All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $750   Cabana is a 2 year old Cattle Dog mix who is ready to chaise her best life with her forever humans! Cabana was rescued from the shelter after her ride to the beach cancelled and she found herself needing a new place to crash. This beautiful girl weighs 30 pounds and she has all the markings of a perfect Cattle dog. Cabana has been a rescue favorite since she bounded into our arms and we know she will be a great addition to any beach trips to come!      Cabana is a curious, playful, gentle, and loyal girl who is looking to shine bright in her forever home. Like any Cattle dog, she is super smart and will need daily mental and physical stimulation. She loves to cuddle and be with her humans, whether on the couch or out in nature. Cabana would be an amazing companion for an active home who likes to hike or run or go camping. She’s built for action and has a bucket list that’s itching to have some items checked off. If you’ve experienced the loyal nature of a Cattle dog before, you will know how special this breed is. Cabana is super playful and loves any toy she can get her paws on. Cabana is such a kind spirit who is ready to join a family who will adore her. She has been a foster favorite during her time with DPS and we know she will be a once-in-a-lifetime dog for the home lucky enough to adopt her.  Cabana wakes up ready to give kisses and snuggles to her foster mom. Once she starts her day, she goes outside for a short walk and then has her breakfast. She alternates between snoozing, following her foster mom around, and playing in the yard during the day. She’s great at keeping herself busy as needed. Once her foster mom returns from work, Cabana goes out on an evening walk followed by dinner at 6 PM. Once the day ends. Cabana curls up on the couch next to her foster mom for cuddles and kisses. She goes out for one last potty and then goes to bed around 10 PM.  Cabana lives with an older dog and is always trying to get him to play. She would love a playmate in her forever home, whether human or canine. Cabana is working on her leash walking skills but she loves the outdoors. If you’ve been looking for a reason to get out and explore the outdoors, come rent a Cabana today!     Cabana is only an option for homes who have owned a dog of their own and are ready for the smartness and activity level of a Cattle dog. Kids should be over the age of 7.January 25, 2025, 1:04 pm

At 3-4 years old, this 48-pound bundle of love is looking for a home where he can share his easy-going nature and make everyone he meets his best friend. Rescued from the shelter where he was listed as a stray, Nabisco is ready to leave his past behind and live the good life—he’s house-trained, crate-trained, and doesn’t chew anything but your heart.   Nabisco is the ultimate companion for anyone who wants a loyal, calm buddy. He gets along with dogs of all sizes, doesn’t bark unnecessarily (unless you count the occasional hello to a new friend), and rides like a pro in the car. He’s lower energy, so he’s just as happy lounging around as he is going for a stroll. Whether you're chilling at home or out on an adventure, Nabisco is always up for some quiet bonding time or making new pals along the way. If you're looking for a friendly, easygoing dog who is everyone's friend (but especially yours), Nabisco is your guy!   Nabisco adjusts his routine to his environment. He came into his first foster home and there, his foster mom got up early. Great, he was up with the roosters and walking alongside her out on the farm. He was in bed by 9pm. Now, he's lounging a bit longer in the morning and enjoying a quieter morning without the long stroll around property feeding animals. He eats twice a day in his crate. He just goes with the flow.   Nabisco is an option for a home that has hasn't had a dog before or has lots of experience. He is an option for a home with kids over the age of 5.January 26, 2025, 5:20 am

Encyclopedia Brown (let’s call him Brown for short) was surrendered to our rescue by one of our local rescue partners. They asked us to find him a forever home and we knew we had to do right by this handsome boy. Brown weighs 56 pounds and is on a bit of a weight loss journey but he can’t wait to meet you! Come and page through this fabulous boy today!     Encyclopedia Brown is the very best dog in the entire world according to… anyone who has ever met him! He is super cuddly and thinks he is a total lap dog. He is a huge emotional support pup who has the biggest heart in the world. He is a bit overweight now but he loves getting out and exploring the outdoors, so we have no doubt he will be a slimmed down hunk in no time! Unlike some Cattle Dogs, Brown is very calm and relaxed. However he also has a silly side and loves carrying around his toys! He would love a couch of his own to make a throne where he can survey his land. Brown would thrive in any home ready to adore him. He is so smart and the best dog in the world. We can’t wait for his forever humans to jump over the moon for this amazing boy.  Encyclopedia Brown wakes up around 7 AM and goes out before breakfast. He goes on an 8 AM morning walk which he loves. During the day, Brown hangs out on his dog bed while his foster mom gets some work done. He gets a snack around lunch and then works on some tricks. He has dinner at 6 PM and then goes on one last romp. In the evening he hangs out with his foster humans until he is ready for bed around 10 PM.  Encyclopedia Brown lives with dogs and cats and gets along fabulously with them all. He loves his foster humans from kids to adults and is always down to make more friends! Brown walks fabulously on a leash and is house trained. He is very smart and would love additional training. Come and meet this amazing boy today!      Encyclopedia Brown is an option for any home regardless of prior experience. Kids should be over the age of 5.January 27, 2025, 7:53 pm

Prancer was left at a distant shelter as an under-aged puppy at 6 weeks old. She was nervous so the shelter put her with Dancer Shep mix also 6 weeks old. We rescued both of them and now they are doing great at their hero puppy foster home. They will get a great start since their foster home is also a trainer. Both are playful and adorable. They will be available when they are 8 weeks old. Appears to have strong prey drive. Video from first hour at their foster home. https://www.facebook.com/FFRescue/videos/1100628651741940 Update from Foster Home 1/3/25: Prancer has a very sweet personality and she is quite cuddly. She plays with chew toys and plays pretty well with Dancer. She is herding breed type so probably no cats.YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUtDgAJMUHkJanuary 23, 2025, 12:32 pm
