Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $600 Meet Collette – The Sweetheart Who Just Wants to Belong Collette has been waiting her whole life for a place to feel safe. This 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog-Border Collie mix was surrendered to the rescue, and while we don’t know much about her past, we do know that her future is filled with love—because she has so much to give. At first, Collette was timid and unsure, her big brown eyes searching for reassurance. But with just a little patience, she blossomed into the most affectionate, eager-to-please, velcro dog you could ever hope to meet. She follows her foster mom from room to room, always wanting to be close—except during showers and teeth brushing, which she respectfully gives you space for. A Day in the Life of Collette She’s an early riser, ready to start the day around 8 AM with breakfast and a trip to the yard. Walks are still new to her—she’s learning that the outside world isn’t as scary as it once seemed. She takes comfort in routine, spending time in a cozy room while her foster mom is at work, and greeting the family in the evening. After dinner, it’s time for another stroll, followed by cuddles before bed. Sweet, Gentle, and Ready to Love Collette is the perfect mix of playful and laid-back. She still has puppy energy, but she’s not wild—just curious, eager, and always looking to her person for guidance. She loves belly rubs, snuggles, and just being with you. She’s incredibly well-behaved, listens when corrected, and—get this—she hasn’t barked once since arriving in her foster home! She’s learning about other dogs, cautiously taking steps toward play, though loud, barking dogs can still make her nervous. She has, however, previously lived with dogs of all sizes and has shown she can coexist peacefully. With people, she warms up quickly and has so much love to give. She’s a sensitive soul, preferring quiet affection over chaotic energy, making her a great match for a home that understands her gentle heart. Who’s the Perfect Family for Collette? Collette would thrive in a home with a yard, where she can have a safe space to do her business and explore. She’s not a big fan of loud, rowdy environments, so a calm household with patient, loving people would be ideal. She’s still figuring out the world, but she’s so eager to learn. With the right family, she will continue to grow into the confident, joyful dog she was always meant to be. Collette didn’t have the best start in life, but she is so ready to write a new chapter.
