Story
Lover girl Adelaide Cupcake, a well-behaved and universally loved GOOD DOG, kid-friendly, great with dogs of all sizes, so social, funny and charming! Adelaide has never met a stranger, she’s food-motivated, eager to please and very obedient. She’s a hugger, and an exuberant kisser. She moonlights as a comedian, with her many funny faces, her goofy gait, and her massive, infectious smile! SUCH a good girl. Adelaide is a pittie mix, approximately 5 years old and 73 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. We can guarantee that Adelaide is 100% good girl and will bring so much love, joy and adventure into your life. Adelaide has such a goofy and spirited personality, she can catch treats in her mouth and understands exactly how to make us humans laugh. She’s such a good, sweet girl, all about spreading love and happiness. She absolutely loves water. When we fill up the baby pool, she wants to stick her head in the water hose and play. Her absolute favorite thing is riding in the car, though. She loves to load up and go for rides, Adelaide’s favorite outing is a coffee shop date, she loves her pup cups! She also loves park dates that include playing ball, catching treats in the air, and meeting other hikers on the trail! She’s the BEST car rider!! She sleeps all night in her crate like a good girl and she’s potty trained and well behaved in the house. Adelaide has great house manners, and loves to snuggle, sit in your lap, or get belly rubs. Adelaide is such an affectionate and loving girl. We put a hat and tee shirt on her and she seemed to like them. She kept the hat on for a long time! Adelaide can often be found wearing her pony-bead necklaces- custom made jewelry gifted to her by her teenage foster “cousin.” Adelaide can be a teeny tiny bit hesitant to open up to new people, but she’s very easily won over with a couple treats and sweet pets. Once Adelaide has deemed you one of “her people,” you have a friend for life. Adelaide recognizes people she’s met, even just briefly, immediately and is always excited for the reunion. Such a good, loyal girl. With kids, Adelaide is a big house hippo and can sometimes be “a lot” for kids that aren’t used to big beefy goofy pittie types. Adelaide is incredibly sweet with them though, giving gentle kisses and playing games to their hearts content. Adelaide is beloved by so many kids, both here at the rescue, and within her foster family. She is dog friendly and will play with her doggy friends for short periods of time but most of the time she is off doing her own thing or loving on any human around her. She would do best with other dogs that are moderately playful like her, but will respect when Adelaide when she doesn't want to play. Adelaide does so well with small dogs, and seems to prefer their company! She is currently living in a foster home with multiple small dogs. Adelaide knows a few basic commands, she’s very intelligent, treat motivated, and loyal, which will make training her further enjoyable for both of you. Adelaide knows to auto-sit for treats and knows how to catch treats in her mouth. Adelaide came into rescue without much leash training, and loved to pull on leash- our behavior team trained Adelaide to walk on a gentle leader, a special type of leash that uses doggy psychology to make walks more enjoyable for both of you. When you take Adelaide home, we’ll be sure to send a gentle leader with you, so she can put her best foot forward on your first walk together! Adelaide is suuuch a good girl and a rescue favorite. “She is the best snuggler… ever. She will completely lay on top of me when I’m on the couch. She has the cutest personality. She gets the zoomies and it’s hilarious! She only has one bad thing about her really…..she’s a counter surfer sometimes. But working on it! We love fostering Adelaide, she is the best girl!” Adelaide is such a sweet, loyal, good girl. Her perfect forever home will be loving, kind and kitty-free. (Adelaide does like to chase cats!) She would do well as one of your pack, or as a solo-dog, soaking up all of that love for herself. Adelaide is medium energy and would do great in a semi-active family with kids. She does great with kids, as long as the kids are used to big dogs! Adelaide has been waiting for her forever home for far too long, if Adelaide sounds like your kind of girl- please fill out an application today. With any specific questions about Adelaide, please reach out to her adoption coordinator, her email is linked below. We are willing to test Adelaide Cupcake with anything you need us to in order to ensure it’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Story
Rocky called shotgun and doesn't care where you're going-he's coming! Rocky's journey from a lonely wanderer under a freeway to a beloved, joyful companion is inspiring. This resilient pup, now weighs 68 lbs and has only known the safety and love of an adoring foster home since that day. We believe he is a Staffy mix and simply, being a house dog looks really good on him. Take a look at him in action then come back to read more about him! You saw his pictures, he is gorgeous! A beautiful blue grey with a sleek, athletic build that he shows off during play sessions with his doggie siblings and during games of tug-of-war with his foster Dad. He has been so fortunate to wait out his adoption days in a loving foster home but it has also given us such an amazing front row seat to Rocky as a pet an playmate. He thrives on human interaction and is terrific with children and other pets. He has great house manners and is fully house and crate trained. He has earned the privilege of being allowed to free-roam his foster home and has never shown any signs of being destructive, even with those oh-so-tempting kids toys laying around. In classic, best-adventure-buddy style, he is a lover of a car ride! If you get the door he doesn’t need to know much else. Watching him ride shotgun in the front seat of a truck is top 10 classic charm. Once you get where you are going, he walks great on a leash, occasionally he will get to the end of his leash and you will feel a pull just cause he is a healthy size but he redirects and takes direction beautifully! Currently living harmoniously in a home with two dogs and three cats, Rocky is both dog and cat-friendly and could integrate well into a home with either/both. If invited into a home with cats we always will suggest a slow and proper introduction. If he was ever bored he may try to get them to play with him but we haven’t seen that. Rocky's ideal home would have a fenced yard where he can freely run and play to his heart's content. And although he is great with other dogs, big and small, he would also be perfectly content as your one-and-only. The love of his people fill his love-tank up perfectly and he has the love and affection of a whole pack to share. If you're looking for a devoted, affectionate, and incredibly handsome dog, Rocky is ready and available! If you have any questions, please email : kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org And if you are ready to stake your claim on his heart, fill out an application here- Adoption Application- https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/65ca4c42e85f778c6707aa87 We facilitate adoptions across the US through our own internal transport to ensure the quality of care. Story
This is Freckles, aptly names so for his gorgeous black and white speckled freckled coat. In rescue breed and age are offered as educated guesses given we do not know a dogs history but we believe Freckles is about 3 years old and is possibly a Staffordshire terrier/ Australian Shepherd mix. He weighs in at 82 lbs so he is bringing big snuggle possibilities. Freckles is an easy-going and confident boy, he leads with a bit of aloofness but that's just his way of checking things out. Once he feels comfortable he will come and check-in for some affection, showing his tail-wagging friendly side. He responds positively to a connection and comforting presence without needing constant reinforcement or praise. I can see Freckles being great company for putzing around outside, whether it's some gardening or tending to any ol' thing, Freckles will be happy to keep you company without getting in the way. Walking with Freckles is a breeze! He corrects easily, stays close, and follows commands well. Plus, he's able to walk past unfamiliar dogs without any reactivity, showing his calm, unbothered, personality. We introduced Freckles to multiple dogs and he was easy-going and calm. With time and the right connection he may show a more playful side. He's looking for friends, just needs some time to warm up. He will need some decompression time once he arrives in his new home, just a short period of understanding while he gets settled, but the reward is a loving and affectionate companion Freckles was introduced to our house cat Tom, his interest and overly focused attention tell us he wouldn’t make a good house-mate to a cat. He would likely try to chase a cat and that chaos is nobody’s favorite. In our books, that is perfectly okay! Just like people, not everyone is a cat-lover. Freckles’ dream home? One with a yard to explore and soak up the smells with a sunny spot for mid-day naps. With space to allow him to go out he will be able to show you how content he is by himself when needed. He can entertain himself with just his own company and that is a skill in itself. To sum it up, Freckles is one incredibly cool looking boy, confident and easy-going, good on leash, enjoys company of other dogs, not really a cat-guy, and is looking for his fur-ever home! A hidden gem waiting for the right crew to see him shine. Your patience, understanding, and love, will help Freckles become a cherished member of your family! f you have any questions about Freckles or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life! Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Story
He bounces when he runs, loves a tennis ball, lives to explore, and is a handsome head-turner. Bruce is his name, he weighs 56 lbs, is estimated to be 1 year old, and is possibly a staffie/shepherd mix but with rescue we can never know age or breed with absolute confidence. We do know, and I’m sure you will agree, he is absolutely a handsome good-boy! He also has the cutest little underbite! It is like a charming little secret about him. See if you can spot it in his "get to know me" video. https://youtu.be/scg2UqNZUh0 At first, we all thought Bruce was a shyer dog but even though he starts with slow greetings, he warms up quick. That’s when you see his happy, bouncy side! We learned quickly that his favorite type of ball is a tennis ball, he can catch it in mid-air, and is happy to hand it back to you. He knows a few basic commands, including sit, but the most important thing you should know is he is treat motivated and fully focused when he knows you have some in hand for him. This is a dog that is super smart and motivated to learn so new commands and tricks so training should be a piece of cake! Bonus! He also has a super soft mouth when taking treats or returning a ball. Bruce is quiet and at 56 lbs he has the potential to be an apartment dog but more than anything, we would love to see Bruce in a home with a yard. He was content and peaceful to explore that yard, was calm and quiet at the fence when someone walked by, and sure does love a bouncy run-about so a fenced yard would be the jackpot for Bruce. He is going to be great company whether your doing weekend yard-work or hosting a barbecue, His energy level is set to relaxed and steady making him a good fit for a person or family that loves a good adventure but also adores movie nights and lazy Sundays. Bruce was introduced to a handful of dogs and did wonderful with all the introductions and the playtime that followed. He never got to full on playing with any of the dogs but we can see he has a playful side in there. It is common for dogs to show their full playfulness when they have settled in to home and created a bond with their canine housemate. If you have a moderately playful dog, Bruce would be a great companion. He has great dog-todos manners and respects different personalities well. Thanks to his mid-level energy range he isn’t going to come in with too much energy, and overwhelm another dog, he seems to understand the importance of taking things slow with new friendships. No cats for this boy … he is much too interested! Overall, Bruce is a handsome, easy-going boy who will be easy to love! If Bruce created sparks in your heart he is ready for adoption and will travel! If you have any questions about Bruce or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life! Please email kristin@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Story
This is Teddy and with a name like that, you know what you’re in store for. We’re talking serious big hug energy. We all know the feeling of a perfectly timed hug, it’s a level of free therapy we all want and need- a true teddy bear in every sense! With his soft, cozy, warm brown fur and an irresistible charm, he’s the kind of pup that makes everyone feel better just by being around. From his absolute lover boy vibe to the the fun-uncle approach he has with kids- he is a swoon for the ladies and a dream wingman for the gentlemen. Watch Teddy's adorable antics! Now, let’s get down to business. While we can't be 100% sure about his breed or age, we suspect Teddy is some type of American Staffordshire Terrier mix, estimated to be around 3.5 years old and 62 lbs- a true hunk-of-love. Put the numbers aside, let’s talk about what really matters—Teddy’s personality and where he shines-with kids. He’s been lucky enough to be fostered in a loving home, where he’s mastered the fine art of house manners and is both house and crate trained. Yes, you heard that right—no messy surprises here! But his true crown and glory is how amazingly calm, patient, gentle and tolerant of it all when it comes to the littles. Truly, queue the AWWWW of a room full of women who got to watch a five year old squeeze Teddys neck with whole body for Teddy to turn around and lick his face with all the love a bully can have for a boy. Teddy has never met a stranger, kids are just little people and he is a fan of all the sizes, big to small. If that boy was put on this earth for one thing it’s to spread the warmth of what we call the “Teddy experience,” which starts with slobbery kisses and ends in tail-wagging bliss. He is a family-approved cuddler with a side of patient saint. Plus, he’s a stellar car rider, he will try to call shotgun but no matter where he sits, he will always be your passenger prince. And if you thought he couldn’t get any cuter, just wait until you give him a toy! His playful spirit goes into overdrive. Whether it’s tug-of-war or simply romping around, Teddy’s ready for fun and more than happy to entertain his audience. He’s a strong boy, so consider those play sessions a workout for both of you—mostly fun, with a side of exercise. When it’s time for a walk, he’s all in, eager to sniff every blade of grass! He knows basic leash manners, but his enthusiasm for it all can let him get ahead of himself but a handful of treats and you reminding him of what a good walk looks like and he will pace his enthusiasm. As far as canine-companions go, Teddy fills the “shoes” of at least two dogs and would love to be the one who single-pawed, lights up your life. With feline friends, he had a bit too much interest in our resident cat, Tom—so, no feline friends for Teddy. Not a deal-breaker in our book. If an affectionate boy who is real easy on the bully-loving eyes is what you are looking for then you have found him! The soft fur, the warm kisses, his adoring approach to kids, grade-a snuggles, and a true-blue loyal companion, Teddy is your boy! He’s ready to be yours! Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
