***NEEDS FOSTER or FOREVER HOME*** Currently boarding in Boise Meet ROXY! She is a 5-year-old, 46-lb affectionate, people-loving cuddlebug who will melt into your arms the moment you sit down. She is housetrained and good with kids. ROXY's story hasn’t been an easy one. This beautiful pup spent too long fending for herself, trying to get by without the love and care every dog deserves. While she was technically "owned", the owners didn't care for her, letting her get pregnant, and roam the streets. But even after all she’s been through, ROXY is still the sweetest girl. In our rescue, ROXY finally knows what kindness feels like and is soaking it all in — and giving it right back. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, resting her head on your lap, or greeting you with a happy tail wag, ROXY's favorite thing in the world is simply being loved. She is old enough to appreciate a good nap, but still young enough for playtime and leisurely walks. After everything she’s endured, ROXY is ready for her next chapter — one filled with belly rubs, soft blankets, and a family that will cherish her for the rest of her life. Spay, microchip, and current vaccines all included in her $150 adoption fee. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you with her whole heart, ROXY is your girl. Please share this post to help ROXY find her forever family. She is ready for her new life to begin ❤️. Apply to meet and learn more about ROXY at www.freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Roxy’s story hasn’t been an easy one. This beautiful, middle-aged Pitbull mix spent too long fending for herself, trying to get by without the love and care every dog deserves. While she was technically "owned", the owners didn't care for her, letting her get pregnant, and roam the streets. But even after all she’s been through, Roxy is still the sweetest girl. Now that she is finally surrendered to us, she knows what kindness feels like, Roxy is soaking it all in — and giving it right back. She’s an affectionate, people-loving cuddlebug who will melt into your arms the moment you sit down. Whether it’s snuggling on the couch, resting her head on your lap, or greeting you with a happy tail wag, Roxy’s favorite thing in the world is simply being loved. If you’re looking for a dog who will love you with her whole heart, Roxy is your girl. Roxy would do best living as the only pet, but she loves to go for walks with other dogs and have gentle play outside of the home. Along with her terrible past, she is bringing along heartworm and valley fever both of which are being treated by the rescue. Spay, microchip, and current vaccines all included in her adoption fee. Story
***NEEDS FOSTER or FOREVER HOME*** Currently in Boise boarding kennels Meet ZEUS ! He is an affectionate, people-loving, 45-lb, 12-year-old male pitbull mix who is looking for a quiet, stable home willing to provide comfort care after all that he has endured. Despite his past, he is friendly, loving and deeply human-oriented. ZEUS is fine with off-leash doggy playgroups at his boarding kennel, but he doesn't really engage. He enjoys sniffing the room and resting. He adores all the attention that he receives from the staff and volunteers. He loves treats and food. ZEUS walks well on a loose leash and with other dogs. He even 'checks in' with his handler (see video). ZEUS was lucky to be in a foster home to recover from neuter surgery. We learned that he is housetrained, cratetrained, and sleeps through the night. He loves exploring new smells around the house or on walks. He loves peanut butter so can pass the time in his crate or when you are away from him with a lick mat or a stuffed Kong. ZEUS is fine with resident dogs, but has not learned how to share resources like your love and your food. He will let you know about his displeasure with a warning growl. We are looking for a home where this behaviour can either be managed (i.e., avoid these situations) or a home without other dogs. ZEUS should be fine in any calm home, including respectful elementary school age kids. He would be ideal for an older couple looking to walk each day. ZEUS is healthy, neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines for his forever family. They both received emergency vet care for starvation, dehydration, and other complications from prolonged neglect. Despite all they’ve endured, they are gentle, soft-natured, and incredibly sweet.

Meet Sarge! They named me Sarge and I’m not sure that it fits because I don’t like being in charge. I like following your lead. I’m quick to pick up your routine and just love to be around you. If you’d like to jam out to Taylor Swift while you’re working out, don’t worry, I won’t judge you. I do get a little sad when you leave the house, but I don’t spend the whole time crying. I’ll just find a good bone to chew on and think of you until you come back to cuddle me. Neuter, microchip, and current vaccines all included in their adoption fee. Story
Young, sweet pitbull baby name Bruno. My mom recently suffered a fall less than 6 months after her and my dad adopted this sweet boy and they are no longer able to give him the care or training he needs. He is fairly young (less than 2 years old) and starting to learn many commands but needs someone who is able to offer him consistent training and energetic release. He loves hiking, camping, dog parks, couch cuddling, running. He is absolutely fabulous in the car even for long road trips. We've had many dogs over the years and know that he will be the perfect companion with a little bit more structure and strong owners. He needs a tall fenced yard as he is able to jump the short one. Ideally a dog door. Luckily he is not a runner and comes on command. He's great with other dogs (loves playing with our pitty mix.) but I would watch him around cats. Not recommended for a home with elderly family members or super small children until he's had training to learn not to jump.

Story
Tiny and Marlie are very gentle and good-natured dogs that we would love to see adopted together if possible. Both are cuddlers although Marlie prefers to lay on top of you rather than to the side. They are both such sweethearts and love people. They're good with kids. With new people and situations, however, Marlie is a little timid at first. These youngsters are super playful and love toys, treats, and bones. Tiny lives to play tug-of-war or keep-away and his favorite toys are ropes. Marlie is content with a chew and a shade tree. They are both treat-motivated. Once, their temporary foster mom took them to a park where there were other dogs and while Marlie was a bit standoffish, she didn't act like she minded the other animals. In the temporary foster home they did not get along with the senior Pitty but were okay with the other dogs. It is hard to say if they will do best with just the two of them or be fine with another friendly, confident dog of middle age. Marlie walks with a hunch in her back like maybe she sustained an injury at some point that wasn’t treated. The landlord at the apartment where they came from said there was a time when she didn't get around much and seemed like she hurt her "rear leg or something". Tiny stayed at her side the entire time. These two are a bonded pair, not siblings, but they love each other dearly. From what we were told, their prior owner tried to separate them at one point and they both did poorly. They are very attached to each other. That being said, the situation was already less than ideal, and they probably needed each other to cope. They can go to separate fosters if needed, but after the trauma and abandonment they have endured, we would love to keep them together. They absolutely love car rides and behave wonderfully. They have great leash manners. They get along with the cats in their home. Both are estimated to be about one year old at the beginning of July, 2024. They are in our satellite foster group in the Salt Lake City area. If you’re interested in one or both of these big bundles of love, please visit our Linktree page and complete an application. https://linktr.ee/northernstardogrescue

Story
We have had no leads for this seasoned pup since she arrived in Summer 2024!!!! ***NEEDS FOSTER or FOREVER HOME*** Currently in Boise boarding kennels ---SPECIAL NEEDS (deaf)--- SPARKLE is a sweet, adorable 8-year-old, 60-lb boxer-terrier mix 💖 girl who will require a pet-free home without young children. She seems to know some hand signals and enjoys her treats. Because she appears to have a bunch of different breeds in her, it might be fun to get her DNA tested. SPARKLE has a wonderful disposition towards all people that she knows. She has been good on pack walks. SPARKLE is houstrained and cratetrained. She is good on leash walks and great in vehicles. She really is a love, just curls up and sleeps most of the day in her kennel. She can entertain herself with a long-lasting chew. We are looking for a home without other dogs at this time as she has shown us to be quarrelsome when off-leash with other dogs and may not do well in big crowds/commotion. SPARKLE is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines, so ready for her forever home. Story
Meet Bella – Waiting Over 5 Years for Her Forever Family Sweet Bella has been with Spring Branch Rescue for over 5 years, hoping for a family to finally see her!  As a puppy, Bella was kept in a crate for long hours. All she wanted was to play with the kids in her home, but instead she spent her days confined. Despite her rough start, she’s still full of love, joy, and personality. Bella is playful, affectionate, and loves being part of the conversation (yes, she’s a little vocal!). She’s crate-trained, loves her playtime, and thrives when she’s included in family life. She’s on a special salmon or beef-based diet for mild skin allergies — no poultry for this girl.  Bella deserves a home where she can be free to love, play, and belong. She’s waited long enough — could you be the one she’s been dreaming of? Not in Texas? No problem! We offer transport to the Pacific NW and East Coast. Bella is ready to be part of your family — forever. ##2149754##
