While not old in years this boy is an old soul. Zander just goes along with whatever life throws his way. Hes pretty chill and unbothered with most things but playing ball will bring out his youthful side. He lives for anything ball related and hopes to find an equally ball loving family once he’s completed the 3 month long program. If you’ve got other dogs he’s good with them too and would be an easy fit for a home looking for a second mellower dog.Zander sadly sat unclaimed and unadopted at the shelter for almost 2 months. He wasn’t bothered by his predicament but maybe that’s because he didn’t understand dogs who linger with no opportunities to get out are euthanasia listed. That’s exactly what happened. Although he never did anything wrong Zander was going to lose his life for space. Thankfully one of our amazing foster families said yes to 4 of the euthanasia listed dogs and Zander got his lucky break. This sweet boy settled right in to foster care. He’s crate trained, affectionate and did we mention how much he loves playing ball? He’ll be in our Pawsitive Change program for the next three month honing his training skills and then hes ready to find a family looking for a mellower pup and promises he’ll be the good boy we all know and love. Soju was found as a stray and was extremely affectionate when found, when no owner was found in the immediate area he was chipped and neutered and given updated shots. Paper records are available. Responds well to commands, and will come with toys and his bed. I am heartbroken to give him up and would like him to go to an experienced parent so he can have a happy and fulfilling life. Problem behaviors include anxious eating, refusal to eat while observed. Very intelligent and loving. Soju is 34lbs and has not yet taken to his name. If adopted, he will come with bed, bowls, harness and proof of up to date medical records.

Three puppies were running on the busy road just down the road from Paw Parent. It was dark out and leaving them there was out of the question.With the help of other people we were able to catch all three. But now what?My neighbor said that she would take them to the shelter, which would mean that three dogs already at the shelter would need to be killed to make room for them. They could also catch Parvo at the shelter and be euthanized and even if they didn't get sick, if not adopted they would be killed to make room for new arrivals.Seeing them falling asleep cuddling together, exhausted from the trauma of having been abandoned, I just couldn't let that happen!So, we squeezed them in. It is a challenge because we were so full already, but we are making it work.Turns out the puppies are a new cross breed, Cattle dog and Corgi, called Cowboy Corgis. We believe that a backyard breeder who couldn't sell them now that they were about four months old, drove out to the desert and dumped them! They are incredibly sweet and lively with lots of love to give. Dakota is outgoing, affectionate and loves people. She is about 4 months old, weighs 24 pounds, is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and ready to brighten up someone's life.
