Details
Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Oakley is not quite 2 years old. We rescued her from an elderly person in our community. She is up to date on shots, spayed, and has a microchip. She is crate trained and sleeps well there all night, but she prefers to snuggle in bed with you. She is crate trained and spends time in there when we aren't home with minimal fuss. Oaks is bell trained to go outside to go potty. She is fully potty trained. She loves fetch, playing tug, chasing and eating bugs. She sits and waits for treats and food. You can sit next to her on the couch and eat a meal without her interruption though she may drool a little. Oakley loves to snuggle! She hasn't been exposed to small children, so I recommend a home with no small children. She definitely will need some more training. Oakley has enjoyed playing with other dogs her size but would do BEST as an only dog. She needs to be in a home with no small animals: no cats and no small dogs. We have 2 small dogs which is why she needs a new home

Story
Hello! My name is Zeus the Magnificent. I am a certified American House Hippo! Doc says I need to lose some pounds to get me healthy and help with my walking. I`m looking for a home without stairs as I lack mobility as I continue to lose weight. Obviously, I love snacks and am very food motivated. I live in a home with children and have been doing well with them after a careful and conscientious introduction. I can get overwhelmed when things get busy so I may like a more relaxed household. I love hanging out on the couch or lounging outside. If you are interested in adopting me, please email frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org.

Story
Hello! My name is Todd. I am a big goofy guy who loves getting pets from our volunteers. My favorite thing to do at the shelter is snuggle with our dog walkers in the yard. I have lots of experience walking on a leash and gently take treats from my handler. I am not at the shelter as I am currently staying in a foster home. Here is what my foster has to say about me:`So Todd (really think Teddy would have been better suited to him) really is a gentle soul! He seems to be far more relaxed with female family members. He is warming up to my husband but is very leery. He does very well with our son, Dalton, though. Loves cuddling more than anything else (except for eating, of course). Is very gentle to play with family members and toys have lasted 5 days so far. Walks are pretty chill and he doesn`t bolt for the door. He does very well in the kennel during the day and easily goes in the kennel when we all leave. At night he sleeps in his bed next to ours but does give a few tries jumping in with us. He has good manners during family mealtime. He does bark when startled but settles down easily. He seems very protective but is still a little timid.` If you are interested in adopting me, please email frontdesk@auburnvalleyhs.org to learn more about me!

Story
Arlo is a sweet, loving, curious and goofy dog. He loves attention and loves his underside rubbed. He does well on leash and loves walks but also enjoys running around a back yard or field. He can also entertain himself with a chew toy or bone. He is very smart and listens well but will sometimes becomes distracted with a lot of stimuli. He likes the company of other dogs and likes playing with them, however he will become possessive of certain toys. Arlo will best thrive with a loving family that can give him attention as well as other dogs who are not interested in toys, or in a home with no other dogs. Arlo is just under two years old and has been with our family for just over a year. We adopted him from a local rescue group when he was 4 months old. It is very painful for us but due to behavior issues and interactions with our other dog, we cannot keep him and need to find him a new home.

Story
We adopted Winston from the Humane Society earlier this year. We were informed that he had some trouble adjusting to prior homes he had to share with other pets. We were told that, as a couple with no kids or pets, he would thrive in the environment we could give him. While Winston was, and still is a huge cuddler, and will give lots of love, we have uncovered a few behavioral issues, some we have corrected, and others that have proved difficult to mend. These include: -Reactivity issues -Leash training(corrected) -Barking during intense excitement(corrected) -Separation anxiety -Boredom -Getting into things he is not supposed to like food/trash/couch cushions Our relationship with Winston has changed since we got him. We've had to crate train him while we are gone to avoid him tearing up our place while we're not there. We feel that this is unfair to him as he now is caged most of the day. We hope to find him a home where he can get the attention and help he needs.

Story
This is Carl! He is the sweetest of the sweethearts. Unfortunately I cannot breathe when he is around, hence the need for a better home. Carl is a 7 month old puppy. Super friendly and well behaved generally. He has a few tricks under his belt already. Sit, stay, down, up (front paws on an elevated surface), paw, and he can wipe his paws off on a towel. Carl needs space in his new home. Backyards are helpful. If you do bot have a yard, thats fine! He loves to go on walks and will happily come home and sleep after. He loves to be pet and snuggled. He generally does not bark, but he still whines sometimes. He is a puppy afterall! Carl loves love and loves to play. If that is you… then he is all in!
