Story
Meet Shay, a 1.5-year-old spayed female Anatolian Shepherd mix weighing around 75 lbs. She is a blend of loyalty, bravery, shyness, and independence. This unique mix makes her a fascinating companion. Despite her shyness, Shay's bravery shines through in her ability to adapt to new environments. Her loyalty makes her a steadfast friend, and her independence means she's comfortable with some alone time. She's an adult, but still has plenty of youthful energy. Shay is not just a dog, she's a companion, a friend, and a confidante. She's ready to be your faithful companion, offering unconditional love and loyalty. Adopt Shay and add a dash of bravery and independence to your life. She didn't come from the best situation. A surrender at our local shelter and her time was up, so her foster mom decided she had great potential! She was so shy at first but has made leaps and bounds. From learning to jump in the back of a car, learning lease training, playing with other fur babies, and learning to trust people. If you adopt her, you are gaining a wonderful new friend that just needs patience and love! All our fosters are part of the family. Prefer a fenced area. Please be patient as I go through applications, as it can take up to a week. Thanks so much! For more information contact Donna at huffmandhsow@gmail.com or Please fill out the application at https://humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application/donnah (copy and paste the application link) thanks. Please fill out the form completely and submit. You will receive confirmation when your application is received by the foster parent, this could take several days.

Denver was rescued from a county shelter after being there over a month. Sadly I have been put in the tough situation to rehome. Denver is a sweet boy who adores other dogs. He will need a string leader dedicated to training. I am happy to chat more about him and our situation.

Story
Bear is very sweet and protective. He has a lot of energy! The only reason we are choosing to rehome him is because he is stuck in a kennel all day and that is unfair to him. He knows basic commands; sit, lay down, go home, come here, and he is house trained. I want him to go to a loving family with a fenced in yard so he can be free to run around and play. He is my dad’s dog and with all of his children moving out, he isn’t able to take care of him on his own.

Story
Zinnia Noelle Breed: Anatolian Shepherd Mix Gender: Female Estimated Birthday: 10/20/2021 Current Weight: 65 Pounds House & Crate Trained: Yes Adoption Fee: $265 --===================== Hi, I’m Zinnia Noelle! I was out on my own as a stray before I was rescued. The humans think I might be about 2 or 3 years old. Now I’m learning a lot at my foster home about good manners and look forward to settling in to my forever home! I’m learning well because I’m easy to redirect and am treat-motivated (yum!). I take some time to warm up to new situations and people. After I feel comfortable, I am lovey-dovey and enjoy being with my people and snuggling. If I want attention, I might paw at you - hey! If I haven’t seen you all day, I might be so excited that I jump (oh right, I’m learning I shouldn’t do that!). I like my foster’s teenager, but haven’t yet been seen around younger kids. I get along well with other dogs and cats. I’m actually pretty curious about cats and squirrels! Playing with other dogs is super fun (if I get rowdy, just redirect me)! I can tend to be on the alpha side and I’ve been seen herding other dogs. To be safe, it’s a good idea to introduce me slowly to larger dogs. I enjoy chewing on bones and toys, so much that I’ve stolen them from my foster sibling, and have even stolen the humans’ shoes and stuffed animals (still learning what’s OK to chew on). I love to be outside, running around and playing with other dogs (I’ve got medium energy). While I adjust to a new home, a 6-foot fence would be preferable, at least until I prove that I won’t run away. I’m totally house trained and also like my kennel. I walk pretty well on a leash, but it’s kind of new so I’m getting better. Let’s be buddies and practice together! Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Zinnia Noelle is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care. - Local adopters only. Due to our thorough adoption process including home visits, we limit our adoptions to local families in the greater Charlotte area. - If you have any additional questions, email us at dogs@c2cnd.org and we will respond as soon as possible!
