Meet Dodge! Dodge is a stunning 1-year-old Cattle Dog mix who came to us as a stray from the Central Valley. Weighing around 50 pounds, he has a gorgeous merle coat with striking spots that make him truly unforgettable. Dodge is the perfect blend of playful and affectionate. He’s done well with both dogs and cats, and he’s friendly with children, making him a great fit for an active family. As a young, energetic pup, Dodge thrives with plenty of exercise, enrichment, and continued socialization. He would absolutely love a family who enjoys outdoor adventures like hiking, long daily walks, and playtime in the yard. He’s already making great progress with house and crate training and is eager to continue learning with basic obedience. Dodge’s smart, loyal nature paired with his zest for life will make him a fantastic family dog or devoted companion. Almond came to us from the Central Valley as a stray, but despite her rough start, she’s thriving in her foster home. While Almond doesn’t seem to have any formal training yet, she’s eager to learn! She’s incredibly smart, food-motivated, and wants nothing more than to please her people. At the perfect medium size, Almond rides well in the car and will happily be your adventure buddy or cuddle companion. Story
Meet Polly Pocket, the most adorable little Cattle Heeler-Terrier mix around! This long, low, and wiggly pup is just four months old and weighs about 11 pounds. With her stunning merle coat and endless enthusiasm, she’s impossible to resist! Polly came to us as a stray from a local shelter, but her luck has turned around—she’s now thriving in her foster home! She’ll likely grow to be a perfect medium size, around 40–50 pounds when fully grown. This playful girl is full of energy and would love an active home eager to continue her training and socialization. She’s super food-motivated, making her a quick learner! Polly would thrive with a canine sibling to play with and would do best in a home with children past the toddler stage, given her breed’s energy levels. She’s just starting to learn house and crate training and will be spayed before going to her forever home. If you’re looking for a fun, loving, and adventure-ready companion, Polly Pocket is your girl! Who’s ready to give this sweet pup the loving home she deserves? Ready to bring home your new furry companion? Submit an application using the link below, and our team will carefully review it to determine if you’re the right match for the dog you’re interested in. If your application is a good fit, the foster parent will reach out to schedule a meet-and-greet or request additional information. The first step of the process is submitting the application, no meet and greet can happen without this being completed. Our dogs are all in foster homes all over the Bay Area from Sacramento to San Jose. Most meets happen at the fosters home. Please make sure the entire family is on board and ready to adopt. Most dogs can go home the same day as the meet and greet. All resident dogs and family must be present. If this pup isn’t the perfect match, don’t worry. We’ll provide feedback and suggest alternative matches if possible. Your application remains active for 90 days, so you can still be considered for other dogs in our care. If another pup catches your eye within that period, just email us to have your application applied to a different dog. Apply Now For application updates, forwarding requests, or any questions, contact us at adopt@underdogca.com. This is also the best way to submit additional documents or information. Our Commitment to Our Dogs Every dog in our care receives comprehensive veterinary care, including: Spay/Neuter surgery Microchipping DHPP vaccination Flea treatment and deworming Rabies vaccination Any additional vet care as needed The adoption fee for this dog is $450, serving as a non-refundable donation to help cover vetting, transport, and care costs. Story
Meet Gertrude – The Cutest Little Merle Mutt! Say hello to Gertrude, or Gertie for short! This three-year-old, 18-pound Merle Cattle Dog-Dachshund mix is the perfect long, low, and compact pup with a heart as big as her adorable ears. Gertie’s story is one of resilience—she was found abandoned in an orchard in the Central Valley with her puppies, who, against the odds, all survived. Now safe in Bay Area foster care, she’s blossoming more each day, learning to trust and embrace the love she’s always deserved. Why Gertie is So Special: • Sweet and eager to trust – she wants to be brave and loved • Super dog-friendly – great with dogs big and small • Medium-sized perfection – at 18 lbs, she’s portable yet sturdy • Crate and house training coming along well • Affectionate and people-oriented – she truly just wants to be with her person Her Ideal Home: Gertie will thrive in a home with: • A yard to explore and zoom around in • An active lifestyle – she’d love hikes, walks, and outdoor adventures • A loving, patient person who can spend lots of time with her • A second dog to help her continue building confidence • A work-from-home owner or someone who can bring her along for the ride Gertie is eager to please, ready to love, and so deserving of a forever home. Could that be with you? Help us find Gertie the happy, adventure-filled future she’s been waiting for!

Story
Harley is a sweet, smart wonderfully house trained dog. She loves walks but also staying home. She is house trained and loves to look outside the window and watch storms. She is a great companion and I hate to do this , but my family needs help and has to find a new situation. The expenses for her are not that much but enough that we need the help to find a good family to love her.
