Story
Athena can be a little shy/skittish, but is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She loves running around and playing outside and warms up quickly to other dogs/people. Athena is great with kids, smart, and loves getting her snuggles. I have had no behavioral issues with Athena and she would make a great family pet. We would love for Athena to go to a family that can give her the time and space that unfortunately we no longer can. Her brother, Atlas (other profile/same litter), is also up for adoption.

Story
Meet Sage! Sage is a 4-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, possible Labrador or Golden Retriever, with a calm presence, soft eyes, and a heart as big as her 70-pound frame (though she should ideally be closer to 80 pounds). While Sage has the classic loyalty and confidence of her breed, she is not a working dog. She is a true family companion who enjoys being indoors with her people. That said, like many Anatolian mixes, she does enjoy spending time outside and appreciates a home with space to stretch her legs and enjoy fresh air. Sage does great with children and is both crate trained and house trained. She gets along well with other dogs and carries a natural, calm leader energy. She currently lives peacefully with a female Great Pyrenees and has had no issues with chickens, but she is not cat friendly. Though Sage has energy appropriate for her age, she is also able to relax nicely in the home and settles well with her family. She brings a steady, grounding presence and would thrive with a family looking for a loyal shadow, a gentle cuddle buddy, and a dog who wants companionship more than a job. If you’re looking for a devoted, calm, and loving family dog wrapped in a big, beautiful package, Sage may be the perfect match. Ready to give Sage the home she deserves? Come meet her — she’s waiting to be your calm and constant friend If you are interested in adopting Sage, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. ** January 24, 2026, 7:16 am

Story
Meet Oliver, who comes to us as an owner surrender. The only reason Oliver is with us (and available for adoption or foster) is due to their work schedules; they were unable to provide the time, space, and freedom he truly deserves. In Oliver's best interest, they made the heartbreaking decision to give him an opportunity to find a family who’s lifestyle can give Oliver all he rightly deserves - a home where he can thrive. Oliver is a 14-month, 120 lb., Great Dane. The previous owners have provided a wonderful account of the numerous ways Oliver can enrich your life and home; an abundance of love, laughter and loyalty are just a few of his attributes. He is big-hearted, adores playing with his ball, riding in the car, and curling up for snuggles. Running and long walks are his absolute favorite. Oliver is housetrained, crate-trained, neutered, up to date on his vaccines, has no medical issues, and comes with everything he needs - his collars, leash, bed, food bowl, food, and toys. He is good with kids and other dogs and would thrive with a fenced-in-yard. If you are a large breed lover looking for a dog whose heart and personality outweigh his size and are interested in meeting Oliver, please reach out of us for an application.
