Story
Our family adopted Luna from the Humane Society when she was about 12 weeks old. She is about to be 3 years old. Luna has a lot of energy and requires a very experienced owner. She does best with structure and routine. She is great with older kids but is a bit too rambunctious for younger children. We have an infant & plan to have more. She is too unpredictable to be around them safely due to her overly excitable nature. She gets very excited when she sees other dogs. She does not like leashed interactions as these tend to make her anxious. She has never bitten or even snapped at a dog but she has jumped back and growled when she is nervous. Once she knows a dog, she loves playing with them. Luna is a very sweet and loving girl. She would be perfect for a home with a big yard and an owner who can dedicate the time to her that she needs. She loves to snuggle on the couch and can definitely be a “Velcro” dog if you let her. She loves to go on runs, go camping, and play in the river.

Story
NEWBIE ALERT! Meet Kavi! This sweet girl is being pulled from a rural overcrowded shelter with her one surviving baby! Kavi is a cattle dog mix. She’s around 2 years old and 40 lbs. She’s a super sweet girl. She gets along with others and just wants to be loved. She’s been the best momma but that time is coming to an end and her baby is being weaned. She will be adoption ready once cleared for spay. She is utd and hw tested. We will update her info once settled in!  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you!
