I instantly felt her need and knew I had to help her. As she stopped at my kennel I moved to the front, leaned my shoulder forward and gave a little wag. I will admit, it was hard to be brave in the shelter environment. I didn’t want her to see, but I did tremble a bit. As she read my kennel card, I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past as I have a bright future ahead. She got down on her knees and began to speak to me. I wanted to say it was going to be okay but instead I got closer and leaned my head against the cage bars to comfort her. Her gentle fingers caressed my neck, her eyes filled with tears, and then came the moment; she smiled at me. I promised to keep her safe, to do everything I could to see that sweet smile, and sparkle in her eyes again. ********************************************************************************************* I’m in a foster home now. I’m bathed, settled and fed, and tucked warmly in my new bed. I should begin to unpack my baggage, lest I forget. There has been so much to carry, so much regret. Let’s start at the top, where I’ll first unpack Loneliness, Heartache, and Loss. There by my leash hides Fear and Shame and I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain. I loved them so much, the family I once had, the ones who left me with nothing but my bag. Can you help me unpack please? I pray that you can, for I’m so tired you see, but I do come with baggage, will you still want me? ********************************************************************************************* Sadly, Cyiah’s history is a mystery, as she was brought into the shelter as a stray. He was found as a stray on the construction site and a wonderful good Samaritan found him and is fostering him until he finds his forever home. His hair is super soft and his is gushy sweet. He warms up slow to new people and is very bonded and loyal to his human. He has an adorable underbite. He would be willing to wear outfits and hats if it is what his human wanted. He is great on leash and doesn’t pull and he is good in a car. He doesn’t shed and is a very very clean boy. He likes to keep his feet clean and really manages to stay out of any messes other dogs would normally get into. He is good in his crate and he is potty trained. He currently lives with other dogs but he is jealous of attention. His best home would really be where he can be the only dog and get all the snuggles from his family. I think a quieter home over the family that has a loud bustling group of people in it. He would be perfect for the single woman or man who would like a companion animal to walk, jog hike or cuddle with. He doesn’t need lots of exercise for happiness. He is an inside dog and loves to be in the house next to his person. He can stay in his crate while you work. He can also be trusted outside his crate. He lives with a female Staffordshire and a miniature Schnauzer and he does great with both. He is trained to use a doggy door. He is good in a crate and other dogs. He loves men the most and in my opinion, would make a wonderful companion for a man. He automatically likes their leadership and responds well to direction. He knows sit and does not potty in the house. He weighs about 60 pounds and while he does pull on leash, he likes to go on walks. His ears were cropped when we got them. They don’t look like a vet cropped but them, it looks more like a home crop job done incorrectly. He knows sit and will do it when asked. He is rambunctious as are many puppies and will do well with older children. He is not a big shedder and a very clean boy. He will stay in foster care waiting for his adoption. He will be neutered soon, heartworm negative and getting his vaccinations. He would be great for an active companion wanting an active dog to go along. He would be great for a jogger, walker or runner. They were placed in a fold-up-type wagon and left at the front door of a vet clinic. The pups were very small considering the vet determined that they were already 5mos old!! They ranged between 5-12#s! They received good quality food and as much as they wanted. They all doubled their weight and size in 3 weeks! I have never seen such growth. I’m not sure how big they will get because they are making up for lost time. These pups are the absolute sweetest. They show NO aggressiveness… No bully. They all just want LOVE!!! COOKIE…She is the smallest of the group. She was only 5.5# when she came in but now she is about 14#s. She’s growing like a weed. She is much like her sister… very sweet and loves attention from humans. She will make a great companion and won’t be real big. I can guess she may get to be 25-30#s. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention.
