Story
Sirobi is 4 years old her birthday is February 6th. The reason for rehoming is because not only do we also have her brother who is extremely aggressive and has attacked her on numerous occasions. But we also don’t have the time to give her the life she deserves so for her best interest we are looking for a loving single pet home. She does amazing with kids of all ages since she grew up with them. She is potty trained but still has accidents from time to time. We don’t know how she will react with other animals as she has shown aggression towards other dogs but there have also been times where she has played with other dogs and was fine. She does show toy aggression signs to other animals but never to people.

Story
We adopted Millie about 10 months ago from Capital Humane Society. She is approximately 3 years old, but we dont know for sure, as she was a rescue. She had been rescued from a hoarding situation with approximately 8 other dogs in the home. We chose Millie because when we went to meet several dogs, she immediately just dropped into our laps and wanted to be held. Her only goal in life is to be loved and be near her humans. She has been great with our 3 year old daughter, but she just doesnt have good spacial awareness when it comes to her, and she is 70lbs of muscle. She frequently knocks her over, not intentionally, she just doesnt realize how big she is and our daughter is very easily put off balance. Again, this is no fault of hers, Millie just thinks of herself as a small lap dog. Millie would do great with kids that are just a little bit older/bigger than what our daughter is.

Story
Ace is a former shelter dog that would love to find his way out of boarding as the kennel environment is starting to wear on him after several months. He is 6-7 years old and weighs approximately 62 pounds. Our best guess on his breed is an American pit bull terrier mix of some kind.   Ace loves to go on walks and only pulls when he spots a squirrel. He does not enjoy water, but will sit like a good boy during bath time. We suggest that Ace be an only dog and think he would do best with older children.   In general, Ace loves cuddling and is usually relaxed. But watch out because Ace likes to keep you on your toes when he has a case of the zoomies. He also loves to chew on toys, but they need to be tough and durable.   Suggested adoption donation: $300.00   Foster/Adoption form available at nebraskanokill.org     October 21, 2024, 12:18 am

Story
Cain is an American pit bull terrier mix and a former shelter dog that has been in boarding for several months. He is neutered and weighs 55 pounds. This 6-year-old, goofy boy needs some training to be the best dog he can be, but our organization is willing to pay for his training if we can find the right foster or adoptive home.   Cain loves to cuddle up in his blankets and wouldn’t mind relaxing to a movie with you. He is great at going outside because he loves to sunbathe. Cain also likes to chase toys, especially when it’s his idea. Do you have a fenced yard where he could enjoy time outdoors and play fetch? He also walks fairly well on leash.   Cain has lived with other dogs, but doesn’t always get along the greatest, so we'd prefer to find a home where he could be the only dog. He loves people, but we also think he would live his best life in a home with adults and perhaps older children.   Suggested adoption donation: $300.00 Foster/adoption forms available at: nebraskanokill.org  October 21, 2024, 12:18 am

Story
Aurora Bully mix Spayed female 2 years old, 41 pounds Two-year-old Aurora was in a tough situation, but she had neighbors who cared and took her in when she was facing an uncertain future. Aurora’s “helpers” made sure to get her spayed, microchipped and updated on her vaccinations, but they are moving soon and need to find a more permanent home for her. Aurora is housetrained and weighs approximately 41 pounds. She loves to cuddle next to you or on your lap when you sit down and is very sweet with children, gently following them around. Aurora knows several commands (sit, lay down, outside) and is very smart and eager to learn more. She’ll also go into her kennel when asked.   She is curious and eager to meet other dogs on walks and she does well at the dog park. Aurora also seems submissive to cats. She’s playful and, as with most young dogs, can be high energy at times so might do well with someone who takes her for frequent walks or an occasional run. Aurora is anxious to find her fur-ever home and with that adorable face and relaxed temperament, we’re hoping someone will find her as irresistible as we do. BONUS: Aurora’s adoption fee is partially covered, so please submit your application via our website at:  www.NebraskaNoKill.org . Suggested adoption donation: $225.00    October 21, 2024, 12:18 am

Story
Meet Akimaru, a neutered male Pit Bull mix with a sweet and loving nature, looking for his forever home! Akimaru was surrendered to CHS by his previous owner due to his habit of digging holes, but he's ready for a fresh start in a home where he can feel safe and loved. Akimaru is social with other dogs and enjoys spending time with people, though he can get overstimulated quickly by invasive dogs. Because of this, he would do best in a calm and quiet environment, ideally with respectful dogs who can match his energy. He may start off a little shy and timid, but with time, he warms up and becomes affectionate, enjoying attention and pets from his humans. If you're looking for a dog who may need a little time to adjust but will become a loyal and loving companion, Akimaru could be the perfect fit. With patience and the right environment, he'll thrive and show his true, gentle personality. Primary Color: Fawn Secondary Color: White Weight: 58 Age: 1yrs 6mths 2wks
