Meet Zion, a 1.5 year old Australian Cattle Dog surrendered to Woof Gang Rehab by his previous owners. True to the cattle dog breed standard, Zion is loyal, smart, alert, and wary of strangers. With Zion’s training, the issues he was having leading to his surrender are very well managed. Zion is working on proofing his advanced obedience training, walks very well on leash, and is reliable off leash. Zion is looking for an active home that will continue to implement structure and keep up with his training to keep setting him up for success. He would be an excellent sport dog for anyone interested in getting him into a competition sport and/or other active lifestyle like hiking, running, or camping. Zion is a happy boy and hasn’t met a person whose face he couldn’t put a smile on. He is extremely eager to please, his engagement with his handler is amazing, and he’s always ready to go, go, go! Zion gets along very well with foster sister Kimber (a lab). Kimber has shown Zion that strangers aren’t always danger and has helped his confidence with new people. Lycaon was found in traffic near genesis and the 805. He is a very loving lil man who insist on sticking his long snoot between your shoulder and neck and nuzzling. Lycaon would thrive in a family that gives him excessive opportunities to run. Lycaon shows signs of a past with trauma and cowards/flinches with sudden moment and raised hands. He is extremely trusting and affection with his current care taker but has shown aggression towards various other humans and dogs he’s met in day-to-day life. There is not an apparent similarity in the type of person or dog that triggers this fear/aggression response. He would need to go to a home who understands reactive dogs limitations and would work through this challenges safely. Lycaon knows basic commands and recalls perfectly. He is also a ball-obsessed dog to the point where ball time should be limited as to not perpetuate stereotypic behavior.

Max is the dog on the left in this photo, the black and tan. She is a beautiful young girl who was initially rescued as a small puppy with her family from a farm in the Central Valley where they were abandoned. She has been living with a foster and now she needs to find her forever family. She is very sweet, very playful, has lots of energy, and loves her people. She is dog friendly, not sure about cats. She'd be a great dog for an active person or family. She will need a decent sized yard to run around in, and some practice going on walks, since her current caregiver hasn't taken her on walks. She is good about going in her crate when she is told. She will need to be spayed, but is up to date on all vaccinations and is in perfect health.
