Story
Meet Aspen Sometimes, one moment is all it takes to save a life. Aspen, a beautiful adult Heeler mix (possibly with a touch of Rottie), was just hours away from being euthanized at the shelter. Overlooked and out of time, her story was about to end, until a volunteer saw her. There was something in Aspen’s eyes, a quiet, soulful look that said she wasn’t ready to give up. And because someone chose to see her, Aspen is here today. Now safe, Aspen is beginning to decompress and learn what it means to be given a second chance. She is very friendly, greeting people with warmth and an open heart. Underneath that friendly nature is a deeply loyal, sensitive dog who forms strong bonds with the people in her life. Once she connects with you, you’ll see her true heart, gentle, devoted, and incredibly attached. Aspen is smart and observant, always watching and learning. She has that classic working-dog intelligence paired with a steady, grounding presence. She wants to understand her person, to bond, to belong. There’s something really special about Aspen. She isn’t just another dog, she’s a survivor, a second-chance soul who is ready to give her whole heart to someone who will love her in return. She didn’t ask for her past, but she’s holding onto hope for her future. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, a friendly shadow, and a dog whose love runs deep, Aspen is waiting to meet you.

Story
Dominique’s story feels a little like fate. This beautiful girl was found as a stray, and from the moment we saw her, we couldn’t believe our eyes — she looks just like another dog we rescued, lovingly named Dom, who has since found her forever home. It’s as if Dominique is continuing a story that already had a happy ending… and now it’s her turn. With her striking features and expressive eyes, Dominique has a presence that’s impossible to ignore — but it’s her gentle, soulful nature that truly makes you fall in love. She’s observant and thoughtful, taking in the world around her, then softly leaning in for affection once she knows she’s safe. There’s a quiet sweetness about her that makes you want to give her the life she’s always deserved. Dominique is ready to leave her past behind and start fresh with a family who will cherish her. She’s looking for someone patient and kind, who will help her feel secure and show her just how good life can be — whether that’s peaceful walks, cozy evenings, or simply being by your side. If you believe in second chances — and maybe even a little bit of destiny — Dominique is waiting to meet you

Story
Indiana Jones AKA Jonsey Contact: Sharon 707-823-2342  Indiana Jones, aka 'Jonsey' is a sweet young (approx. 10mos) old neutered male cattle dog mix. Jonsey is very dog social & plays well with others. He's on the smaller side, maybe 30+ lbs. Jonsey was found with his sibling & the good Samaritan couldn’t keep both, so got Jonsey to a boarding kennel. Jonsey is a quiet guy, compared to some cattle dogs that can have a shrill & annoying bark. He is almost housebroken, which is hard, living in a kennel. Jonsey will be a great companion for someone patient, quiet, & willing to guide him along. Before coming to the kennel, Jonsey may have very well, never been inside. He is still tentative of loud noises, & unfamiliar places. He's coming leaps & bounds & loves all the folks who care for him. Jonsey will thrive in his own home.March 11, 2026, 10:00 pm

Please contact Lucinda (lucinda@northbaycanine.org) for more information about this pet.North bay Canine Rescue and Placement  To fill out our adoption application please go here: http://northbaycanine.org/adopting-from-north-bay/  PUPPY So smart and cuddly. Ready to learn. Loves people. Red Speckled Australian Stumpy Tailed/Cattle dog mix Contact Hollie 707-321-5022 or dollielamafarm [at] yahoo [dot] com  Puppy is a handsome, red Stumpy Tail Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) mix. He was picked up as a stray on July 30th. We thought he would be claimed quickly bc he was so sweet and good looking.  That is why we didn’t name him. We have called a variety of names: (full) Monty, Dingo Boy, Mr. Camo-Pants… mostly just “Puppy”.  The vet estimates him to be about 11 months old (11/20/2024) presently.  Puppy is aggressively friendly. He wants to say hi to every person and animal we come across on our walks or who comes to the house. He’s quite cheerful, smart, and eager to learn. What little training I have done with him is with the assistance of treat rewards.  He loves to be outside - running around, grazing on grass, or just sitting in the sunshine. Mornings are his active time requiring a good deal of attention, and he seems to settle down for naps more easily in the afternoon. In the evening he likes to sit with family on the couch to watch TV and get belly rubs. That said, he doesn’t quite grasp the concept of personal space. He believes himself to be a cat-sized lap dog.  Speaking of cats, we have an older female who confines herself to the master bedroom. Puppy will want to go in and say hi. She responds with hissing, meowing, and swiping if he gets too close. It did not look as if he wanted to attack her at all. He’s just curious.  He can be left home alone for a few hours during the day. This only happens about once every couple weeks. As far as toys go, he’s destroyed and tried to eat all things furry within hours. We limit him to Nyla bones and a couple of hard to destroy balls.  We put him in a kennel to sleep at night. He resists going in but doesn’t complain for the rest of the time once he’s in. He does great on a people bed, too, but wants to be let out too early in the morning for my grown kids’ taste when they’re here. He will tolerate a shower but doesn’t care to be towel dried.  Puppy is housebroken, neutered, and vaccinated (not chipped). He deserves a good home with someone to give him attention, training, enrichment, companionship, and room to run.   March 11, 2026, 10:00 pm

Meet Wally – The Happiest Aussie Around! 🐶☀️ Wally is a jolly, joyful Australian Shepherd with a heart as big as his smile! His journey hasn’t been the smoothest—rescued from a shelter somewhere in LA, he was quickly pulled by a less-than-reputable rescue and left in boarding without a second thought. But despite the bumps in the road, Wally never let it dim his light. This boy is pure sunshine. Wally is friendly with everyone he meets—dogs, people, you name it. He’s super affectionate, loves to be near his humans, and has that lovable Aussie charm that wins hearts fast. He doesn’t bark much, he just wants to spread joy and soak up love wherever he can. Wally is also dog-friendly, making him a great fit for homes with other pups. His energy is upbeat without being over the top, and his sweet, easygoing personality makes him a dream companion. Wally’s ready for a fresh start—one where he’s truly part of a family, not just passed through. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving buddy who’ll brighten every day with a wag and a cuddle, Wally is waiting with open paws. Come meet Wally—the happy heart you didn’t know you needed. 🐾❤️

Story
Javier is a stunning cream Australian Shepherd with soft, soulful eyes that seem to ask the same question every day: “When is it my turn?” He was the last member of his family left behind at the shelter — watching one by one as his siblings found homes and he stayed behind. Despite the confusion and heartbreak he must have felt, Javier has remained incredibly gentle, hopeful, and loving toward everyone he meets. This sweet boy has the classic intelligence and loyalty Aussies are known for. He’s attentive, eager to connect, and happiest when he’s near his people. Javier would thrive in a home that can give him guidance, patience, and the love he’s been waiting so patiently for. Whether it’s learning new tricks, going on adventures, or simply curling up at your feet at the end of the day, Javier is ready to be someone’s devoted companion. He is still young at heart and will benefit from continued structure, enrichment, and exercise — but most of all, he just needs someone who will choose him. 💛 Javier has already waited longer than he should have. Now he’s ready to leave the shelter behind and start the life he deserves — one filled with security, affection, and belonging. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend with a gentle spirit and a beautiful soul, Javier is waiting to meet you. 🐾

Story
Cowboy is ready to ride off into the sunset and into a loving home of his own. Found as a stray in Perris, this handsome little herding mix, believed to be a Corgi and Australian Shepherd, has proven to be as resilient as he is charming. At around 2 to 3 years old, Cowboy is the perfect age, past the puppy chaos but still full of life, curiosity, and adventure. Cowboy is a gentle soul who takes a little time to warm up, and that is part of what makes him so special. He is naturally on the timid side when he first meets new people, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his sweet and trusting nature really shines through. He is the kind of dog who settles in quietly, takes in the world around him, and just wants to be part of your day, whether that is a walk around the neighborhood, a car ride, or relaxing at home by your side. Cowboy is neutered and ready to go, and he is looking for a home where he can finally put down roots. We do not know much about his past, but it is clear he has a bright future ahead of him. He would thrive with someone who appreciates his gentle nature and is willing to give him the patience and grace he needs to feel truly safe, loved, and secure If you are looking for a loyal companion with a calm spirit and a heart of gold, Cowboy just might be your perfect match.
