Mom passed away recently and I need to find a good home for a bonded pair of brothers. Mom and her roommate did not really interact with them so they are skittish. Treats encourage the possibility of petting.

Story
Meet Duchess – A Sweetheart Seeking Her Forever Home Duchess is a stunning American Short Hair with a soft dark brown tabby coat and captivating amber eyes. We met her, as a kitten, at a local shelter. Her calm gentle demeanor instantly won our hearts. In the last two years, Duchess has endeared herself to our household. She’s a kind, affectionate companion who enjoys belly rubs, gentle headbutts, chin scratches, the occasional rat-tail wand toys, curling up in sunny spots, greeting you at the door, following us from room to room, and offering meows to remind us it’s treat time or more attention. Unfortunately, due to unexpected changes—including the health needs of elder family members, and adjustments to home construction environment—we are unable to provide Duchess with the quiet, stability and attention she deserves. It’s a heart-wrenching decision, but our priority is finding a wonderful, child free and patient new home; that honors her boundaries-ensuring she'll thrive.

Story
Carmen was my ex's cat. When my ex moved out, she took her bonded pair and left her with me. She was not a good cat owner, as she never kept the cats up to date on their shots or spayed them. She moved out about two years ago, after which I got Carmen spayed and got her shots. Due to increasing cost of living and not enough income, I am unable to keep her. Carmen is a really sweet and loveable cat. She loves attention and she likes to chat (she doesn't yowl). She is 7 or 8 years old; I don't know specifically as I only received ownership of her 2 years ago without much information. She really loves to sleep on her people and is very chill and will sit with you. She's not a fan of towers but likes to sit high on things like dressers. She is a really well-behaved cat that will come when you snap your fingers and doesn't get into things like the trash or even people food - she ignores it. She just really needs a household that can give her the love and care she needs.

Story
Harley is a sweet kitten and friendly kitten. She was rescued as a stray kitten along with her 4 littermates. She has come a long way- all the way from Hawai'i to DC to find her furrever home! To see more pictures and videos of Harley, please check out @katieskittenz on social media.  PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion. ##2248970##

Story
Are you ready for a cuddle companion? Mr. Tarzan is just the kitty for you. He was discovered hanging around a feral colony and was begging for attention. After searching for weeks for his owners with no results he is now in foster care. Mr. Tarzan loves attention and being petted. Lots of purrs going on with him. Mr. Tarzan is a senior kitty (approximately 12 years old). He would love to be your buddy. Mr. Tarzan is fully vaccinated, is negative for FIV and FeLV, is spayed, and microchipped. He has had his rabies shot and is an indoor only cat. It is a SCA policy that our cats cannot be declawed or allowed to go outside. If you would like to find out more about adopting this delightful cat, please call Cari at 571-408-9626 or email info@shadowcatadvocates.org.
