Story
Since Lincoln`s arrival, he has been a gentleman and enjoys showing off all the tricks he can do! Lincoln knows how to sit, lay down, give paw and speak. He is strong on a leash, but the help of a harness makes walking much easier. Lincoln enjoys playing with toys and getting attention. Lincoln also needs to be the only pet. While here at the shelter, Lincoln has meet a couple of other dogs and does not like them. Lincoln has a hard time focusing when they are around and needs a home where he will not be in a busy neighborhood full of them. He is happy when meeting new people and cannot wait to be a part of a family again. As for kids, Lincoln is hoping to find a household with older kids that can participate in taking him for daily walks. Otherwise, an adult home would suit him just fine. If you are viewing this dog’s profile on Adopt-a-Pet and are interested in adopting, please head to our official website at www.worcesterarl.org to fill out a Dog Adoption Inquiry Form, which will be located under the dog’s profile.

Meet Joker! This goofy boy lives up to his name. Joker is tons of fun and sure to put a smile on your face! Joker has become a staff favorite and goes jogging two and a half miles a few times a week with his favorite volunteer. Other days Joker can be found keeping staff company in an office or in our fenced yard practicing his agility skills. Joker is eager to please and a sucker for attention. He is hoping to find a home with someone creative who can teach him some new tricks and reward him with lots of treats. Joker is a fast learner and very attentive. With loads of puppy like energy, this young boy would love to find a home without other dogs. He longs to have a yard to call his own where he can run in the shade and relax in the sun. Due to Joker`s overly enthusiastic nature when greeting people and during play, a home without young children will be the most fun for him at this time. Request a visit with Joker today!

Story
Hi, my name is Kaizer. I am a pretty relaxed boy looking for a home with a fenced yard where I can sunbathe for most of the day. You see, I enjoy the simple things in life. A delicious meal, some good companionship, and a fun game of fetch. What I prefer to avoid is the dog park. If you ask me, all those young silly dogs jumping all over each other seems a bit unnecessary. I am way too cool for any of that funny business. I am looking forward to finding a home with adults who appreciate the same things that I do. Click the link below and take the first step in setting up a visit with me!

Story
This little monkey is George. George is a year old cutie pie with quite the zest for life. How did he get the name George, you ask? This fun loving guy is as curious as they come! Kennel life has been stressful for George but this smart cookie cozied up to the boss, quickly becoming BFF`s with our Executive Director, Kristin. Since becoming Kristin`s office mate, we have learned a lot about him. George is a happy-go-lucky fella who enjoys meeting people though is occasionally a little shy to start. Once he warms up, he is all about getting and giving love! George has a lot of energy and will make a wonderful companion to an active and outgoing person, or couple, who matches his play-style and exuberance level. He enjoys running in the fenced yard, going on walks, and playing indoors with his toys so he’s looking for an active family that can give him the exercise and play time he desires. He is also very smart and loves to learn new things, especially when he’s rewarded with treats.George is a big fan of toys - every day is Christmas for this guy! Given his play-style and level of excitability, we think he would do best in home without young children. George will also be happiest as your only love (no other pets, please!) but trust us, with his fun nature and sweet personality, you won`t yearn for another dog. Cats and critters are also a no for our curious pal. Like many terriers, his prey drive is strong. Since George is still young, he would benefit from some training - positive reinforcement only! He has attended training classes with our volunteer dog trainer at the shelter which he truly enjoys. It is recommended he will continue with this training. George would love a family that would work with him on his manners and impulse control to help him build off of the progress he`s made here with us. At the shelter, George has learned ‘sit’, ‘leave it’, ‘wait’, and ‘paw’. Continued training will benefit him as he needs work with loose leash walking and learning the polite way to greet people. Our friend George likes to jump! We have also started crate training where he enjoys relaxing in his crate with his toys! As much as we love this brindle beauty, George deserves a family to call his own and Kristin can’t wait to introduce you to her special boy! To learn more about George and request to meet him in person, please compete the inquiry form below!

Story
Handsome Hershey is a very shy, kind and wonderful boy! He appreciates gentle handling, and is looking for an adopter with previous experience owning a dog, who can help boost his confidence. This gentle soul is worth getting to know. Since arriving at the shelter Hershey is learning to walk on leash and enjoys playing with other gentle dogs and spending time with volunteers. Hershey may do well in a home with other calm dogs, who can help him adjust to his new surroundings but they would have to meet first. Treats and toys are just one way to this boy`s heart. Having a reserved disposition, this sweet boy is looking for a quiet, patient home. If there are to be children in the home, they should be older teens who have been around dogs before. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. PittieLove Rescue, Inc. a 501c3 orgainization is an all-volunteer, foster home based rescue. Adoption Fee: $450 Our information is current if you are interested please fill out an adoption form here http://www.pittieloverescue.org/adoption-application It is the easiest way to start the communication and adoption process. Meet Maggie! This 2-year old house panther came to us from our friends at a local animal shelter after being found as a stray. We’re shaking our heads as to how this playful and snuggly midnight princess didn’t have a home. Maggie can be a little shy at first, but is a friendly and active youngster who loves all dog toys, but reallllly loves squeaky toys (though she destroys them with gusto!). This shady lady, with the BEST espresso coat, wags and wiggles when she meets new people, but isn’t a fan of loud city noises. One of her favorite pastimes is snuggling on the couch, or in bed…she just wants to be close to her human all the time and basically sits on top of her foster mom at any opportunity.   Maggie loves the water and will submerge her whole body into it (but hasn’t actually swam). She’s great in the car and either looks out the window or lays down in the backseat. She’s a loving and velvety raven pooch who just needs a home to call her own! Maggie is basically a big puppy and is working on some basic manners like jumping and counter surfer. But is making strides in a short time and would just need a forever family who will continue to work on the basics. She is currently in a foster home in Boston and we have discovered the city has stressed her out, so she’s looking for a quiet place to settle. And while she did great on her dog tests, she has gotten a bit more stressed out by some dogs in the city. Whether that’s due to the stress of city living or is just who she is remains to be seen. Because of this, were looking to place her as an only dog, but she has so much love to give, she’s all you need! Due to her size and a lack of history, older kids would be best for this smoky gal. Introducing Emmy! This perfectly bovine spotted little lady came to us from our friends at Forever Paws Shelter after being found as a stray. Huge thank you to longtime PittieLove fosters and supporters Tom and Michelle for opening their home to this bouncy girl and giving her a safe space to stretch her legs. Emmy is a practically perfectly well-rounded all around awesome young girl. Some of her favorite pastimes include zooming around the backyard with her four-legged foster brothers and long leash walks. She’s also a silly little noodle- she likes to sploot on top of shrubs or plantings in the yard instead of laying in the grass like her brothers   Emmy loves car rides, she politely sits in the backseat admiring the scenery as it passes. If you are lucky enough to add Emmy to your family, be prepared for endless snuggles! When she isn’t bopping around the yard or otherwise being the goofy young girl she is, she can be found cuddled up snugly with her foster dad on the couch. Emmy’s dream family is one who will include her in all their adventures, from walks and car rides to snuggles and family game nights. Story
Dogs Name:  ZoeyAge: Approximately 8 months Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (38.5%), German Shepherd (30.3%), Catahoula (16.2%), Boxer (15%)Current size: 35lbs Size potential: 45-50lbs Leash trained: yes Crate Trained: yesPotty trained: yesAlso knows basic commands (sit, lay down, stay) Kids: Is very sweet with children and happy to be around them, but can be very hyper. Recommend children aged 3 or older, only because Zoey may knock a smaller child over when she gets her full body wiggles from excitement. But she currently lives with a 2 year old and is getting better each day about containing her joy until she’s away from a small person! Other animals: Extremely friendly with other dogs, she could befriend a coyote honestly. Unsure of her temperament with cats, as there’s none in the home, but I would expect her to be very curious and may overwhelm a cat because she gets so excited about new things, so I would use caution with introductions because she loves to jump around with animals to play. Energy level: High House or apartment: Both would suit her but each ideal life style would look a little different. Story/background: Zoey was found as a stray on the road in September 2024. She was malnourished, covered in fleas and ticks, but was still unbelievably excited to give someone love. The woman who found her took her straight to the vet clinic and started treatment for the fleas and ticks, ear mites, and intestinal parasites. She was boarded at the clinic for two weeks, and was worked with closely by a veterinary technician (current foster) that taught her basic commands, leash training, kennel training, and potty training. She went home with the woman who found her, but unfortunately 3 out of her 4 dogs did not take to Zoey and began attacking her. Luckily she never got hurt, but one of the other dogs hurt the owner while they were trying to get her off Zoey so they decided it wasn’t safe to keep Zoey with them anymore. After trying to find her a place to go, they couldn’t find anyone and made the heartbreaking decision to have her put to sleep. The technician that worked with her couldn’t bear to put her down so decided to take her in as a foster. She has been living with 5 other dogs, 3 females and 2 males ranging from 7 months old to 9 years old. She gets along great with all the dogs but really loves playing with the younger male dogs. Ideal home/family lifestyle: Zoey would do well in either a house or an apartment. In a house she would do best with other dogs, especially dogs that like to play. She would be happy to have children to play with as well, with a yard to run around in (will need to be fenced as she has not been off leash trained.) In an apartment, she would be good as a single pet, but would need a very active owner that would be willing to take her on daily walks and have an area like a dog park to get her zoomies out in. I truly believe she would be a perfect travel buddy, she does well in the car and would love hiking and camping activities. She’s very smart and agile, so someone interested in an active but trainable pet would suit her best. She’s incredibly loving, and very silly, I know she will bring any family or person so much joy. ##2225871##

Roxie is 8 years old and born april 10, 2016! My grandfather had rescued her when she was 1 years old. He unfortunately passed away last year. I’ve had her since and need to find her a forever home. She is a wonderful dog! She just needs more attention than I can give with a toddler and a newborn on the way. She is such a loyal and protective dog. She loves cuddles and LOVES to play! Her preferred toy is a massive rock (I think that’s why they named her Roxie). She knows sit, sit pretty, lay down, and paw. We have 3 cats who she gets along with and another dog! She is gentle with my 1 year old but her tail is a bit uncontrollable. She still has the energy of a puppy and definitely needs retraining on a leash. She is truly such a lovely dog and it breaks my heart to have to rehome her.

Story
Meet Blitz! Blitz is a 5-year-old, 55 pound working dog. He's smart, food driven, and loves playing fetch. He sleeps through the night in his crate, is house trained, loves learning new tricks, and can be good with other dogs if they allow him to calmly greet them. Blitz would do best in an adult only home, with an owner who is active. He loves going on walks, runs, hikes and car rides. He can be wary of new people, and will need someone to continue to train him on confidence building. Blitz will walk in a heel when requested, he is a quick learner, super food motivated, and will LOVE his owners immensely. Update from foster Mom: With his people, he is the BEST dog, and he's good with dogs if they aren't pushy. He's a quick learner, a cuddle bug, and house-trained. He LOVES hiking with me in the woods, has an amazing recall, and loves playing fetch. I believe he would be the best dog on a farm, where he isn't forced to interact with strangers. I strongly believe that when he is off leash, he will choose to avoid strangers as opposed to confronting them. So why has this amazing already trained pup been with us so long? He doesn't do too well with strangers. We've gotten people interested, but seemingly they seem to ignore his "wary of new people" bit in his bio, and those who have applied want a friendly dog who is ok with meeting everyone. Are you someone who will allow Blitz to become comfortable with strangers slowly? Maybe an active outdoorsy introvert? Or okay with leaving your pup at home while you go out to be extroverted? Blitz is AMAZING. He just needs someone who understands he isn't too fond of people until he feels safe with them. This means not allowing others to approach him on walks and when out and about. No trips to Home Depot or TJ Maxx for this guy. He only needs outings with his new parents! P.S. This means he will take time to warm up to you too! -- If you are interested in finding out more about Blitz, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-67 Blitz is being fostered in Worcester. The adoption fee is $250. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Mama Gigi is a MOST ADORABLE, 63 pound, 7 year old bulldog mix seeking her forever home. She is a very sweet, loving pup, who enjoys playing with toys, going on walks, and ice cubes.
