Beanie is the definition of a wonderful companion. As an estimated 3-5 year old, she’s got plenty of energy to keep up with daily walks and playtime, but is also happy to curl up beside you for cozy couch time. Beanie is gentle, well-mannered, and loves to be around people. She’s the perfect balance of fun and relaxation—whether you’re heading out for an adventure or enjoying a quiet night in, Beanie will be right there by your side. Beanie is the perfect companion for someone looking for a dog who’s a little more settled, but still enjoys the good things in life. Her loving nature will win you over instantly, and you’ll find that her heart is as big as her gentle personality. Beanie would do well in a variety of homes, whether with individuals or families. She’s social, sweet, and ready to give her new family all the love she has to offer! Due to lack of foster homes in the Boise area, Beanie will stay with her Texas foster family until she has adoption interest in the PNW. Spay, transport from Texas, current vaccines, and microchip all included in her adoption fee. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Story
We are looking for a good home for my mom's pit bull mix, Patches. Due to my mom's health issues, she can no longer take care of Patches. Patches is turning 8 this year. She is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccines, house trained, and crate trained. Patches is a very sweet dog but she needs a little extra training. Patches prefers being the only dog, but she gets along with other dogs. I don't know how she does with cats. Patches likes to play and go for walks, but she also loves to cuddle and be the center of attention. She comes with a crate, bed, toys, harness and leash.

Story
Tiny and Marlie are very gentle and good-natured dogs that we would love to see adopted together if possible. Both are cuddlers although Marlie prefers to lay on top of you rather than to the side. They are both such sweethearts and love people. They're good with kids. With new people and situations, however, Marlie is a little timid at first. These youngsters are super playful and love toys, treats, and bones. Tiny lives to play tug-of-war or keep-away and his favorite toys are ropes. Marlie is content with a chew and a shade tree. They are both treat-motivated. Once, their temporary foster mom took them to a park where there were other dogs and while Marlie was a bit standoffish, she didn't act like she minded the other animals. In the temporary foster home they did not get along with the senior Pitty but were okay with the other dogs. It is hard to say if they will do best with just the two of them or be fine with another friendly, confident dog of middle age. Marlie walks with a hunch in her back like maybe she sustained an injury at some point that wasn’t treated. The landlord at the apartment where they came from said there was a time when she didn't get around much and seemed like she hurt her "rear leg or something". Tiny stayed at her side the entire time. These two are a bonded pair, not siblings, but they love each other dearly. From what we were told, their prior owner tried to separate them at one point and they both did poorly. They are very attached to each other. That being said, the situation was already less than ideal, and they probably needed each other to cope. They can go to separate fosters if needed, but after the trauma and abandonment they have endured, we would love to keep them together. They absolutely love car rides and behave wonderfully. They have great leash manners. They get along with the cats in their home. Both are estimated to be about one year old at the beginning of July, 2024. They are in our satellite foster group in the Salt Lake City area. She is fully vetted, heartworm negative & on preventatives, spayed, & microchipped. She is being fostered in a home in Seguin, TX.

Story
I'M GRAYSON, and I'm a great dog! I'm an unique looking Pittie but am handsome in my own right. I have a bit longer nose and some chubby cheeks and my eyes can sometimes look sad. I'm also quite small for a male Pit, about 45-50 lbs. I'm about 4-5 years old now and keep getting overlooked. I love people and have tested well with some other dogs. About a year ago I was diagnosed with a double hip dysplasia, and I just need to be on meds (or supplements) going forward. (Right now I'm over-the-counter glucosamine and am doing great!) I can be a bit touchy on my back hips now and then, so best to just avoid rubbing me there, especially if I'm sleeping. I am starved for human affection, and I love to go on car rides, walks and other outings. I would do best in a quiet home with a single person or couple. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email for an application.

HI - I'M MACY! I'm a sweet and happy 6- to 7-year-old chocolate-and-white Labrador-Pit, mix, possibly with some Aussie thrown in. I have been waiting for two years for a home and am wondering why nobody wants me? I was rescued from a high-kill shelter where I had kennel mates! Now that I'm out, I like some dogs better than others, but would do best either as an only dog or possibly with a friendly male. I'm still very active, and so would love to be with a person or people who go for walks, hikes or other outings. I love the water and car rides and am a happy girl. I weigh about 50 lbs. Can you open your home to me? Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M JAZZ, and I'm a sad, black Pit Bull Terrier waiting for a foster or forever home. I'm a bit sad because I've been waiting a couple years, and nobody has chosen me. Maybe because I'm a black dog? Or because I prefer to be the only dog in the home? But still, I'm a good boy. I'm very friendly once I know you - but a bit shy in the beginning. I'm loyal, playful, smart, protective, brave, curious, athletic, independent and dignified. I will make a good couch potato once I settle in! I'm currently about 6 years old. I would do best in an adult-only home with people who really want to give a home to a dog in need. I promise I won't disappoint. I will make a good protector, because of my loyalty to my people or person. I don't demand a lot of attention or affection, and in fact am a bit more independent. I'm protective a bit of my space and food, so just know that about me. I'm not great with other dogs and likely wouldn't be good with cats either. My ideal adopter would be a single person or couple who wants a home protector, and a companion. I love the outdoors and running around, and would love to go for walks and hikes with you. I weigh about 55 lbs. Can you foster or adopt me? Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M JULIE! I'm about 9 years young and a loving girl! I've been waiting for awhile for a home - not sure why nobody wants me, because I'm super cute. I only weigh about 52 lbs and am an affectionate snuggle bug. I prefer to be the only dog in the home and prefer people to dogs so would do best with a single person, a couple or a family with older kids. I'm not a fan of cats either, so no kitties for me please. I am in good athletic shape and still love to go for walks and hikes. And I love the water! I also love the fresh air and the feeling of the sunshine on my back. Could you give me a chance and foster or adopt me? Please email for an application.

Story
HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON! I'M MARCY! I'm a sweet and lovable 8-year-old female red & white Pit Bull Terrier in need of a new home. There are a few things you should know about me. First, I truly do prefer to be an only dog, though would likely do well with a male pal, as I had one before. But I love people and am very loyal. I also love being petted, rubbed and given lots of affection. Secondly, I was attacked by another dog about a year ago and lost part of my nose, but this does not impact me one bit. I only look a little funny but it doesn't change my lovable personality. I have been waiting a long time for a home because apparently, nobody wants a funny looking dog who would love to be the only dog in the home. So if you can look past my imperfections, I would love to be your companion. I'm still very active and would be happy to go for walks and hikes. Can you foster or adopt me? I am currently looking for a foster or forever home. I would do best in a home with a person, couple or family with teenage kids. I weigh 64 lbs. Please email for an application.

Story
Say hello to Bella, the charming and spirited pup who’s ready to steal your heart! Bella is all about playtime, especially with her fellow rescue pals—she could spend hours frolicking in the yard! While it may take her a little time to warm up, once Bella trusts you, she’ll shower you with endless affection and loyalty. Bella thrives on slow introductions with well-balanced dogs, making her an ideal companion for other furry friends that match her energy. She’s crate-trained and settles in easily, though her playful nature means doggy beds don’t stand a chance—they quickly become her favorite toys! Highly motivated by treats, Bella is eager to learn and responds well to training. She walks well on a leash but can get easily distracted, so a gentle leader might help her focus during outings. Though Bella prefers the comforts of home, she’ll need a little encouragement to embrace the joys of a walk. She can feel anxious around other dogs on her adventures, sometimes expressing her excitement a bit loudly. But remember, every rescue has their quirks, and Bella’s incredible qualities far outweigh any challenges! Bella is ready to find her forever home with a family that understands and loves her just as she is. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful companion who will fill your days with joy, Bella is the perfect match! To add Bella to your family, simply send us an email at springbranchrescue@gmail.com for adoption and fee information. She is wagging her tail and wiggling her butt at just the thought of finding her forever home and her story is just beginning. Her next chapter could be with you! Our adoption fee includes transport, all age required shots, microchip, & a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian. We look forward to receiving your application! We will review it shortly and give you a call to set up a phone interview.  We are thrilled to offer transport services every 3 weeks from Houston to the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, and the East Coast, ensuring that these incredible pets can find their way to you no matter where you are. This makes the adoption process smooth and convenient, allowing you to focus on welcoming your new family member with open arms. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future away from a city that has an animal crisis. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves. We know that since you are looking to add a furry family member to your home here, you will provide the love, care, and attention they need to thrive. Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping. ##2149754##

Story
The lovely Reggie, who is also called Sir Reginald and Little Gentleman, is an extreme cuddle bug, wanting to share your space wherever you are. He loves to curl up next to you on the couch or in bed, and yes, he will really want to share your bed with you. Once he bonds with you, he will follow you around, and he’s a dear to have. He truly wants to be a most loved dog, full of love and devotion to a person or family that is willing to shower those things on him; he desperately wants to belong to someone. Reggie is wickedly smart. He would do well in agility or skill-based training. He is quick to understand new commands and would do well with someone willing to spend the time increasing his abilities. His absolutely favorite activity is to play fetch. His tongue will be lolling out and he will still want to play fetch. He will fetch sticks, balls, if it can fit in his mouth and you can throw it, he’ll retrieve it. This boy is extremely skittish with strangers, especially men, tending to bark and growl or submission pee. He is fearful of toddlers and young kids, say 6 and under. Reggie likes other dogs yet once comfortable with those in the home he can get quite pushy. He plays well with other familiar dogs outside of the home. He plays well with unfamiliar dogs at the dog park. On leash he tends to “lunge” to say “hi” although his foster family has been working on it. Reggie is not aggressive as a first response with other dogs. However, if another dog responds aggressively, Reggie is quick to respond which has gotten him wounded in the past. He currently spends time with 3 other big dogs and regularly visits small dogs with little issues. Reggie is curious of cats and generally knows not to chase them. He hasn’t been around other animals besides cats and dogs. Reggie generally knows the rules but likes to push the boundaries occasionally. He has been trained to not counter surf, but still does occasionally particularly when there’s change in the house. He knows these verbal cues: heel, sit, stay, leave it, crate/kennel, shake and lie down. He is leash trained. He tends to rush up to people when off leash and forget all about coming when called, so he is predominately on on-leash boy. While his foster parents have been working to acclimatize Reggie to busier places than the trails they walk regularly, he remains exceedingly overwhelmed and fearful in new environments, particularly in indoor spaces. They have tried the farmers market, local outdoor events, and Lowe’s and he consistently has his tail between his legs. He responds much better if he can go with a familiar doggo friend. Reggie has recently begun to show some signs of resource guarding around toys that will need to be managed. He is rather vocal, barking at people across the street, visitors and neighbors. A home that is set at least a little ways back from the street would be advantageous and he needs a yard that doesn’t have the fence all the way to the road. He communicates by whining when he wants attention, a toy, or to go outside. His foster parents have been trying to teach their dogs to “sing”, so he howls when he hears sirens, though it is uncertain if he will do it without his buddies. Once Reggie gets established in his home, he isn’t prone to running, preferring to remain close to his friends. When Reggie is stressed, the first thing to go is housetraining. He does know to go outside but seems to forget when stressed. Reggie had a rough start in life and ended up in a shelter in Hurricane, Utah where he was on the euthanize list because he was doing poorly there. Reggie has been in a wonderful foster home for the past 18 months, but it is time for him to move on and have a family of his own, one with a good amount of experience and patience. Reggie is probably a bulldog or boxer mixed with Australian shepherd or Australian cattle dog. He is neutered and guessed to be 2.5-3 years old. He weighs approximately 50lbs. Reggie is being fostered near Salt Lake City. If you're interested in Reggie, please fill out a pre-adoption application on https://linktr.ee/northernstardogrescue You can see his Facebook bio and photos here and you don't need an account to do so: https://www.facebook.com/share/fdtkYc13iSNfMNGV/
