Story
How this pet arrived:Pepper was brought in by her previous owner. Why Pepper is the one for you:Pepper is a friendly senior girl who loves walks and playtime. Her name may sound a little spicy, but we promise she's very sweet! Her prior owner stated that she is house-trained and crate-trained and "very loving." She is known as a "Houdini-dog," meaning she's an impressive escape artist, so it will be important for her to have a secure yard or be well supervised when off-leash. Our trainers recommend that she go to a home without any feline friends or young kids (under 10), but she may do well with another friendly adult dog. If you're ready to give Pepper the loving home she deserves, grab a leash and collar and head to our Escondido Campus today! At SDHS:Pepper has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home!Pepper has been chosen as an Employee Pick! To see what makes her extra special click here. Primary Color: Brown Brindle Weight: 51.4 Age: 7yrs 2mths 0wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Badwell was brought in by his previous owner on 9/24/2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Badwell, a handsome and spirited guy looking for his forever home! While he can be a little picky about his dog friends and could be come reactive to them, he may get a long with others. Badwell also might chase cats so we recommend he not live with any feline friends. He also has some resource guarding quirks, but he is loyal and affectionate companion with the right guidance and management. Badwell should thrive in a structured environment with a family experienced in dog behavior who can help him feel safe and secure. Badwell might be a little too energetic for very small children. With patience and love, he'll shine as the loyal, protective buddy you've been searching for! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for his new home! Primary Color: Blue Roan Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 38.2 Age: 8yrs 3mths 1wks

I weigh approximately 40.02 lbs. STAFF NOTES: Very sweet but very scared.. Needs time to adjust. Arrived heavily lactating (no puppies with her) After visiting her for a couple of days, she is now more outgoing with me and is such a sweet heart. She is still very shy with people walking by her kennel and tries to sleep the majority of the day to help cope with this environment. I have not heard her bark once while here and she won't easily give attention unless she trusts you. She is a sensitive girl, but she is so sweet Took her out to the conference room to play with some of the staff, and at first she was shy with her head low.. But within a few minutes, she quickly became comfortable with everyone and was taking turns getting pet by each of us. She knows how to sit, shake, lay down, and is very food motivated. She wasn't too interested in toys, but she enjoyed chasing me around would play bow often. She leashed well and when it was time to put her back, she went right into her kennel.
