Story
I adopted jake about 9 years ago, when I got him he was about a year old. He has been the most loyal dog in the 9 years I’ve had him. He’s quirky, has a great personality and is focused &; behaved when asked / in public. He is 75lbs, a little over weight as he has had issues with a torn acl that rarely gets reinjured. Jake spends 8 hours a day inside uncrated while I’m at work, he does not chew things only issue when left alone is getting snacks off the counter (unfortunately, he can reach!) He rides well in the car, he is very good on & off leash. If cats are around he will chase them. He is protective over his owner but not aggressive, he is very sweet and easy to meet and win over. Looking for a home to live out his senior years with room to roam & relax. This dog will love beyond belief while not asking for much at all. I’m 23, he’s moved with me 3 times now I wish I could make it work for the both of us. Only rehoming to get us both into stable homes. ❤️

Story
Cattle dog, male 1 year oldOllie is rust and white cattle dog, approximately 1 years old. He’s intelligent, energetic, loyal, alert and protective. He likes to run and play. He loves belly rubs, hugs and kisses. He’s great on or off leash - he listens and follows on walks. He is so easily trainable! He has already mastered sit, shake, and bed! He’s potty trained and housebroken (no destructive behavior).  Ollie was abandoned and saved by a caring member o the community who is fostering him until he can find his forever home    Ollie is located in Fresno. He is now microchipped, neutered and UTD on vaccines     More photos, video, and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1285382042423447&type=3   Interested in Ollie?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppNovember 7, 2024, 3:10 pm

Story
Cattle dog mix puppy, maleHi there, Casper (male) here. I’ve spent the last month in foster, learning how to be a (domestic) dog. You see I somehow managed to survive life in the wild as a stray tiny tot without starving or getting sick. Some good Samaritans brought me to CCHDR hoping they could teach me all about the delights of home life. I am learning that humans are there to lead, love and provide food, structure and safety. I have proven to be a Velcro dog, but not quite a lap dog. You see touch isn’t really my love language (yet), but I always want to be next to my person and included in everything like trips to the kitchen, bathroom, taking out the trash, movies on the couch, car rides, etc. I am housebroken (no accidents; no destruction) and walk great on leash. I also have some basic commands under my belt, like sit, stay, and come, which means I’m super smart according to my foster mom (see video). Oh, and I get the wiggles for my 7-year-old human foster sibling who calls me “mini buds.” WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR: I need a person or family with a heart of gold and the patience of a saint. Knowledge and experience working with feral dogs a plus. Having another balanced dog(s) in the home is a requirement as of now. ABOUT: - Cattle dog mix - Male - 4 months old - 15 lbs (likely won't exceed 20lbs full grown) - Microchipped, on a vaccine schedule and can go home on a neuter contract Showing a feral dog the way to good citizenship is a commitment of time and often resources but yields the highest reward. Ask anyone who has ever done it.   More photos, video and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1273358970292421&type=3   Interested in Casper?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppNovember 5, 2024, 1:04 pm

Story
Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix, male young adultBig Red was found by his foster dad, blocking traffic on a rainy night. Big Red was very sick and the shelter wouldn’t guarantee he wouldn’t be euthanized so the fosters didn’t leave him. After many trips and tests at the vet Big Red was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis.  Some medication, and he’s now in good shape!      The vet thinks Big Red is a 2-4 year-old shepherd/Queensland mix.  He will be neutered before being adopted.   Big Red has had a rough start- he is startled at being touched if he’s not looking at the person.  But, he has never shown aggression towards people even when you catch him off guard. It’s quite sad. Probably an owner dumped him because of his illness. Even with his rough past, he is so sweet and absolutely loves people. When he is happy, you can literally see the smile on his face. It’s so cute.   Big Red is good with the foster’s female foster dog, but doesn’t particularly like their male dog, possibly because he’s not yet neutered or because prednisone can cause moodiness, or a bit of both.   He is also good around cats! Cat neutral.  Really does not pay them any attention.   Big Red is being fostered in Bakersfield.   More photos, video,  and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1299111334383851&type=3   Interested in Big Red?  Please complete an application at: http://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppNovember 11, 2024, 7:28 pm

Story
Cattle dog mix puppies, male and femaleMeet Lola’s puppies!   Lola was a stray cattle dog mix who was being fed by someone who leaved near where Lola was hanging out.  Then she gave birth to 10 little heeler babies and was hiding them in a pipe. Some Good Samaritans, with the help of Mama Lola, ushered the babies to safety and are now being held by the finder until they are ready for homes in about 5 weeks (mid-December).  Pups will go home with one vaccination on board, and required sterilization deposit of $300, fully refundable upon proof of spay or neuter. Surgery to be performed within 14 days of designated date.   Lola and the puppies are in Visalia   Individual pictures of the puppies as well as video and updates:  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1299398481021803&type=3   To reserve Lola or one of the puppies, please fill out an application at: https://bit.ly/CCHDR_AppNovember 13, 2024, 4:57 pm
