Meet Maggie! This 2-year old house panther came to us from our friends at a local animal shelter after being found as a stray. We’re shaking our heads as to how this playful and snuggly midnight princess didn’t have a home. Maggie can be a little shy at first, but is a friendly and active youngster who loves all dog toys, but reallllly loves squeaky toys (though she destroys them with gusto!). This shady lady, with the BEST espresso coat, wags and wiggles when she meets new people, but isn’t a fan of loud city noises. One of her favorite pastimes is snuggling on the couch, or in bed…she just wants to be close to her human all the time and basically sits on top of her foster mom at any opportunity.   Maggie loves the water and will submerge her whole body into it (but hasn’t actually swam). She’s great in the car and either looks out the window or lays down in the backseat. She’s a loving and velvety raven pooch who just needs a home to call her own! Maggie is basically a big puppy and is working on some basic manners like jumping and counter surfer. But is making strides in a short time and would just need a forever family who will continue to work on the basics. She is currently in a foster home in Boston and we have discovered the city has stressed her out, so she’s looking for a quiet place to settle. And while she did great on her dog tests, she has gotten a bit more stressed out by some dogs in the city. Whether that’s due to the stress of city living or is just who she is remains to be seen. Because of this, were looking to place her as an only dog, but she has so much love to give, she’s all you need! Due to her size and a lack of history, older kids would be best for this smoky gal. Introducing Emmy! This perfectly bovine spotted little lady came to us from our friends at Forever Paws Shelter after being found as a stray. Huge thank you to longtime PittieLove fosters and supporters Tom and Michelle for opening their home to this bouncy girl and giving her a safe space to stretch her legs. Emmy is a practically perfectly well-rounded all around awesome young girl. Some of her favorite pastimes include zooming around the backyard with her four-legged foster brothers and long leash walks. She’s also a silly little noodle- she likes to sploot on top of shrubs or plantings in the yard instead of laying in the grass like her brothers   Emmy loves car rides, she politely sits in the backseat admiring the scenery as it passes. If you are lucky enough to add Emmy to your family, be prepared for endless snuggles! When she isn’t bopping around the yard or otherwise being the goofy young girl she is, she can be found cuddled up snugly with her foster dad on the couch. Emmy’s dream family is one who will include her in all their adventures, from walks and car rides to snuggles and family game nights. If you and your family are looking to add the sweetest young house hippo to your crew, please complete an application! Name: David Age: approximately 1 Breed: pitbull Current size: medium Size potential: medium Leash trained: will walk on leash but is unsure still Crate Trained: yes Potty trained: Yes Kids: yes Other animals: yes better with females Energy level: medium House or apartment: either Story/background: David is the sweetest baby you’ll meet. He is so happy no matter what time of day it is. I found him a few months back in a ditch on the side of the road. I mainly stopped because I thought he was dead, turns out he wasn’t and he came home with me. We got him completely vetted and all his scares taken care of. You would never be able to tell he had a hard start to his life! Ideal home/family lifestyle: ideally with one other dog or the only dog. He gets along great with my female dogs! He does need a little manors training but he will do anything for a treat. He will literally dance when it’s food time!! ##2089765##

Story
Dogs Name:  ZoeyAge: Approximately 8 months Breed: American Pit Bull Terrier (38.5%), German Shepherd (30.3%), Catahoula (16.2%), Boxer (15%)Current size: 35lbs Size potential: 45-50lbs Leash trained: yes Crate Trained: yesPotty trained: yesAlso knows basic commands (sit, lay down, stay) Kids: Is very sweet with children and happy to be around them, but can be very hyper. Recommend children aged 3 or older, only because Zoey may knock a smaller child over when she gets her full body wiggles from excitement. But she currently lives with a 2 year old and is getting better each day about containing her joy until she’s away from a small person! Other animals: Extremely friendly with other dogs, she could befriend a coyote honestly. Unsure of her temperament with cats, as there’s none in the home, but I would expect her to be very curious and may overwhelm a cat because she gets so excited about new things, so I would use caution with introductions because she loves to jump around with animals to play. Energy level: High House or apartment: Both would suit her but each ideal life style would look a little different. Story/background: Zoey was found as a stray on the road in September 2024. She was malnourished, covered in fleas and ticks, but was still unbelievably excited to give someone love. The woman who found her took her straight to the vet clinic and started treatment for the fleas and ticks, ear mites, and intestinal parasites. She was boarded at the clinic for two weeks, and was worked with closely by a veterinary technician (current foster) that taught her basic commands, leash training, kennel training, and potty training. She went home with the woman who found her, but unfortunately 3 out of her 4 dogs did not take to Zoey and began attacking her. Luckily she never got hurt, but one of the other dogs hurt the owner while they were trying to get her off Zoey so they decided it wasn’t safe to keep Zoey with them anymore. After trying to find her a place to go, they couldn’t find anyone and made the heartbreaking decision to have her put to sleep. The technician that worked with her couldn’t bear to put her down so decided to take her in as a foster. She has been living with 5 other dogs, 3 females and 2 males ranging from 7 months old to 9 years old. She gets along great with all the dogs but really loves playing with the younger male dogs. Ideal home/family lifestyle: Zoey would do well in either a house or an apartment. In a house she would do best with other dogs, especially dogs that like to play. She would be happy to have children to play with as well, with a yard to run around in (will need to be fenced as she has not been off leash trained.) In an apartment, she would be good as a single pet, but would need a very active owner that would be willing to take her on daily walks and have an area like a dog park to get her zoomies out in. I truly believe she would be a perfect travel buddy, she does well in the car and would love hiking and camping activities. She’s very smart and agile, so someone interested in an active but trainable pet would suit her best. She’s incredibly loving, and very silly, I know she will bring any family or person so much joy. ##2225871##

Story
UPDATE: LUCY'S HERNIA SURGERY WAS SUCCESSFUL, AND SHE WILL BE READY FOR ADOPTION SOON! I’m Lucy, a 67-pound adult Heeler mix, possibly with some bully thrown in. I'm in a foster home right now with one of the volunteers, and she says I'm a total love bug and will make my new family very happy. I'm completely housebroken, I ride well in the car, I sleep in my crate all night, and I also love walks -- I walk well on a leash and don't pull. I love meeting new people and greeting children at the bus stop. My favorite activities are cuddling with my people, getting belly rubs, and sleeping with my stuffy toys on a cozy blanket in my crate. I’m well mannered and even get along with cats! I’m quiet and rarely bark. Now all I need is my forever family to give me a soft place to land and lots of love. Apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and someone will get right back to you with the next steps.
