Story
Meet Deniro! He`s happy, bouncy, and super wiggly. Deniro loves to play and is full of energy, so he`d make a great companion for a hiker, runner, or just an admirer of the great outdoors. We think Deniro would be most happy in a quieter setting - he seems to be a little worried by the traffic here at the shelter. He could live with a well-matched dog friend with thoughtful introductions, but would be just as happy as your one and only. While Deniro has his playful side, he also gets SUPER snuggly once he`s gotten his activity needs met! Kids in the home should be able to participate in training and unfazed by a bouncy pup and their goofy antics. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by MSPCA Northeast Animal Shelter. We have open adoption hours 11:30am-5pm daily - no appointment or application needed. Please note, in an effort to keep the stress levels reduced for the dogs in our care, our dog kennel areas will not be open to walk through. Interested adopters will work with a matchmaker on staff to determine which dog(s) they are interested in and if we can identify a match, potential adopters will be able to meet those dogs outside of the kennel. Cat areas will remain open to walk through.

What`s up Doc? Doc is a big boy with a heart full of puppy energy! Doc is active, playful, and affectionate—he’s always ready to bowl you over with his enthusiasm and love. While he may still have some work to do on his manners, he’s eager to please and would thrive in a home that’s excited to help him learn and grow. Doc enjoys playing with well-matched dog friends here at the shelter, though his forward and intense approach might be a bit too much for some pups. For this reason, we recomend he meet any potential dog siblings before going home. If you’re looking for a lovable companion who’s full of life, Doc might just be the perfect match for you!If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by MSPCA at Northeast Animal Shelter. Story
Meet Crystal, a sensitive soul who blossoms into a sweet and silly girl once she feels comfortable. Crystal loves to play with toys and can become very excited during play, so she is looking for an adopter who will help her learn her manners and work on settling down for some quiet time between play sessions. She can be nervous in new situations and will thrive with patient adopters who observe her body language and adjust their training pace to keep her feeling safe and capable of facing new challenges. She is very smart and curious, which should come in handy during training!Crystal has made many human and dog friends during her time in the shelter, and would do well alone or with another dog in the home. Kids should be comfortable with a strong dog prone to jumping and mouthing, and should be able to participate in training to provide her with some consistency and help her learn what is expected of her. If you think this dog could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by MSPCA at Northeast Animal Shelter. Meet River, a goofy and playful pup who’s still adjusting to shelter life after taking some time to settle in. Though he’s a little nervous around new people, places, and things, River’s true personality shines through once he feels comfortable. With his familiar human friends, he’s all about silliness, affection, and fun. River can be nervous with some dogs but loves to play with others, so we recommend a meet-and-greet with any potential canine siblings here at the shelter. He’s looking for a patient and understanding adopter who can help him continue building confidence and show him how wonderful the world can be, one step at a time!

Story
Nala is a very sweet girl! She loves long walks, treats, and playing with any soft squeaky toy she can find. She also enjoys cuddles and snoozing on the couch with her human friends! Nala loves mealtime but displays food aggression when other animals are present. For this reason Nala will need to be placed in a home where there are no other pets. She will need someone who has experience with dogs who have a past history of fear induced aggression (or willing to be patient with her!). She does have anxiety and is very wary of men. A female owner or a couple who will show her the patience that she needs is preferable. We avoid dog parks because she does not do well with smaller breeds. She is OK with some other bigger breeds but always use caution. Nala will thrive in an environment where there are no children and no other pets in the house. Nala would benefit greatly with someone to work on her training, also!

Story
This is Storm. I adopted him from a shelter when he was 5 months old and he just turned 1. He is a super affectionate dog who loves to cuddle up and snore. He is also really playful and is coming into his teenage crazy. He is content most days to lay around and chew his bone and he is always up for play time with our other dog. Storm is house trained and he goes into his crate at night sometimes as early as 6 and sleeps until 7 or later. His living situation right now is quite limited and he isn't allowed in most areas of the house and there always needs to be supervision when with our other dog. While I wouldn't say that he needs to be in a one dog household, I do think that he may thrive better if he has more acsess to the house and isn't always worrying about another dog. He is still working on training (so keeping up with it would be good) but he is a very smart dog who has a lot of potential!

Santini has excellent manners and is house trained and crate trained. She would love to show off everything she has learned including sit, stay, down, and heel (for a treat of course)! Santini is happy to fit into her humans' routine and picks up quickly on new commands. She is very accommodating, walks well on a leash, and corrects/redirects easily. Santini loves to play, but is also happy to hang out with her people around the house.Santini would do best as the only dog in the house with an experienced dog owner who can maintain consistent boundaries and expectations to help her succeed and feel reassured. She is an athletic gal who loves to chase after balls and show off her signature ‘hopping prance’. She would love to have a fenced in yard or a local fenced in area so she can show off her moves! When she has finally expended all of her energy you can find her searching for the best sunbathing spot to take a snooze in. Bounce is the girl for you! She has a fantastically low-key personality, is low-maintenance in terms of exercise (she's happy with a leisurely walk or spending time out in a yard rolling in the grass and enjoying the sun,) and mostly just wants to spend time with her humans, even if it means simply snoozing at their feet.Bounce is fully crate and house-trained, non-destructive, incredibly intelligent, and highly motivated by treats so you can bond with her over doggy snacks while teaching her some new tricks. Although Bounce may be a little shy around unfamiliar people or places, she looks to her humans for reassurance and enjoys weekend outings to Home Depot, where she can proudly display her exceptional leash-walking skills. Bounce thrives on the love she gets from her family and would be happiest as an only pet where she can receive ALL of the attention and affection. Whether you work from home or in an office, have a fenced yard, or live in a denser area, Bounce will adapt easily to her new home as long as you can provide Bounce an abundance of love and snuggles! Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted. She loves everyone she meets, but sometimes she is a little wrecking ball (of love) so she may knock a small child over accidentally. She is used to being crated and is happy to hang out in her crate during the day if it has a comfy bed and while her human works in the same room . Elsa sleeps through the night in her crate (and even snores in a demure manner). Elsa is fully house trained (and will delay her morning bathroom break as long as possible so she can hit snooze a few extra times). Elsa is progressing well with her leash training and is a quick learner on tools that help her to not pull.Elsa enjoys life, is outgoing, and just wants to be everyone’s friend. Story
Meet Sampson, a happy, bouncy, and super wiggly guy who loves to play fetch and go for runs! He is full of energy and would make a great adventure companion for a hiker, runner, or otherwise active and outdoorsy adopter. Lots of things make Sampson excited, so adopters should continue to train with him and provide plenty of enrichment so he can learn to settle and enjoy quiet time. For an energetic and enthusiastic pup, he`s also surprisingly snuggly - he is very affectionate and loves belly rubs from his human friends. He`s still learning the difference between a play session and snuggle time, and could use some support to successfully make that transition. Kids in the home should be able to participate in training and unfazed by a bouncy pup and his goofy antics. If you think Sampson could be a good match for your home and would like to learn more, stop by MSPCA Northeast Animal Shelter.
