Story
Available for adoption in TX, NE and PNW! Meet Ellie! This adorable cuddle companion is in search of her forever home! She delights in leisurely strolls and cherishes moments spent with her humans. Upon meeting new faces, she promptly snuggles into their laps, seeking affectionate pets and gentle scratches. While she might not excel as a guard dog, beware, for she'll effortlessly steal your heart with her endearing puppy dog eyes. Ellie isn't too keen on toys; she much prefers belly rubs and affectionate booty scratches. Outdoors, she explores with curiosity, sniffing around and trotting here and there. She's not overly active and finds contentment in a cozy couch, occasional pets, and brief walks. In essence, she's more of a "Netflix and chill" kind of gal. When it comes to other dogs, Ellie has her preferences, so a meet-and-greet with potential canine companions is recommended. She has experience with cats and gets along well with them. Additionally, she has been around children and relishes their company. Ellie is crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on preventatives. She's currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, awaiting her forever family. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Available in TX, PNW & NE (excluding NH and MA) This handsome man is Jake Gyllenpaws. Jake is a real model and is good at stealing hearts with his good looks. His foster mom says Jake has the "model look to him. He lays down and when you stop petting him, he looks back at you with "Blue Steel." Of course, this look often ends with more pets and kisses for the sweet boy. How could you not just love all over this boy? Jake loves to cuddle on the couch and be by your side soaking up all the love. After being stuck in the shelter, Jake has been working so hard on his doggie manners and wants to show you how far he's come. He can sit, lie down, and has been working on learning to stay. He is potty trained and loves to be outside in a yard with his family. He doesn't much care for the crate, but his foster family is committed to showing him it can be a pawsitive place. Jake is a gentle boy and sensitive. After his last vet visit, he looked quite sad, so his foster mom took him to get a pup-cup and it made him very happy again. Jake will require continued spoiling and love, as he deserves the best. Jake is living with 2 other dogs in his foster family and loves having play mates. They get along very well outside of treat time. Jake would prefer not to share. It's likely best to feed Jake separately from other resident dogs since he's still learning that sharing is caring. This Jake Gyllenpaws isn't a fan of cats. A home without felines is best for him. Jake is a velco boy and loves to be with his family. His human foster brother is turning out to be his best friend. Jake is learning to be gentle with him because he gets so excited when he sees him. Although Jake hasn't met any smaller children, we think he would do well with kids over 10. He does like the zoomies and with his zest for life, he may knock over the smaller ones trying to play. Sweet Jake is a real lap dog at heart and loves being by your side. If you're looking for an energetic and loving pup to join your family, Jake Gyllenpaws could be the perfect match for you! Story
Available in TX only! Granger, a 54-pound young adult rescue dog, embodies a unique blend of traits that make him an endearing companion. Initially cautious around strangers, he blossoms into a loyal and affectionate friend once he establishes trust. His wide-set, beautiful eyes are a distinctive feature, complemented by charmingly bow-legged stature reminiscent of a bulldog. Granger thrives in the company of other dogs, eagerly seeking opportunities to snuggle and play with his furry pals. His social nature extends to adoring kids, showcasing gentle and amiable behavior around them. A testament to his adaptability, Granger is both kennel and potty trained, demonstrating discipline and understanding of boundaries. While initially uneasy with car rides, he is gradually becoming more comfortable, displaying resilience and openness to new experiences. Granger came into rescue with frequent upper respiratory infections. Extensive medical testing was done and it was discovered that he has a fungus that infiltrated his lungs and cervical spine. His gradual acclimatization to car rides mirrors his overall willingness to embrace change and learn. Granger's journey from a hesitant newcomer to a beloved companion reflects his resilient spirit and willingness to form deep connections. In essence, Granger is an amiable, adaptable, and affectionate dog whose gradual warmth towards strangers underscores his loyalty and trustworthiness once he embraces friendship. Story
Meet Elvis! He originally came into our care a few years ago, and sadly due to someunexpected circumstances with his adopter, Elvis has made his way back into our care. This handsome blue suede bully earned his moniker after the King of Rock n' Rolls famous lip curl.  And lucky for Elvis (and his future family), our vet confirmed that he has a cleft lip (not a cleft palate), so he gets to rock all the cuteness of his wonky, tooth-exposed smile, without any of the breathing or eating complications that come with a cleft palate!  We will be updating more on his personality and what he's looking for in a home as we learn a bit more about where he's at these days. Stay tuned! Elvis would do best in a home with...Cats : Nope! Dogs : Well-balanced females only, please!  Kiddos : Older kiddos (10+)! He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. To be considered as Elvis' forever home, be sure to submit an adoption application on our website! Follow us on Instagram (@nwdogproject) for updates! Story
Jackson (Jax) is looking for his family! Please adopt me now <3 This guy is a fun loving 70 lbs American Bulldog mix with possibly some other bully and/or Weimaraner mixed in. He is about 4.5 years old.  He loves to go for walks, would be an excellent running/hiking buddy.  He is so crate trained that if you say kennel, he goes right to it.  He also will put himself to bed in his crate if he feels you are staying up too late.  He has that awesome puppy energy but the smarts to immediately calm down as soon as you say his name.  He knows sit, lay down, go out (from the kitchen lol) and walks beautifully on a leash. Best as an only dog because his past experience with other dogs is mixed. He does best with a strong leader. No cats, but he is okay with chickens. Out of an abundance of caution, no small kids even though he's shown no issues with kids and actually likes them. He's fixed, chipped, and current on his vaccinations. Adoption fee of $250 includes the aforementioned items. Currently in need of new foster (or adopter) in Oregon. He can be adopted in Oregon or Southwest Washington. You must complete an application before we are able to accommodate any request for a meet and greet. Please apply here: https://www.emailmeform.com/builder/form/0b9tH5evbdz.
