Story
Roxy was recently returned because she was too strong for her adopter and will need some training. Roxy is a very sweet and affectionate dog who is very loyal to her family. She can be shy when meeting for the first time and usually stays glued to shelter staff until she gets to know you a little better! Since Roxy can be nervous in new environments and takes a moment to adjust she may not be the right fit for someone who is new to owning a dog. Roxy has lived with other dogs and did great with them. She also has not been reactive towards other dogs in the shelter. We can always provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed! Roxy was previously a family dog - she was originally surrendered because her family was moving and not able to bring her with. Roxy is friendly with children; however, she loves treats and will grab quickly, so it is best she not be around small children until she learns to take treats slowly. Roxy is very loving and is said to be a hugger! We have seen first hand that this is true! Please don`t be discouraged if she isn`t ready for a hug when you first meet her. Roxy is said to be potty trained and would sit at the door when she needs to go potty. She is also crate trained but was usually free to roam the home when alone and she was never known to be destructive towards household items. She was given the option to sleep in her crate at night and tend to treat it like her own little bedroom! Roxy does walk well on a leash and knows the cues “sit”, “down”, “off”, “treat”, “come” and “no”. Roxy is a medium energy dog who will thrive best with regular exercise. She enjoys playing and her favorite toys are bones and anything rubber! Roxy does not enjoy the cold and will be more than happy to be pampered and spoiled. Roxy is an incredibly good girl who just needs to be shown some patience while she adapts to her new home. If you feel that Roxy may be a good fit for your home we would love for you to come by and meet her!

Story
Meet our J boys! These boys arrived to the shelter after their owner passed away. We do not know much about their lives prior to the shelter but one thing for sure, everything is so new to them! These boys will need patient owners who are able to continue training. Each boy is very friendly and is desperate for attention. Being loved, hugged and petted are just some of the things they adore. They are not reactive towards other dogs and may enjoy having a friend in their new home. They would do best with a tolerable friend that matches their energy. We can always provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed! When they arrived to the shelter they were underweight - we are happy to say that they have put on a few pounds! We haven`t seen this since their first couple days in shelter but they were possessive of food and toys. This is something to keep in mind once they are in their new homes and it may be best that they be fed separately from other animals. James likes to run! We can see him making a great adventure body for someone one day. James was housed with one of his brothers for some time without any issues. He may be the most active of the J boys and is happiest when romping through the snow!

John loves hugs and we imagine him being very cuddly and loyal to his family! John is the first of the J boys to take to walking on a leash. He tends to move a little slower then the rest and appreciates taking in each moment!

Jay much like his brother John is taking to walking on a leash a little bit better. He is curious and is always interested in what you`re doing! Jay likes to be by your side and always gets a little sad when he has to be left outside by himself.

He does tend to jump up a lot and can be difficult to redirect. We eventually came to the conclusion that he just loves hugs and realized that if he jumps up he`ll get a hug!

Him and one of his brothers were able to be housed together without any issues. He takes to redirection well, especially when treats are involved!
