Meet Margie: A Loving Lady Looking for a Forever Home! 6yr old, 45lb Margie entered the shelter system in September of 2025 when she was surrendered by her owner. With volunteers at the shelter she was described as gentle, friendly, low energy, and soft. In play groups with other dogs she was tolerant and soft but often kept to herself and preferred to hang out with people. Our team at Dog Coalition LA became smitten with this sweet lady and with the help of a dedicated foster, we were able to place her in a foster home in November. In her foster home, Margie is settling nicely! She is already house trained and walking nicely on leash in tandem with her 2 canine foster siblings. With the other dogs she has been integrating well, playful and mama-ish, and generally able to match the energy of the others. The 3 of them like to adorably nap together in the sun (see photos). Margie is also doing very well working on crate training and meeting new people! As we’ve seen in her foster home, we believe Margie would do very well in a home with other dogs but would also be content as an only dog. She is looking for a forever home that will offer her a casual walk or two each day, some friendly faces, and mostly lots of chill time. This sweet lady is pretty low energy and we’d like to help her find a calm and loving home. Reishi is a 3-yr old, 40 lb Cattle Dog mix with red fox looks and the heart of a working dog. He is eager to please, highly intelligent, and happiest when he has a job to do. As with most heading breeds, his working nature thrives with structure, engagement, and leadership. Reishi loves to play ball, loves walks and hikes, agility-style tricks, and task-based training. When his physical/mental needs are met, he settles beautifully and is mellow in the home. He is independent yet deeply connected to his handler, bonds well with people once trust is built, and will do best with someone who respects and understands the needs of herding dogs. Reishi is crate, leash, e-collar trained, and solid in obedience. He routinely pack hikes with both small and large dogs. While he needs time to warm up to new dogs and people, he typically adjusts quickly. Rehoming necessary due to incompatibility with 2nd male dog in household.
