Story
Pickles is a very special boy. My boyfriend and I had him and his twin brother since they were babies unfortunately the relationship has ended and my boyfriend can only keep one and I cannot have a dog where I am going. He is a very sweet boy once he warms up to you. We don’t have children so he is not kid friendly he also has high anxiety so it takes him a while to trust but once he does he is a huge lover. He would be best for quiet home with older people who loves to give attention and lots of belly rubs. He is house trained and extremely smart he knows sit and lay with just hand movements he says please and thank you also. He is not a car happy boy and does get car sick on long rides. He’s ok at the vet but needs meds when it is nail clipping time. He loves to talk and will have full conversations with anyone willing to listen. He is good on a leash and loves walks. He loves to sleep under the covers rolled up behind your legs and keep you warm all night.

Story
**IN FOSTER**Govida came to TJO as a very nervous stray, but once she settled in and became more comfortable, she proved just how much energy she had! She can still be nervous when meeting new people, but given time she can warm up quick. She loves to jump, and can reach some pretty impressive heights, so a tall fence is a must for anyone looking to meet her! OTHER PETS:Godiva is enthusiastic and overexcited when meeting other dogs. This energy can be a bit much for most dogs. She does well in play groups with other dogs but we anticipate she would do best as an only pet. NO CATS [Should Be Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE:Godiva would do best with someone who has experience handling large, energetic dogs with positive reinforcement, as she does pull strongly on the leash and can get overexcited. [Experienced]KIDS: Because Godiva is a strong dog that doesn't quite understand boundaries yet, she would do best in a home without any kids. She's jumpy and can get overexcited easily, and she's uncomfortable with some types of handling, so an adult with experience and confidence in handling would be best for her. [Adults Only]ACTIVITY LEVEL:Godiva is a lot of dog with a lot of energy. In a home environment, she would do best with daily walks and various forms of mental enrichment to keep her mind and body busy. [Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE:[Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED:While Godiva does seem to know `sit` and `paw,` she is still at the beginning of her positive training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Godiva not only learn her basic cues but also help her to feel more comfortable and confident in herself! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner as well! [Intense]GROOMING:[Minimal]November 2, 2024, 5:47 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
**IN FOSTER**OTHER PETS: Sadie is eager to meet other dogs and is relaxed while she is around them, she would likely get along with other dogs of a similar temperament and size - to ensure a good match Sadie should meet any dogs she would be living with prior to adoption. [Likely (Must Meet First)] NO SMALL DOGS OR CATSOWNER EXPERIENCE: Sadie will need support from her new owner as she settles in, she typically is not overstimulated but does become so at times, and someone who has not dealt with an overstimulated dog could be overwhelmed by the difference in behavior. Someone who will be a calm anchor to help Sadie recenter herself with while overstimulated would be her best fit. [Some Experience] KIDS: Sadie is a friendly girl who also tends to jump and get mouthy when excited. High pitched noises, flailing hands, and sudden movements can easily excite dogs or elevate already excited dogs even higher - a teen who has experience with dogs or a teen able to understand why such actions need to be avoided around Sadie would be her best fit. [13+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Sadie pulls a little but typically does well on leash and enjoys her walks, ensuring she gets a chance to explore her neighborhood daily, as well as mental enrichment, will help Sadie get the physical and mental stimulation she needs. [Good Walking Buddy]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Sadie bond with her new owner as well as help her learn basic cues. Sadie is a sweet girl who sometimes becomes overstimulated and snappy in the kennel, it is important to remember that redirection to a positive behavior and reward for said positive behavior will be key to helping Sadie handle overstimulation - but her new owner will also be responsible for learning what leads to overstimulation as well as finding creative ways to eliminate/avoid the causes. Story
Marley came to TJO quite itchy and nervous, but opened up quickly to staff and soon enjoyed all the butt scratches she could handle. Her favorite toy is tennis balls; she enjoys collecting them, fetching them, chewing on them, and sometimes tearing them open. Do you have room for a loveable tennis ball dragon?OTHER PETS: Marley was not interested in meeting hyper dogs, and gets grumpy with other dogs in playgroup if they play too roughly (even if not with her); Marley would do best as an only dog although she enjoys socializing with low energy dogs outside of the home. [Should Be Only Pet] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Marley is going to need time, compassion, and understanding while she settles in - it may take longer than usual for her to begin to settle in and open up. Someone with experience would be able to support Marley with a minimal learning curve. [Some Experience] KIDS: Marley can be intense with her food and takes time to warm up to people; she needs to live with humans who will not mess with her food bowls and understand she may take time to become affectionate with them - Marley is nervous around strangers and will growl at them. [15+ (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: Marley walks well on a leash and enjoys spending time outside, she enjoys fetch and other toy involved play with humans and does not get overly excited. Marley would do best with daily walks and some quality playtime. [Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: Marley arrived with some very itchy, scabby, skin. She had received vet care and is now back to 100%. A good relationship with a vet will ensure that Marley ages gracefully. [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Marley bond with her new owner as well as help her learn important skills. Story
Sophia was nervous when she first came in, once she realized who was taking her out and feeding her she came around quickly. She warms up in no time and would love a family that will keep up with her by taking her outside, teaching her leash skills with positive reinforcement, and even giving her some enrichment.OTHER PETS: Sophia has interest in other dogs but will take her time and initiate play if comfortable. Sophia doesnt like dogs who can be pushy she will reciprocate. She would do best with a calm, tolerant dog. [Case-By-Case (Must meet first)] NO CATS !!!!! OWNER EXPERIENCE:Sophia can be uncomfortable with handling she would do best in a home with someone who has some experience handling dogs and can give her the enrichment she needs. [some experience] KIDS:Sophia is uncomfortable with some handling she would do best with kids who understand when to give her space. She also can get jumpy when excited smaller kids can easily be knocked down. For that reason she would do best in a home with kids who are [12+(Must meet first)]ACTIVITY LEVEL:Sophia would do best in a active home where she can let loose all that energy. Sophia loves going outside, that excitment does lead her to pull, positive reinforcement will help her learn loose-leash skills. [Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED:Positive reinforcement training will help Sophia create a bond with her owner. She is a puller so learning new skills will come in handy. [Moderate]GROOMING: [Minimal]November 2, 2024, 5:47 pm
