Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Ben, AKA Big Ben, Gentle Ben is an 8.5 year old, large and loving Pit Bull mix (roughly 80lbs) who is great with people and is looking for his forever home where he can be spoiled and loved. He is our longest resident and has been looking for his forever home with our rescue for almost 6 YEARS! Ben is a really sweet boy who bonds deeply to his people and is very loyal. He needs room to roam and play and is best suited for life in a quieter area. He will need a home in a suburban or rural neighborhood with a securely fenced yard. He is not an apartment or city dog. He would love nothing more than to take long walks with his owner and then cuddle up inside on a warm bed. Ben LOVES treats and would enjoy lounging around the house with a nice bone. He would also thrive in obedience training as he is smart and has a desire to please his people. Ben requires a large breed experienced home with no other pets in the home, preferably adult only home but he could be okay with kids 12 and older with evaluation. Take a look at Ben’s feature in partnership with NWCC: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cXF1oe0fZ1s Ben's is up to date on shots, neutered and micro-chipped. His adoption fee is $200.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Meet Huck! He is an adorable ~35 lb, ~1 year old Pitbull/Cattle Dog mix who came to us with his brother, Micah from an overcrowded shelter in CA. He has been DNA tested and is a major mutts with lots of breeds! (Pitbull, Herding breeds, Chow, American Bulldog and German Shepherd!) Huck is living in a loving foster home and this is what his foster mom has to say about him! Don't be fooled by Huck's serious face and dramatic eyeliner - he's no drama queen. He's more of a Prince Charming :) Extreme cuddlebug: loves to loll his head into yours while you're on the sofa together, or when you're driving. Wants to sleep on the pillows curled up right next to you. Will put his paws on you for pets and hugs. Food motivated: he does best with a slow feeder toys for meals and loves treats for training! Active and agile: when he gets the zoomies, he races from bed to sofa to bed to sofa. Parkour parkour! Dog friendly: Loves to with his dog friends! He would love another dog friend in the home. Bonds deeply with his person and will look for them, stand by them, follow them from room to room, and does a great recall for that person. Until the bond is solid, he needs to be on leash or in a well-fenced area (yard, dog park) Rides very well in the car! Takes time to warm up to kids younger than 10, but he is getting better! He has discovered they can be the source of many delicious dropped food morsels. Very happy to take long naps on the bed, on the sofa, on the armchair in your office. He loves to curl up like a bagel in his favorite spots! He is a popular boy at the morning neighborhood gathering and "babysitters" have described him as a lovebug. Huck is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450.

Story
Meet Tyson, affectionately known as "TY TY BOOTY," a 3-year-old pit bull who is really starting to come out of his shell. Tyson has a laid-back demeanor but enjoys a playful romp with other dogs in a little pittie rumble. While he hasn't shown off any zoomies yet, his curiosity keeps him eager to explore. Tyson is incredibly food and treat-driven, quickly hopping into his crate at bedtime in anticipation of a reward. Though he doesn't like being left alone and prefers to stay close to his people, Tyson is a sweet-natured pup with a hint of puppy mischief. He has a particular fondness for oven mitts and the occasional Amazon package, but with a bone to chew on, he settles down quietly. Tyson has been an easy foster. He might be a bit anxious around small children and large crowds but is wonderfully gentle with his foster family's 13-year-old autistic son. Tyson is looking for a loving home where he can be a loyal and wonderful companion. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Ginger is a resilient and loving dog who has come a long way from her days on the streets. When first rescued, Ginger was severely malnourished, but with dedicated care and plenty of love, she blossomed into the healthy, joyful dog she is today. Despite her rough start, Ginger's spirit shines in her affectionate nature and deep bond with her favorite people. One unique aspect of Ginger's appearance is her cropped ears, cut too short by her previous owners. Her fosters like to joke that maybe they secretly wanted a cat, and Ginger, with her unique look, carries it well! She's a wonderful snuggler, always ready to curl up beside you for a nap or lean in for extra affection. When it's playtime, Ginger transforms into an eager fetch partner, and when she's not running around, she loves basking in the sun. In addition to being very friendly with kids (having been fostered with teenagers), Ginger is also housebroken, making her easy to care for at home. She's great in a crate for a couple of hours, especially if she has a chew toy or a snack-filled Kong to keep her entertained. She also loves car rides and would make a fun, loyal road trip buddy. Although Ginger enjoys human company, she prefers to be the only dog in the household, where she can soak up all the love and attention. Ginger is ready to bring warmth, loyalty, and joy to a forever home that appreciates her unique charm and affectionate personality. Ginger is being fostered in Seguin, TX. She can be adopted in other states (except NH and MA due to their quarantine laws). Her adoption fee is $250 & her transport fee is $300 if adopted out of state. To apply for Ginger, please fill out her application below: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-527

Story
Animal Profile: Rita is an estimated 18-month old 55 lb now spayed female pitbull who was a stray intake to the high-kill Downey animal shelter in LA County. She was assessed to be social and friendly with people and dogs. We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care.  Shelter Notes: Meet Rita, a playful and energetic dog looking for her forever home! Rita has a vibrant personality and loves to engage with other dogs, though she can be a little forward in her approach. When she first met her kennel neighbors, she was eager to interact, barking and jumping to get their attention. After a quick use of a pet corrector, Rita was calm and relaxed, greeting her handler with a wagging tail and a friendly demeanor. On walks, she is confident, leading the way with a slight pull on the leash as she bypasses other dogs without issue. In play, Rita is a fun-loving and active companion. She loves to engage in chase and wrestling games, often taking the lead in initiating play and happily allowing other dogs to chase and tackle her. She's very tolerant, even when other dogs mouth her ears or legs during play. Rita enjoys taking breaks from her playful antics to solicit petting before diving back into the action. With a social, wiggly demeanor and an affectionate, push-pull play style, Rita would do best in a home with high-energy, large dog companions. She's a wonderful, spirited dog who's ready for adoption and is sure to bring joy to an active household! Foster Updates: Rita is very much a puppy - with all the puppy behaviors in a large body - but she has been a quick study learning manners like not mouthing and jumping up. She is very smart and eager to learn. Rita loves to snuggle and watch TV with you (yes she watches TV!) and her sweet face will just melt your heart. She LOVES toys, though she's a pitty so the stuffies don't last very long. She hasn't shown destructive tendencies aside from her toys, though. She prefers toys and affection to show or furniture chewing -- good girl! Rita has been doing well for down time in her crate and is happy to sleep there at night without a peep, except her adorable snoring. She has played well with some dogs in foster care but is too forward with others, so she will need the right match in a dog buddy; she would also thrive as the only dog. Rita will need a feline free home since she has shown some prey drive. This sweet affectionate girl will be a wonderful loving companion in a home that can provide structure, basic training, and of course snuggles! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current core vaccinations per AVMA standards, negative heartworm test and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fees benefit all the animals in our rescue, and may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from the the high kill LA Downey animal shelter and transported via Wiggle Butts, arriving to Seattle area foster care 11/24/24. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.December 14, 2024, 5:26 pm

Story
**THIS DOG IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AT THE SHELTER.* If you see an animal you`re interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-PetBuddy is a handsome fella looking for his forever home. His ideal family would have previous bully breed experience and own their own home. Buddy would do best in a home with a polite, playful female dog or may be content to be your one and only, a meet and greet is required with any resident canines. This guy will require a feline free home. We don`t have any history on this sweet guy with children so children in the home should be 10 years and older as he is a strong, energetic dude. Buddy is an expert escape artist and will need to have a good confinement plan and supervision when outside.Buddy went out with our Wandering Rover program and they had this to say about him: Buddy is an amazing dog! He does very well in the car while it is moving! When you stop, he likes to talk and whine but he stops as soon as you start driving again! He walks very well on the leash and has definitely had previous training as I got him to sit and speak!! He seems more food motivated than toy but he still carried a stuffed animal around the park! Buddy has some separation anxiety and would need someone that can spend time with him!Another Rovers said: We took Buddy for a car ride, a walk on a trail, a visit to Petco, and a picnic in the park. He was fairly high anxiety for the first hour or so, especially in the car, but he did calm down after getting to know us and going for a long walk. He did show some separation anxiety- if one of us walked away he would whine until we came back. We had a great time with Buddy. He is anxious at first but settled down nicely after a walk and some time. He loves to walk and sniff and had a lot of fun walking on some trails. We took him to Petco and he was very good. He met a ton of people and did great- he even picked a toy and carried it up to the register himself- so cute! He takes treats like a gentleman, but doesn’t seem very food motivated. Overall, Buddy is a sweet and sensitive boy and with some time and patience his personality really shines.

He is sweet but had a rough beginning so will need a rescue experienced home that will help him build trust, learn basic obedience and gain confidence. He is looking for a home that is adult only or with kids over the age of 16. He will thrive in a home where he can be active, he loves to run around, go for walks, and would make an excellent outdoor activity partner. Cody can do well with other dogs but it is always best to do proper introductions to make sure it is a good match and that all parties 'mesh'. Story
Say hello to Archie! Archie is a 3-year-old English Bulldog who came to us an owner surrender as his owner was not able to care for him. Prior to coming to us, he lived much of his life in a crate where he was not well socialized or cared for. Archie has made huge strides since going into his foster home and we have found that he forms a deep and loving bond with his person, and we think he would do best in a home with one owner. He is looking for a confident, experienced owner who will spend time to help him reach his full potential. Archie is happy with other dogs, and would do fine with other dogs in the home but is best suited to a home without children and without a lot of foot traffic. He does well in a crate, and he is also house broken. Archie has quite the personality and loves to go for a ride in the car. In addition to car rides, he absolutely loves his toys and will entertain himself for hours on end. Archie is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.

Sister is a very sweet girl, but also extremely shut down at the moment. She has had a rough past and is looking to leave that behind her but will need time to open up and learn to trust again. She is very loving and gentle with her person, but will need a patient adopter in a quiet home that will give her time to open up and gain confidence. Sister needs work on leash training and loves to remain in places that feel safe and cozy for now. She would also not do well in a home with cats. When she's scared, she'll want to hide.
