Story
Goldie, a cattledog mix, about 3 yrs old, has quite a tale to tell. She arrived with a history of hardship, already pregnant and understandably frightened. When her puppies came into the world, she transformed into a fiercely protective mom, allowing only a select few near her precious little ones. Over time, Goldie has learned that we humans aren’t so bad after all. She warms up gradually, appreciating the right introductions. She enjoys playing with toys and loves belly rubs. Goldie seeks a calm household where she can simply hang out and cuddle on the couch. Leash skills are a work in progress, but she’s making strides. If you’re looking for a sweet and very devoted companion who appreciates quiet moments, Goldie might just be the perfect fit for you! Adoption fees include: Spay or Neuter, All vaccinations are up to date, and a microchip. If you have current pets we do allow a two week trial period for $50. This allows us to make sure that the animal will fit in with the resident animals.Come meet me!Countryside Rescue is open Tuesday - Friday 11am to 3pm by appointment only.Appointments can be made by calling 707-542-5582 or emailing countrysiderescuesr@gmail.com.  Please ensure that you receive a confirmation of your appointment before arriving to ensure we are properly staffed for your visit.Drop-In (Without an appointment) Satruday from 11am to 3pm.  We are closed Sunday and Monday.                                                                                                                                                Please complete our online applicationat  : https://forms.gle/PGmGoo2ZoBEtU4D18   ##1879579##

Ready to learn. Loves people. Red Speckled Australian Stumpy Tailed/Cattle dog mix Contact Hollie 707-321-5022 or dollielamafarm [at] yahoo [dot] com    Puppy is a handsome, red Stumpy Tail Australian Cattle Dog (Heeler) mix. He was picked up as a stray on July 30th. We thought he would be claimed quickly bc he was so sweet and good looking.  That is why we didn’t name him. We have called a variety of names: (full) Monty, Dingo Boy, Mr. Camo-Pants… mostly just “Puppy”.   The vet estimates him to be about 11 months old (11/20/2024) presently.   Puppy is aggressively friendly. He wants to say hi to every person and animal we come across on our walks or who comes to the house. He’s quite cheerful, smart, and eager to learn. What little training I have done with him is with the assistance of treat rewards.   He loves to be outside - running around, grazing on grass, or just sitting in the sunshine. Mornings are his active time requiring a good deal of attention, and he seems to settle down for naps more easily in the afternoon. In the evening he likes to sit with family on the couch to watch TV and get belly rubs. That said, he doesn’t quite grasp the concept of personal space. He believes himself to be a cat-sized lap dog.   Speaking of cats, we have an older female who confines herself to the master bedroom. Puppy will want to go in and say hi. She responds with hissing, meowing, and swiping if he gets too close. It did not look as if he wanted to attack her at all. He’s just curious.   He can be left home alone for a few hours during the day. This only happens about once every couple weeks. As far as toys go, he’s destroyed and tried to eat all things furry within hours. We limit him to Nyla bones and a couple of hard to destroy balls.   We put him in a kennel to sleep at night. He resists going in but doesn’t complain for the rest of the time once he’s in. He does great on a people bed, too, but wants to be let out too early in the morning for my grown kids’ taste when they’re here. He will tolerate a shower but doesn’t care to be towel dried.   Puppy is housebroken, neutered, and vaccinated (not chipped). He deserves a good home with someone to give him attention, training, enrichment, companionship, and room to run.    December 4, 2024, 10:07 pm

Story
Please contact Lucinda (lucinda@northbaycanine.org) for more information about this pet.North bay Canine Rescue and Placement  Call Hollie at: 707-321-5022 Lady is a 9 year old, red speckle ACD She came from an abusive breeder situation around 5 years ago.  In that time she has become more social and comfortable with people, she prefers women but will get along fine with men (currently living with me, my husband and 15 year old son).  She comes with everything- bed, bowls, toys, harness, leash, small bag of food. Lady is shy around new people but once she warms up she is super friendly, affectionate and excited to play. She has way more energy than my 4 year old dog! She loves to ride in the car, go for walks and chase tennis balls. She gets along fine with other dogs unless there is a toy involved. She is not OK at the dog park. I think maybe with training this could be helped, but I don't have the ability to take that on right now. She also gets along with cats, probably even better than dogs as she mostly ignores them  Before I took her, she had been suffering from hair loss and itchy skin, I switched her to my dog's food (Acana red meat) and her coat condition has improved greatly. She is otherwise a very typical cattle dog, always ready to go, wants to be with her person, has 'the stare' and will jam herself into any comfortable bed. She loves to roll in dirt but is not big on being outdoors by herself. She is totally completely house trained. She does not get on the furniture. She occasionally barks, but only when my dog starts it. She is a very easy keeper and super sweet dog. She would love to have a large fenced space to really run after toys. She has excellent recall but needs a refresher on sit/stay/etc. Walks pretty nicely on leash, previously was able to walk off-leash but I haven't attempted it.  October 31, 2024, 2:50 am
