carry, and big enough to run alongside us for miles. We have leash trained her, and she has learned to sit and stay. She loves wrestling with bigger dogs, is great with our cats, has been very gentle with veterinarians and children, and likes to be active, she would make an excellent adventure companion for anyone who likes to take road trips, camp, hike, run, etc. She is terrified of horses, will chase turkeys and squirrels, and gets very jealous of the attention we give to our other (equally jealous) big dogs, so she is just not able to have as much fun in our rural household as she’d like to. She has the CUTEST bouncy, joyful run, and will “hold hands” with anyone, giving them the best “take me home” seal pup eyes, so she is sure to win your heart! I have enjoyed her company in my therapy practice, she would be a great choice for an ESA dog or even a therapy or service dog for someone with experience in training her through her remaining goals. We are very reluctant to let her go to a new home, but she does need more action and her own active person with time and attention to spare, and with our horsey life and full household, she just isn’t getting enough of either. She cannot be trusted to stay in a fence, she will dig and climb even 6' fences, but does well when crated overnight indoors, and is cable run trained so she can stay in a yard if this is available to her. She is learning to be recalled off leash but needs a very responsible person to work on her training in this area. She does not like highly rambunctious, in-her-face smaller dogs, and can bump into small children when excited though she does not mean any harm. We would be happy to tell you more about her! Stella's adoption fee is $250, please contact Pilar at pilarmajors@gmail.com PRE-SCREENING, VET REFERENCES & FENCED YARD REQUIRED. SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY! YOU WILL GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUR NEW FURRY FAMILY MEMBER BY GIVING THEM LOVE AND TRAINING!

THIS IS A COURTESY POST. Please contact Sheryl with OAKDALE TINY PAWS RESCUE, text+1 (209) 606-3640 or email at tinypawsoakdale@gmail.com, Pippi is being fostered in Modesto. Pippi is a beautiful and loving 6-month-old female cattle dog mix. She loves to run and play, she loves chew on her favorite toys, to cozy up, and she especially loves sniffing her way around the backyard. Pippi is always in a happy go lucky mood! Pippi needs a job, she needs to be worked, and she would truly thrive in a busy environment. She wakes up in the morning and she is ready to go! Pippi has gone to puppy training and knows basic commands but can still use some working with so she doesn't forget them. She is curious with cats - sometimes chases but will stop when redirected. Story
We adopted Cowboy in March. There wasn’t much known about him other than that he was found on a farm near Stockton (the shelter we adopted him from was near Stockton). We live in Sacramento. He is very smart and trainable (motivated by food). He will not work for our family because I have two kids - 10 and 7 - and he gets very excited when they play. His excitement scares them too much, sadly. He does get mouthy but he has never bitten any one. My kids, though, just don’t feel comfortable with the mouthiness. I’ve taken him to dog parks several times and he has been fine with other dogs aside from the occasional growl at bigger dogs (he seems to be feel more threatened by them). In short, I think the optimal home for him would be someone with older kids and no other dogs. Cowboy is very loyal and likely attach very quickly to his care taker. Bonus if you have the time and energy to really train him as I think he would respond well to it.

These pups are in Woodland, California too!

Story
************COURTESY POST***** NOT AT THE SHELTER SEE NUMBER TO CALL BELOW***** Hello, I'm Maximus, but my friends call me Max. I celebrated my third birthday in September 2023. Max is a well-behaved pup who responds to both verbal and non-verbal commands. He's crate-trained, full of energy, and thrives when given tasks to do. We believe he's an Australian Kelpie mix with some other breed. Max walks excellently on a harness and leash. Outdoors, Max can be protective if someone approaches too closely to him or his loved ones. He grew up in a household with another older dog, birds, and children. Due to changes in our circumstances, we need to find a new home for Max. He deserves to have more freedom than an apartment can provide, especially while we're away at work. Additionally, with a baby on the way in March, we worry that Max may not adjust well to the change, as he's used to interacting with slightly older children. If you have any questions or if I've missed any important details, please feel free to reach out to me at 530-554-5091. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Story
**** COURTESY POST - DOG IS NOT AT THE SHELTER **** Milo is a 1-year-old Australian-German Shepherd mix who’s full of energy and potential. This handsome, large pup is up to date on all his vaccines, potty trained, and crate trained. As much as his current family loves him, they feel he deserves more than they can offer due to health challenges, a lack of yard space, and a busy schedule. Milo is a friendly inside dog who has lived with dogs, cats, and kids. He’s great with his furry and human companions, though he enjoys chasing cats (but doesn’t harm them). He’s known to “demand bark” for attention and needs someone who can provide him with the exercise, socialization, and playtime he craves—ideally with a yard to run in. He’s protective and would thrive with an active owner who has time for him. If you have the space and energy to keep up with Milo’s playful spirit, please contact his family. Winnie is a loving, sweet and calm dog. She was my mom’s dog and sadly my mom passed away recently due to ovarian cancer. The place I live doesn’t allow dogs and I want to find Winnie the best home ever. She loves tummy rubs and going on walks. She will be right by your side and loves to treats and cuddle.
