Story
Baby is a 3-year-old Cattledog mix who is ready to be your new best friend! Baby is an affectionate lap dog who loves belly rubs and is incredibly treat motivated—perfect for training sessions and bonding time. He knows a variety of commands including sit, stay, shake, down, and is working hard on improving his `come` command. He is exceptionally smart and quick to learn, making him a blast to train. He would thrive in learning new tricks, commands, or even exploring scent work! While Baby has been stressed in the kennel environment, he truly shines when he`s outside, enjoying time with his humans and in his own space. He’s great on a leash and enjoys his walks. Though he can be reactive to other dogs at first, with a little time to meet and greet, he calms down and continues on his way.If you`re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a great mix of playfulness and affection, Baby is the one for you! He`s ready to find his forever home where he can continue to thrive and be the amazing dog he truly is.

Story
Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix, male young adultBig Red here! I’m still searching for my forever family. I’m a low to moderate energy dog that just wants to hang and binge watch Netflix. I’ll happily go for a stroll, and as you can see (video) I cruise like a Cadillac, but my preference is to be parked next to the couch. I just want loves and food, oh I love food! I even do a happy dance, spin, and twirl when I see the bowl coming. I am people friendly, all ages and sizes. Cat tested and approved. As far as canine companions go, I prefer the ladies. Pretty sure I’m the dream dog most people are looking for, just in a slightly older package. Mature, distinguished, EASY! Big Red is approximately 3-4 years old. He is UTD on vaccines and will be microchipped and neutered as soon as we can get an appointment. He is located in Bakersfield, CA. Story
Cattle dog mix, femaleMeet Lola   Lola was a stray cattle dog mix who was being fed by someone who leaved near where Lola was hanging out.  Then she gave birth to 10 little heeler babies and was hiding them in a pipe. Some Good Samaritans, with the help of Mama Lola, ushered the babies to safety. Then a surprise!  An additional puppy, and dad Barney were found!  Lola and Barney are a bonded pair and we are hoping to adopt them out together.  Lola is very sweet with people and other dogs.   Lola, Barney, and the puppies are in Visalia   More photos, video, and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1299398481021803&type=3   Interested in Lola and Barney? please fill out an application at: https://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppDecember 3, 2024, 6:36 pm

Story
Cattle dog mix puppy, femaleMeet Marina, the most mild-mannered stoic puppy to ever grace the land. If you’re looking for a wise beyond her years (well actually months) dog, this is your girl. Marina is a 14 week old Cattle Dog / Great Pyrenees mix. We have the DNA. This is a stellar breed combination if we do say so ourselves. She’ll cap out at 50-60lbs full grown if we take an educated guess (currently she weighs 19lbs). Marina recently joined the party pack in Arroyo Grande. It was like taking an introverted bookworm and throwing her into a frat party. She needed a minute…more like 24 hours. The resident dogs and Sandy were trying every trick in the book to try to get her to play. Groveling at her feet with toys, sharing treats, dragging her blankets, it was cute to watch but Marina wasn’t amused. Fast forward 24-hours and it’s clear she is super loyal, affectionate, and there’s even a playful side in there. She’s following the big dogs around now, wagging her tail and engaging in puppy stance and wrestling matches. She is just so gentle (even when she plays) and for that we know she’d make a great family dog. She is very sweet with the resident 7-year-old human who makes a lot of noise and random movements. Marina is unfazed and approaches her often with a wagging tail looking for pets and affection. Marina walks well on leash and sticks close to her human at all times, not in a nervous or clingy way, but in a very cattle dog way. Don’t miss the last of her puppyhood! She should be in a forever home by now. Most of her siblings have moved on. Marina is microchipped, UTD on vaccines, and can go home on a spay contract. She is located in Arroyo Grande, CA. More photos, video, and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/www.cchdrescue.org/photos_albums   Interested in Marina or one of her siblings?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_App    December 24, 2024, 1:13 pm
