Buddy found himself in a facility that claimed to be a rescue but did not function to the standards that it should have and Buddy sat for 4.5 years in an outdoor concrete run with little interaction or daily comforts. All of that has changed for Buddy and while he now has things like a couch, soft beds, soft grass, daily walks in the woods, treats, cuddles, and gets to sleep indoors, what he has been through shows emotionally. Buddy is as gentle and sweet as they come but understandably shy, nervous and a little overwhelmed by his new world. Meet Hank! Hank has a similar story as some of our previous dogs. He was taken in by a "rescue" but instead of finding a forever home he sat for years in a concrete, outdoor run. Hank is a young senior around 7 years old and the class clown of the rescue. His joy is contagious and he demands attention everywhere he goes. Hank gets along wonderfully with other dogs male or female, large or small. He currently shares a room with Joni and Buddy at the rescue. Did we also mention Hank is part seal? This boy LOVES the water and enjoys his pool and hose time whenever he gets the chance. Hank has shown some signs of seperation anxiety if he can see and hear you. Once his people are out of sight or hearing range he settles right down and snoozes his day away. We are working with a trainer to address this along with helping ease Hank's transition to his new life and surroundings. Hank is working on his crate training, basic obedience and manners, he walks well on leash and enjoys daily shorts outings. Hank loves everyone but because he is a big boy who thinks he is a small boy we feel a home with older children 13+ would be ideal. Sammy is an approximately 2 yo. 60 lb., playful girl. Sammy has come to us pretty insecure but has gained confidence through her training and is doing fabulous. Sammy loves to play with toys. She loves to chase and tug and play with the ball. She's probably one of the most play driven dogs we've had so her adopter must enjoy fulfilling that drive. Once Sammy has had a good play session and some nice walks, she settles nicely with a good chew bone in her crate. Sammy walks well on leash, does well in her crate, is potty trained, knows general obedience, as well as the "place" command. We're looking for adopters who want to continue her training as well as provide her with the structured environment she's had at our rescue. She thrives in such a setting. Sammy is also very affectionate and loves a good snuggle session. She's a people dog who enjoys just hanging out with them, in typical pittie fashion. Sammy is a medium energy dog with a general calm temperament. She loves going on hikes and rides very well in the car. She does well with other friendly and respectful dogs. She was unsure of them when she came to us but slow introductions with our wonderful helper dogs have given her the ability to feel more comfortable and confident around them. She's been doing great with dogs her size. She doesn't quite know how to play properly but is slowly figuring it out. Alina was born around 05/15/24. Her siblings were adopted and now it's time for this sweet girl to find a home of her own. Alina is confident and energetic. Even though she likes to chase during play, she has not shown any interest in our chickens or cats. She actually ignored them both. Alina has learned commands quickly and is smart and driven. She's super food and toy motivated which makes training relatively easy and fun. Malone is approximately 1 yo., 60 lbs. Malone is sweet and goofy and still has some of the puppy characteristics. However, in general he has a beautiful calm demeanor. Malone loves his walks and enjoys playing with the flirt pole or a good round of tug. He has a typical bully personality in that he's down for mostly anything active but then can also chill nicely and chew on a good bone. He can be a goofy boy who has some silly mannerism and loves a good snuggle with his people. Malone is potty and crate trained and walks fabulous on leash without many distractions. He knows basic commands. He does get excited when he sees other dogs on walks but we've been working with him diligently and he is doing well for the most part. We're looking for someone to continue with his training as he's gotten an awesome foundation. We've also started "place" work which has helped him with his impulse control. Malone does well with easy going dogs with slow introductions. We think he'd enjoy a female buddy in his home who is non-confrontational and chill but loves a good wrestle at times.
