Story
I am 92 lbs of pure LOVE! I am the classic pittie - I love to snuggle, love to play, and love to adventure! Walks are my favorite thing but they're not for the faint of heart, I'm a strong puller! That's something we can definitely work on together, I am food motivated and eager to please. I have so much affection to offer, I insist that the staff give me some snuggle time on a daily basis! More than anything, I would love to have a family and bed to call my own.Since I'm a pittie girl the shelter asks that any potential family own their own home, any kids in the home be over the age of 12, no cats, and any dogs in the home be the opposite sex. Let me be your next snuggle buddy!

Story
I'm Iggy! I'm a lovely guy with boundless potential. I'm only six months old and really smart already! I'm sensitive too, I make friends by snuggling up in your lap and looking up at you with my big puppy eyes. While I have the puppy energy in me somewhere, I don't have that typical 'energy exploding in every direction' sort of disposition. I'm calm and sweet, even when toys are around!I'd do well in just about any home, though the usual pittie rules do apply. You have to own your own home, kids be over the age of twelve, and any dogs in the home be the opposite sex. I'm bound to make a family very happy and I can't wait to give all of my love and affection to my new parents!

Story
I'm a sweet girl still trying to get used to the world. I'm not super confident just yet, but I do love to make new friends. Believe it or not, my favorite thing to do is cuddle! If you sit down with me, I'll hop right in your lap, if you lay with me, I'll be little spoon! Despite my anxiety, I'm still a very loving young lady. When I find my forever home, there's going to be so much more of my personality that I'll be able to show! Since I'm a pittie, the shelter asks that I go to someone who owns their own home, any children in the home be over the age of 12, no cats, and any other dogs in the home be the opposite sex. As long as you're willing to be patient with me while I adjust to the new sights and sounds, I'd love to be your new best friend!

Story
Want a pittie with a little less leg? A handsome guy smooshed into a compact body? All the love and licks you could ever get with slightly less slobber than usual? We present to you... Ocho!I'm a personable guy with unmatched confidence. My way of saying hello is by throwing myself into your lap and giving you a big ol' smile. I love to get hugs, scratches, and all sorts of physical affection! As you can surely expect, food is also a huge motivator for me. My background is a mystery and while we don't want to throw out speculations, it has left me very flinchy. Sudden movements will cause me to cower, toys being thrown make me flinch, and basically anything quick freaks me out. For this reason, we ask that any potential homes don't have any children whatsoever. The adults, too, should keep this in mind to avoid stressing me out. It's certainly something I can work on with positive reinforcement!Since I'm a pittie, the shelter asks that any potential adopters own their own home, no kids and no cats, and any other dogs in the home be the opposite sex. I'm a young guy, I'd love to spend the rest of my life in a place I can call my own!

Story
This brindle bully is Bella. She is one of a few dogs that has resided with one of our southern trainers for quite some time. Despite having some issues that make her a bit less adoptable, this pup still deserves a home where she is loved and her needs can be met. And having a trainer as a foster mom is a huge plus!!!Bella is very sweet, but also can be a bit sassy and bossy. Despite that, she has been been tugging at her fosters heart strings for a very long time. She would have definitely been a foster fail if she was not living in an environment with new dogs coming and going almost everyday.Bella is the perfect 50 pound lap dog. She does not understand the concept of personal space and will try to get in your lap at all costs, especially if you are her level.Even though, she has played well with carefully selected dogs, she will not roll over if that dog is overbearing or tries to correct her, Therefore, being an only dog would be ideal. She is not the girl who can go to a doggie daycare either so she would require a home that will exercise her and a fenced yard where she could run would be a bonus. At her age, she'd probably prefer being the only diva in the house. She's done fine with people and older children, so long as they're willing to give her some butt scratches. No cats or young kids.Bella is very obedient, very affectionate and routine oriented. She also crates fine. She does have a habit of jumping up and nose-butting your chin if she thinks her petting session is done (I want more loving please!). She has learned not to do that with foster mom, but will test the waters with new people.Name: BellaBreed: Pit Bull Terrier/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 8 years 4 months  (estimated as of 10/23/24)Weight: 50.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: NoGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $250.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
This handsome senior is Roscoe. He is one of a few dogs that has resided with one of our southern trainers, Desiree, for quite some time. Despite having some issues that make him a bit less adoptable, this guy still deserve a home where he is loved and his needs can be met. And having a trainer as a foster mom is a huge plus!!!Roscoe is truly very special to her. He was found weighing 38 lbs (about half of what he should have weighed) and needed assistance walking due to his body condition. He also had heavy heartworm, but has shown zero complications after treatment. After months and months of TLC, he is now a confident, outgoing, loving, playful (you wouldn't know he was a senior) boy. He's great with all people, but would get under foot with children. In all his years he has yet to realize he should bounce less around the small two legged. As big and goofy as he is, he's actually pretty sensitive, god forbid he stubs his toe!) When you reach down to pet him, he'll tuck himself into this tiny little ball like you're trying to attack him-but that's just how he prefers to be scratched. Typical PBM zoomies included at no extra charge- yep all 4 left feet of em!!!He likes to play ball and tug, great in the car, fine in the crate, would need supervision early on in a new environment to prevent marking. He's not been destructive with toys, but will chew out of boredom. However, he takes very well to correction (NO!) and understands quickly.Roscoe is just fine as an only dog, as long as you give him lots of love and some exercise. He will be yourabsolute best friend.Name: RoscoeBreed: Pit Bull Terrier/ American Bulldog Mix (he's taller than he looks in pictures)Sex: MaleAge: 9 years 9 months as of 10/23/24Weight: 60.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: NoGood with Cats: NoAdoption Fee: $250.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TNIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Rhett, just a good ole' boy seeking a new life in New England!Rhett found himself in need of a new home when his original owner could no longer care for him. At just two years old, Rhett is still young but has outgrown his puppy craziness. He's crate trained and making strides with housetraining, showing promising progress. With a medium energy level, Rhett enjoys winding down after play sessions and simply chilling out.Rhett isn't the type to be in your face; he's a bit timid around new people but is generally very friendly and submissive. He thrives on playing with his foster siblings, especially enjoying the role of big brother to puppies. While he would appreciate having a dog friend to hang out with, it's not a requirement for him. He's a calm companion in the car, content to ride along without any fuss.Rhett is ready to embark on his next adventure in a loving forever home. Could yours be the one he's been waiting for? Meet Cowboy - Local Foster in New England!Cowboy is an affectionate and loyal companion who would make a fantastic addition to any home. Originally adopted as a young puppy, Cowboy has grown into a smart, loving dog with many wonderful qualities. Recently, his family reached out because Cowboy isn’t happy sharing his space with their small dog, leading to some tension. So now, we’re looking for a forever home where Cowboy can thrive as the only pet. Here’s why Cowboy is such a catch:Human Loving: Cowboy absolutely adores his humans. Whether watching football or just hanging out, he’s happy being by your side, soaking up all the love and attention.Kid-Friendly: Cowboy has lived with children who adore him and is wonderful with them in return. No Crate Needed: This well-mannered boy doesn’t need to be crated when left alone. He’s not destructive and knows how to behave in the house—no chewing on things he shouldn’t!Smart & Well-Trained: Cowboy’s got some great manners! He’ll wait patiently for the “okay” before eating, lets you know when he needs to go out by nudging his leash, and sits politely when you pick up his leash, knowing it’s almost time for a walk.We can’t wait to find Cowboy a home where he’ll be the star. He’s ready to settle into his forever family and deserves all the love and stability he can get!Name: CowboyBreed: Mixed Breed Awesome Senior Boy!Sex: MaleAge: 6 1/2 years (estimated)Weight: 95 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesHousetrained: He does not need crating when you leave the hours. Meet beautiful Freya! 💜Freya is intelligent, curious, and very social. She has a warm and welcoming personality and loves both people and dogs. Although Freya loves everyone, her foster mom thinks a dog-savvy home would be ideal. We recently confirmed that Freya is essentially deaf (she sometimes responds to very high-pitched noise), but that does not slow her down—she’s been busy hiking and making new friends!!!Freya had FHO surgery in October 2023 and has healed well.Freya LOVES being included in family activities and is eager to embrace an active lifestyle, explore the outdoors, and enjoy snuggling on the couch and watching Animal Planet.Freya’s Ideal Home requires a gentle and patient household that’s willing and able to invest in training and include her as a beloved family member. Freya is still in her puppy phase and will benefit from training and structure to help her continue to learn manners. Freya would LOVE a playful furry sibling or a well-supervised doggy daycare for her social life. Freya needs a secured fenced in yard as she enjoys being outdoors as much as possible. Please consider giving this resilient, friendly, spunky, loving pup the chance she deserves. It will be amazing to experience the unconditional love and boundless joy she will bring to you.Check out this girl experiencing snow for the very first time. Sophie! She looks super serious, but she's loaded with personality.Meet Sophie, the fluffiest sweet and sour patch kid you’ll ever meet! Once a stray on the streets of Memphis, she was saved just in time, and boy, is she making up for lost time with her charm.House AND crate trained (though she's more of a “free-range” kinda gal). No mischief while her foster works, as long as you keep your shoes out of reach – flip flops = chew toys in Sophie’s world. The warning: Hide. Your. Footwear. You’ve been warned.Personality:Cuddle bug one moment, playful tornado the next.LOVES to wrestle with her foster siblings but is learning when to hit the brakes.Adventures:Car rides? Yes, please!Walks? Heck yeah! (She’s a bit of a puller at first but settles down like a pro.)Dog daycare? If you were to bottle up happiness and put it into a dog, that'd be me! I'm a total love whose eager to make new friends of all shapes and sizes. When I go out for my walks, I have to stop everyone in the hallway to make sure they say hello to me! I like cats, I like dogs, and I love people. Unfortunately, my background is a bit of a mystery and has left me with some issues. I have masses present in both of my ears, my skin wasn't well taken care of, and the folds of my face were left very dirty. With the love and care from staff and vets, I'm on the mend! While the simple stuff is being taken care of now, my ears are going to be a longer process to figure out. I barely even notice it's an issue, however, I'm still as happy as can be!I'd do well just about anywhere as long as you're prepared to love me 24/7. I don't take breaks - I need snuggles all the time!
