Story
My name is Leo Richards and I have a 2-year-old cattle dog I unfortunately must surrender. I'm currently a working student and don't have time to care for him properly and train him. I don't know what his life was like previously but he is cautions of many things. I have been able to help him build confidence and he has come a long way, but he still needs a lot of training. He is fearful of strangers, bikes, and loud noises. But I have gotten him to the point where he won't react when we walk by people and most dogs in public and he has become more comfortable with objects and things like cars. He does not like children at all. When he reacts to these things, it is just barking and trying to run away. He has never bitten anyone. He NEEDS an experienced owner or an owner can provide the training he needs. Please reach out if you're interested.

Story
Pete`s journey has been nothing but inspirational. Pete first arrived at our shelter October 1st, he was a shell of a dog shut down, and terrified. For days, he sat isolated avoiding human interaction not sure who to trust. But behind those frightened eyes we knew there was a heart waiting to be healed. Our staff and volunteers didn`t give up on Pete. We spent hours sitting with him, patiently letting him learn to trust. Slowly with kindess and patience, Pete began to soften. As time passed Pete went to a one week stay foster home where he blossomed even more. He was wonderful with the other dogs and even the cat in the home. In this quiet environment, he became much more relaxed and affectionate. At the shelter Pete enjoys his daily walks, his zoomies when he steps outside his kennel and the gentle affection he gets from staff and volunteers.Pete is now 3 years old and weighs 21 pounds. His transformation is is a reminder that with patience, kindness and a little bit of time, even the most frightened souls can find their way. Pete is ready for his next adventure of finding his forever family. Interested in meeting Pete?
